This was my go-to barber shop until Kory left for The Roosevelt Barber Shop. When the owner, Michael, cut my hair it would take a third of the time and never be what we discussed upfront. Very overpriced for men's haircut. $63 if using card and that's before the tip. Basically you get a buzz based on the length you wish to keep with very little hands on scissor work to check to see if the buzz was even or if there are areas that needed more attention. The hair around my cowlick area is way longer than any cut I have gotten before at other places and it remains unruly after my haircut. read more

Michael was able to fit me in between clients and gave me the whole service: hair cut, beard trim, shampoo, style, neck shave. It's been a long time since I've treated myself to that, and Michael did a great job. I'll definitely be returning. The vibe in there is great. We had the same experience as someone else who wrote a review here . We loved Kory. I asked Michael where he works but he didn't tell me and now that I know, I will be booking at Roosevelt Barber Shop. My son had the new person, Lina, and I'm sorry but not only did she not do a good job but at some point, as we were trying to ask for changes, she looked at Michael as if rolling her eyes. That is so unprofessional. Michael offered at the end for us to come back if we didn't like it after a few days and they would fix it free of charge but we will not be back. read more

So I have been looking for a top notch barber ever since I moved to Seattle. All I can say is I feel at home at the Community Barber and Shop. Michael did an outstanding job with my crazy long hair. I'm super specific about my haircut, and Michael asked many questions to make sure I was pleased with my cut. I arrived around 3:05 pm on a Saturday, he kindly greeted me and then I sat in the chair and discussed the cut I wanted for a few minutes. After that we just talked and got to know each other. Every step of the way I was asked a question to ensure it was the way I wanted it. After my initial haircut was over he then washed my hair with shampoo and conditioner (also had the nice touch of a hot towel). After that he just used a straight edge razor to clean up behind my neck and around my ears. Cash and card are welcomed. Couldn't be any more happy. If you're thinking of trying a new barber I wouldn't even hesitate to recommend Michael. A1 top of the line service. 100/10 read more
