(Watch for the man in the picture, this is about him) I drove about an hour to get my s/o to the emergency room after a days sickness only getting worse. We entered the emergency room and were given papers to fill out. After that they then gave us more papers with similar questions, so my s/o filled out what was important (as hes hunched over in pain) and gave the sheet back with spaces like religion unanswered. The women at the desk asked to finish it and after telling her (not yelling or being rude but upset bc hes been in pain), he was throwing up blood and really just needs a doctor now the "security" guy proceeded to rush from his station and yell, practically scream, right in our faces. Truly dont know why he was yelling, he was so mad his face was red and he couldn't even speak properly. I've never seen a security guard act this way and especially not with someone who just said they were throwing up blood. In a hospital you need compassion and understanding and this guy lacked both of these things. I called the cops immediately after he pushed himself closer and kept screaming at myself and my sick partner. We were advised by dispatch to distance ourselves until police arrived but instead now 4 security guys stood over us, cornered in the waiting room and blocking the only exit; and only moved when the sheriff's truck pulled up outside. Then explaining to the cops our side of the story, the 2/4 men proceeded to insert themselves until the police told them to back off. After our 3+ hour visit we asked for his name to make a proper complaint and were only given a card by the manager with a number to call and make a complaint with 'patient advocate'. If you are at common spirit or in the emergency department keep your eye out for the bald man with glasses who doesn't seem fully right in the head, he may just scream at you for being in pain. The nurses and doctor were very nice but security needs better hires and more training apparently. I was only going to make a proper complaint but since I cannot do that without the name of who I had a unpleasant interaction with im leaving this review on the chance nothing happens and he continues to act a fool. Daughter went to the ER at St Anthony in Frisco where Thomas Allen Califf suggested the pain she was experiencing was "psychosomatic". I thought women's healthcare was bad when I was younger but this is insane! Perhaps CommonSpirit St Anthony Summit Hospital should review this doctors bedside manner as well as their medical practices. This type of treatment is why women don't go to the hospital! It is unacceptable. Also tried calling their patient relations office (they usually list the number in answer to the bad reviews) only to get their voicemail, which again, just shows it's not about advocating for the patient. Came in for dehydration and altitude sickness. Physicians were sharp,attentive, and informative. Answered all my questions. Nursing staff was awesome from admit to in room stay Nutrition was easy to order and the food was above average for hospital stays CNA - certified nurse assistants were great. Went in for an Afib episode and the entire staff was amazing..in particular Jim the nurse assisting that morning and Dr Sakumura kept a professional but friendly demeanor and helped me through the procedure with humor and answered all questions. Our experience at CommonSpirit St. Anthony Summit Hospital Emergency Room was extremely disappointing and honestly very upsetting. We arrived around 11:00 PM due to severe head pain that had escalated to a 10/10. This was not a mild headache. The pain was intense and debilitating, accompanied by dizziness, confusion, and nausea. It reached a point where it was unbearable and genuinely frightening. Severe neurological-type symptoms are not something anyone takes lightly, and we came in because we were concerned something serious could be happening. From the moment we checked in, there was a noticeable lack of urgency. The severity of the symptoms did not feel acknowledged. When someone presents with extreme head pain combined with confusion and dizziness, there should be at minimum a sense of concern and professionalism. Instead, the interaction felt dismissive. The front desk staff member working at the time -- a short brunette woman on duty around 11 PM -- was particularly difficult to deal with. Her tone came across as snarky and dismissive rather than compassionate or reassuring. When someone is in visible distress, empathy matters. Even simple reassurance or calm communication would have gone a long way. Instead, we felt like an inconvenience. As the pain continued to intensify, it became so unbearable that we ultimately had to leave because he was desperate just to lie down somewhere quiet. Sitting upright in a waiting area while in that level of pain was not manageable. No one should feel forced to leave an emergency room while in extreme distress because they do not feel supported or prioritized. At one point, I even asked the front desk staff member whether we should consider calling 911 given the severity of the symptoms. Her response was to snap at me and say that would be "ridiculous" and would just add "more charges." The financial aspect was not our concern -- our health and safety were. To have a legitimate question about emergency care dismissed in that manner was incredibly disheartening. When someone is scared and asking for guidance, the response should be informative and calm, not dismissive or sarcastic. We understand emergency departments can be busy and wait times can be long. What should never be lacking, however, is professionalism, empathy, and clear communication. There was very little effort made to explain expectations, provide reassurance, or acknowledge the severity of the situation. When you come to an ER with severe head pain, confusion, dizziness, and nausea, you are vulnerable and frightened. You are trusting medical professionals to take you seriously. Unfortunately, that was not how we were made to feel during this visit. I truly hope this feedback is taken seriously. No patient experiencing severe pain and neurological symptoms should feel dismissed, minimized, or spoken to with attitude when seeking emergency care. read more

