The process was terrible from the start. Each step took forever. I specifically mentioned student…read moreloans and asked that they be sure to double check whether the student loans would affect my eligibility and was told that they would not. After paying an inspector and lots of other costs and fees, THE DAY BEFORE THE CLOSING WAS SUPPOSED TO HAPPEN, Lee called me to say that they had to cancel because my student loans made me not qualify. WHAT!?!?! I asked a month beforehand about this so that I would not waste time and money if that were the case. The problem was solved with a cosigner. But it was embarrassing frustrating and costly. Now, because this is a construction loan, which means checking in about progress of the renovations to the old decrepit house I purchased, I have to deal with a rep from the company who insists on referring to me as Mrs, despite my repeated request that they not do so because I am not a Mrs. I have explained, more than once what the correct honorific is for me, if they insist on using one. It is NOT Mrs. It is offensive that they insist on continuing to use Mrs. Though, I get the feeling that the "person" I deal with doesn't exist. I suspect it is a shared email address by all the members of some call center like place, so whoever is emailing me this week has no idea that I have asked repeatedly... But they are always pretty rude, regardless. If you have a choice, go somewhere else. My student loans prevented the local banks from being willing to work with me, so I had to go with the higher interest, slightly predatory, mortgage brokers. I would not recommend them.

They made the process of buying a home as easy as can be & were very accommodating to our busy schedules. Would highly recommend using Dave & his team!

While buying a house can be stressful at times, Fairway made it less stressful. All my questions…read morewere answered in a timely manner and even though we hit a some bumps in the road we were still able to close on time. There is no doubt in my mind that if we had a different mortgage company we would still be trying to close. Thank you again for everything!!

We are victims of Unfair, Deceptive Acts and Practices in a joint predatory Mortgage Loan…read moreoriginated by William B. Murphy and owned by Fairway Independent Mortgage Corporation. William B. Murphy trapped us in a Predatory Mortgage based on fraudulent loan application. Mr. Murphy falsified the Mortgage Loan application when he excluded $69,000 SBA Loan. Mr. Murphy approved the Predatory Mortgage Loan at 53% DTI (Debt-to-Income) ratio and violated the Commonwealth v. Fremont Investment & Loan opinion, 452 Mass. 733, 897 N. E. 2d 548 (2008), Federal Underwriting and Mortgage Affordability Requirements. On September 12, 2023 we filed a lawsuit about mortgage fraud against Fairway, Murphy and others in Worcester District State Court. We demanded Jury Trial. On November 3, 2023 Honorable Judge R. Pellegrini found evidence of Fraud, Deceit, Intentional Misrepresentation and Originally Structurally Unfair Mortgage was in violation of M.G.L. c.93A, c.183C. Unfortunately on September 23, 2024 Bank-friendly Judge James G. Haddad ignored genuine issues of material facts and denied us from presenting any evidence to a Jury. He overruled Judge Pellegrini's order and dismissed our case before Trial. Judge Haddad decided the Court lacks jurisdiction because we do not seek "monetary damages" for our suffering. Judge Haddad also denied without reason our request to amend the lawsuit with money damages. We immediately filed an appeal. 20 months later, our Appeal is still pending. To this day, Judge James G. Haddad's order has not been confirmed by any other Judge. Due to Mr. Murphy's conduct, our "Excellent Credit" has been destroyed to Poor Credit and we are in danger of losing our family home.
