Both times they left needles in me that I had to pick out afterwards, and they scheduled the second appointment a few days after the first instead of letting my body adjust which may have contributed to it. I have been depressed about it and felt like there eas no point saying anything for months, but I'm feeling more determined about things now so I am speaking up about the horrible experience I had so others might not have that experience. It's quite likely you will get a different and more skilled acupuncturist if you go here, but I'm just warning you that there is a chance you will end up having a bad experience like I did here.

I have been here many times (around 25 sessions over a 2-year period mostly for peripheral nerve tingling on my fingers and toes but also headaches), most recently for what I thought was nerve pain in the upper left quadrant of my back. I felt relieved (as if the "edge" was taken of the upper back pain) after coming out and relaxed during the session. In fact, I feel light and relieved almost every time I come out of a session. If you have fatigue as I have had for a long time, you might be prescribed medicinal herbs to increase your vitality - I really benefit from these. The room is relaxing and the practitioners are all friendly and eager to tonify / release qi and I am very much fond of the community-oriented model of Communi Qi. Give it a try and remember that for acupuncture, sometimes patients need several sessions for symptoms to feel better though I am very often relieved and feel calmer and happier after a session. read more

I never had acupuncture before, but a neighbor persuaded me to try it. I did not have to look far, for right in my neighborhood was Communi-Qi! An aching shoulder from a long ago injury was keeping me awake at night and after a couple of treatments with Loki - I had so much more mobility then I did after many expensive sessions of Physical therapy. I had an AMAZING first-ever acupuncture experience at Communi-Qi! I decided to give acupuncture a try to help a sprained wrist heal in time for my softball playoff game the following night. WOW! What an experience! After a detailed first-time patient consultation with Debbie about my specific areas of pain and discomfort, she proceeded to ease me into a calm state as she inserted the needles. I was the last patient of the day and had the place to myself for an hour. It was a very peaceful experience! I left that evening with such a good feeling throughout my whole body, I can't really describe it.. it was.like a natural high! I go in to Communi-Qi every Friday for an appointment with Debbie, and in the four months I've been doing this, my insomnia is almost completely cured and I haven't been sick all season (and that is a major feat for me)! I can't say enough good things about Loki and his work. Having never done acupuncture before I didn't know what to expect but he talked me through everything. I can say that after 4 weeks of treatments for tennis elbow, they are feeling much better! And, treatments are limited to just one ailment. I've been to Communi-Qi a couple times now... They definitely offer the best value for acupuncture and alternative healing in the Santa Cruz area. It's a little tricky to find the first time since they're located mid-block on Seabright Ave, just up from Charlie Hong Kongs. However, once inside, they have a very clean, spacious and peaceful treatment room with comfortable zero-gravity reclining chairs. The practitioners I've met are professional and attentive. Usually feel the relief results the next day... as follows. I woke up next day Saturday morning at 2:37 AM to a sound that sounded like a car door slamming outside. I thought about getting out of bed and did so about a minute later. I popped up out of bed and walked into main area of apartment. As I was looking out the window I realized I got out of bed unassisted. Didn't need to sit on side of bed warming up ankles doing circles.