I had a procedure on my foot last Friday. All the staff were great, but the attending nurse, Lauren RN was so professional, kind, reassuring, warm and well-informed. I was so relaxed for the first OR visit since age four. My podiatrist, Dr. Bruce Noxon is also the best foot surgeon anyone could ask for. He visited post-op and thoroughly answered all my questions. Let me start by saying we were on a family reunion vacation in Vail Colorado. When I needed medical care as a result of altitude sickness. I quickly looked online for the closest hospital. Val was listed having a 24/7 hr emergency department. However, you cannot walk into the facility as you have to travel by ambulance to utilize his services. We drove to Frisco Commons Spirit Saint Anthony Hospital and checked into the ED. Everyone from the reception to the nursing staff and the emergency doctor was fantastic. Dr. Tranovich was exceptional and kept checking up on me throughout my ED visit. I can't say enough good about the care we received in the emergency department here at Frisco. Would give 0 starts if it was an option. I came into the ER with a jaw accident and was completely dismissed by the doctor on call. When I returned home I finally was able to see a provider that did imaging of my jaw and had 2 cracked teeth that had already abscessed to the point of antibiotic resistance. The infection had become life threatening. I was admitted for emergency surgery and a 3 day hospital stay. I reached out to the hospital and was dismissed AGAIN. Then smacked with an insane bill from a doctor that did NOTHING!!! When I called customer service to discuss the bill I was met with a representative that seemed to know less about medical billing than me, a lay person. HORRIBLE SERVICE, HORRIBLE STAFF, A TOTAL WASTE. I will always tell everyone I meet to never go there. read more

I had a back spasm at my accommodation in Breckenridge. I phoned 911 and paramedics and fire service was there in 2 minutes. I was admitted to this hospital where I was looked after with incredible compassion and professionalism. I had an MRI scan done and had a detailed report done. I am not impressed with St. A, I have been paying on our bill monthly for an ER visit anywhere from 900.00 a month to 300.00 with 627.98 left when I get a letter from a collection company. It did not matter I was paying the bill, I should have set up a payment plan with them. I had been paying on this bill since July with no call or letter advising I MUST set up a payment plan or could expect going to collection. The ER Doctor was great. The poor service from the staff who were busy on their cell phones and chatting, I had to go break up the gossip circle after the Doctor stitched up my husbands hand saying the nurse would bandage the stitch site. We waited about 45 minutes before I finally broke up the gab session asking for a nurse to come bandage the site so we could leave. read more

One of the worst ER experience we had! My spouse came here around 11pm on a Wednesday. The doctor came in twice with less than a minute or two each time. The ER doctor didn't order urine test nor going over the CT scan results; which showed that she had gall bladder issue. The nurse could barely took her blood while punctured through her vain in 3 out of 4 different places. The nurse even reinserted the needle after taking it out from another place. My spouse left the ER feeling worse than when she came in. She ended up going to our PCP the next day, which we found out that she had a bladder infection and should have been on antibiotics!! read more

I am a retired anesthesiologist. I was supposed to get a spinal block, which generally, is not that hard to do. The anesthesia tech poked and poked, painfully, for several minutes then "Dr. Kaylan" poked some more over 3 to4 minutes. She said they were hitting bone and couldn't get the needle in. I was just about to tell her to get a larger needle, which I would, have done a lot earlier, they got it right in. I had asked for a nerve block after the procedure but was told NO. I was in excruciating pain afterwards, WHY? While nursing staff was nice, they were way overworked and it took time to get meds I needed. I stayed overnight and got little sleep from people coming and going into my room. Not a place I would use again. read more

While the next time, not as much. They are conveniently located and you do go into a room (which means you don't have wait in the waiting room forever like some other hospitals). First visit: Took a piss test, let the nurse know, Doctor comes in saying he didn't even know I took one...continues to dismiss my symptoms, without even going back. Handed papers and discharged. Second visit: Gets abused; Doctor continuously asks "If I'm on drugs"... I would say to check a sample, if they even bothered to take one. I went to St.Anthony hospital after my ski injury and being evaluated at the mountain base ER at Keystone. They diagnosed a broken leg that needed an external fixator. They arranged the ambulance to take me straight to the OR prep and quickly checked me in and I was prepared for surgery. The surgeon introduced yourself and explained what needed to be done and answered all my questions, and I met with the anesthesiologist and the nurse anesthetist. I had the surgery and spent 48 hours at Saint Anthony's receiving great care from each of the nurses, occupational and physical therapists, that I worked with, I found out I was one of many who had to have surgery following a ski accident that day. read more

