Now, after less than seven years since it was finished, it is falling down, pickets warped, posts breaking off at ground level. I even took what I felt was the decent action I should take. After calling him MANY times, he finally returned a call. Very sarcastically, he asked how old it was......I thought around nine years, but my wife found proof of it being near seven. I called him and asked him to come by and give me an estimate, to which he said he'd be by and look at it at a specific time......no show. Then I found a bid on my porch of $1200. To replace three posts which were obviously poor quality to begin with and mend ten pickets that are falling off. He indicated putting screws in them this time when he originally used poor quality nails from a gun. I actually had to check them regularly because even the first year, many were loosening to the point of nearly coming off. This privacy fence cost me nearly ten thousand dollars for the total job of almost five-hundred feet back then. He was paid in cash so I wondered if it ever was claimed on his taxes....just wondering seeing as how he has not even returned my call back to discuss his bid....I've left him many messages to that effect. My recommendation for anyone is to not call on Doug CHRISTIAN for your fence needs. I definitely will not allow him on my place and have taken off his sign on my fence that he nailed on and it, too, was even falling off!?!!!

You can prolong a wooden fence with a lot of oil treating, but materials in the Texas heat and wet will twist and rot away after some time, and I had let it go just trying to manage our lives at the house, so I was expecting an expensive job to replace it. This time, we opted for a 6' chain link fence. Doug came out and gave us an estimate which was very reasonable, and he went the extra mile given our circumstances with our son who requires extra care and attention because of his autism. He even worked around his outdoor schedule! By the time he woke up to go play outside in the morning, they had carted the old fence away and installed the new one! I couldn't believe it. A year later, our son learned to climb like nobody's business, and we were concerned that he might wander off, or get hurt, so we had Doug come back, and once again: Very kind, very professional, a reasonable price and a solution. He installed an angled topper with tight wire across the top of the fence and solved our problem. Now our son can play outside in safety. My experience with Christian fencing, honestly, was an excellent experience. My wife and I (and our son!) thank you, and I will call you in the future for all my fencing needs!

I want to apologize for anyone who read my previous review of this business and hired them. They…read moredid do a good job on first small project but since then hired them again and it has been a battle from start. Paid 1/2 up front so could buy materials, this was on Tuesday. Project was paint, make repairs, build new steps, and other smaller things to my house. Got money on Tuesday didn't come back till the next Monday with no supplies. Said since his business was 1 1/2 hour away from my house that would cut into working time. Remember he worked for me before at same place but now 3 hours driving time is factor in work time and purchasing supplies time. He rarely showed up before 11 am and left by 3 pm. He had to ask for more advance money because spent my money on truck repairs and so couldn't buy any paint. Already 2 weeks in so had to trust him or would loose $7000 and work barely done. The whole project was only supposed to be two weeks. Kept moving from one area to another never quite finishing an area. When got to painting chimney told us rotten. We agreed to additional $2800 to repair, replace, and make safe. Put it in writing too. His ideal of safe was to use particle board and pressed wood. When chimney man came to check told us would probably catch fire. When confronted him he was rude and argumentative so we asked him to finish what we had paid for and leave. We had luckily on paid $1400 on chimney so not out full amount of extra project but had already paid full amount in house repair. 5 days later came back to do this but only fixed couple things and left. We now have to pay someone to finish what we paid him for originally let alone the mess with chimney being unsafe. We have everything written out but can't afford to pursue in court because having to finish his leftovers. So beware of this business He is now harassing me with text messages.