Went to St Anthony's in Frisco on Christmas Day with an upper arm injury I got skiing. The staff at the front desk and the nurses were nice enough but the doctor was just terrible. Dr Erik Adler saw me for all of five seconds said "let's x-ray it" and left. After the x-ray tech (who was extremely helpful and seemingly caring) came in and took the x-rays I sat there and waited for over two hours. At that point a nurse came in with my discharge papers and said I was good to go. Nobody discussed the X-ray results with me or the possibility of muscle or tendon injury. Never saw the doctor again, just a terrible experience and it really seemed like they just didn't care. Don't go here if you have any other options. The Minute Clinic at CVS would probably give you better care. read more

We try to avoid going here unless we have to but my father in-law had an episode where he stopped breathing for 10-15 seconds and we did not see a pulse ( I didn't have time to check for one because we were lifting him out of a chair onto the deck to start CPR). First responders here were great, no issue with them. 911 dispatcher not so great. Anyways he went in the ambulance to this hospital and we met him there. The front desk nurses were great. They only allow 1 person back in the ED which is a strict policy. It was very kind of them to let me back with my husband and father in law so I was thankful for that. But I get to my father in law's room and they drew labs from his IV and didn't re-connect the IV tubing to his IV. So he was sitting there not getting the IV fluids he needed. We had to call staff to come and re- connect the tubing. The CNA was very unenthusiastic about getting my father in law more water which was interesting. The X-ray tech seemed to get upset about me asking why they were doing a Chest X-ray and he couldn't give me an answer. I asked the nurse what the plan was/what the diagnosis was and she also got defensive which is odd. And then I heard her talking about me at the nurse's station. I'm a nurse, work at St Anthony's Hospital in Lakewood so it's normal for me (and should be normal for anybody else) to ask questions and expect adequate care. It's always great to keep the pt and family updated on what's going on and why things are being done. I don't understand why staff got so defensive but it frustrated me. The PA did come and tell us what they thought happened and it made sense we just would have appreciated more communication from the nurse and more professionalism from the staff. This is our 2nd negative experience at this hospital (the other was with our son). And I'd say avoid this place unless it's absolutely necessary you go. read more

This hospital is a joke & the staff is very passive aggressive. I brought my friend into the emergency room because she was experiencing chest pains and shortness of breath. First thing they did was draw blood. It took them 3-4 hours to get back with the results. Then we sat here for another 2 hours before they took x-rays and a EKG. Whenever we ask for updates because we've been in here for 7+ hours they just tell us to wait longer, without giving us an actual update. They finally took ultrasound images of her heart, and it took the Dr. 2 hours just to look at the results. If you're in a real emergency do not come here! read more

I broke and dislocated my ankle, and the amazing team (all female -woohoo!) of medical professionals at this facility not only took care of my ankle but made a bad experience as good as possible. During our visit to Breckenridge we went here at 3am because one of the members of our group suffered from altitude sickness, dehydration, hypokalemia, hypoxia and gastroenteritis. The hospital is located in Frisco, just a 15 minute ride away from Breckenridge. We were attended to quickly and all of the staff from receptionist, nurse, phlebotomist, radiology tech, respiratory therapist, and ER physician Dr. Adler were professional and caring. We received clear discharge instructions and they also made arrangements for home oxygen that we could use for the week. Copies of all the test results were given to us. Because of their prompt and expert care we were able to enjoy the rest of our vacation. Thank you to everyone in the ER- you were all great! read more

My boyfriend and I are from NC and we were in the area sight seeing. After going up to Mount Evans (high altitude) and also having a sinus infection, my boyfriend fainted a few times. I took him straight to the hospital where we saw Dr.Hoang. She was a very kind and thorough doctor. Her team was also spot on. They were on top of their game and got my boyfriend feeling right within an hour. Both of the RN's that gave him his IV and scanned his heart were kind, professional, and gentle as well. My daughter was transported from Keystone with a pneumothorax. Accident occurred while skiing. Dr. Taylor quickly accessed her and made the decision to move forward. As a worried parent requested a second opinion from a family friend Trauma Dr. . Dr . Taylor took the time to confer and both doctors reached the same opinion. Hospital personnel was amazing both in the Emergency Room and in the hospital room. I wish to acknowledge Camille , Jeff, Jonas, Elise, Jenny, Dr Taylor & Michelle. My husband and I got sick just before New Year's. On New Year's Eve morning we went to the St. Anthony's urgent card in Breckenridge. It was predictably busy, but they had an efficient process and took care of us in a reasonable amount of time. We had chest X-rays,Covid tests and strep test, all of which were negative. Strep was my concern since antibiotics could quickly get that under control. They concluded that it was viral. The care was efficient and compassionate, but I was disappointed that they did not prescribe an antiviral such as Tamiflu. read more

To confirm what others have said, DO NOT GO HERE UNLESS YOU'RE ACTUALLY DYING! As a local, this is literally the only game in town for emergency care, so I had no choice when I needed an emergency room. Two hours later, I walked out with a consult to see a specialist for some weirdo symptoms they couldn't diagnose, and a $14,000 bill. I never saw an actual doctor (only physician assistants on staff that day apparently) and received no crazy treatment- just IV fluids and and some diagnostic testing that was charged for separately. Yes, I called the hospital to contest the bill, and yes, I filled out the paperwork to formally contest the bill. It did absolutely nothing, and I'm still stuck with this insane bill. In the future, it looks like I'll be driving the two hours to an urgent care in Denver rather than go here for anything short of a heart attack. Two hour drive with a gaping head wound? Still sounds better than bankruptcy to me! So thanks Centura Health for making our town a worse place one hospital visit at a time! read more

The office experience for a recent appointment was truly pathetic. I both checked in electronically prior to the visit as well as physically checked in with the receptionist. I was told to wait behind their fireplace in the waiting area. My appointment was for 3:00 p.m. At 3:40 I returned to the receptionist area to ask if there was a problem. A different receptionist was at the desk. I explained I had checked in and had been waiting for close to 45 minutes. She asked where my bracelet was. I told her I was never given one. She directed me to another office and told I needed to check in. I proceeded to tell this individual I had already checked in. She responded by telling me that I needed to check in with her. I told her I wasn't instructed to do so. She snapped back that I needed to check in with Her! I responded I did check in and was not instructed to check in with her. She told Me "well now you are!" Absolutely no need for the attitude. I was there for a CT scan that took the technician all of 10 minutes to complete, He was professional and courteous. I wish I could say the same for the office/scheduling staff. read more

This is the closest ER to us, they are horrible. I was taken here a few months ago late at night by ambulance. Was a blizzard so my wife followed us over the pass. Was rushed into the ER and they quickly went to work checking my vitals. Determined the possible issue, sent me for my MRI. Got my tests back. Gave me something for my pain, almost killed me as soon as they injected me, hustled in with my discharge pappers that i guess i signed. Told me everything was ok and made me walk out of the hospital in my pajamas no coat. I thought that you couldnt sign any legal papers if on certain meds. But i was told that i did. I wonder how legal that was. Seems like they screwed up, and simply wanted me out. If you have a choice, NEVER GO HERE. read more

I was so impressed with my visit to the ER here. My 2 year old has nursemaids elbow (a kind of elbow dislocation) and so we brought him here. The admin staff were super fast and efficient in getting us thorough check in and the nurses were so nice and caring. A volunteer stopped by within 1min with a teddy bear (which my son did not accept because he was miserable. Kind of proud that he had no time for the stranger giving him a toy.) The doctor saw him within 5min and popped his elbow back in. I think that it took 15min total from walking in the door to being fixed up. The discharge paperwork took longer than anything else. Granted that this was in the summer and so the ER wasn't swamped with ski injuries. But it was still such a quick and efficient visit. Being in the ER sucks. And they made it suck just a tiny bit less. read more

I went in for an MRI yesterday. Great experience. First, I know my DR sent in an order at the end of the day I saw the DR. Next morning the MRI office called me to schedule, before I had a chance to call them. I was able to get an appointment in less than a week from the call. My appointment was right on time. Very through and kind MRI Tech guys. I had my choice of XM radio stations to listen to. I was given comfy clothes to wear and had a locker for my things. Even a nice lavender scented eye pillow to use and then take with me. read more

First off, I am a local resident. this hospital provides good, prompt care in a nice environment. However, their costs are outrageous for an MRI. I needed to get a san recently in a rush, according to my GP, who referred me. After the scan was done (quickly and professionally), got my bill, with the total charge of over $4300 with my 20% share being over $900. I went home and after a quick bit of research to find that I coudl have gone to Denver and gotten the same scan done for less than $1000, or close to $2000 on the high end. I accept that the cost of doing business outside the city and in a hospital is higher, but this is just taking advantage of the situation where they are the only hospital in the near vicinity and especially taking advantage of out of town visitors, likely here to ski and often getting injured. Can't ask for more!! I fell down pretty hard while snowboarding and sprained my wrist, knee and dislocated my shoulder - the staff is attentive and very polite! They even insisted to carry my jackets and boots. There was a bit of waiting - which I understood as it was spring break weekend and ski/snowboard is pretty dangerous. Everyone from nurse, resident doctor, physician and radiologist were all great! They insist on putting ice on my shoulder and knee - because it's Copper Mt. they put snow in a zip lock bag and that was it.. CLEVER!!
