*PLS READ ALL* I cannot thank Dr. Mandelker and his staff for, once again, saving the life of my Italian Greyhound, Jasper. On this last bout of horrible illness, I had to take my dog to a veterinary hospital in the local area as it was a Sunday when his illness quickly reared its ugly head and they diagnosed him with a tumor! In the end, I found myself in tears and my pockets were several hundred dollars lighter! But, as always, Dr. Mandelker and his staff of Community Veterinary Hospital (CVH) were right on top of everything! The veterinary hospital ER that I had used was not forthcoming with any of the test results that they had done and Dr. M was left with just a single report from an outside laboratory. CVH was quick to schedule Jasper, as always, and as soon as I walked in the door, Dr. M was standing at the counter and, in his soft and kind demeanor said, "your dog doesn't have cancer." When he told me this, I had absolutely no doubt that he was right in his diagnosis and I was relieved instantly! We have been with CVH and Dr M and his staff for approximately 5 years now. My dog has been on the brink of death at least 5 times since we've been with him. However, Dr. Mandelker's wealth of knowledge and very genuine concern has been the key to saving Jaspers life so many times. Previously, we had been to a total of 4 different veterinarians and NONE are as knowledgeable and experienced as Dr. M and his staff! I, VERY HIGHLY, RECOMMEND COMMUNITY VETERINARY HOSPITAL! I went to the emergency clinic my dog was in desparate shape. They asked for $5k up front at 4:00am. They were only gonna watch him and put him on oxygen til morning. They refused to treat him unless I had all the money up front. Doc Mandelker opened up his clinic and treated my dog and saved his life. He had septus in his heart and the infection was keeping his valves from closing, his heart failure due to infection. The emergency clinic would never have diagnosed it in time. The only reason I still have my dog is because Dr.Mandelker. He treated him with $100.00 down and billed me the other $300.00 Those other clinics should be reported to the state for price gouging. I don't know what I will do when Doc retires, he is the last of the doctors who really care about saving pets lives, money comes secord or even third. No words can describe a man that single handedly gives you back your pet from the clutches of death. It gives me hope that this world isn't too far gone as of yet. I've found Dr. Mandelker 'starts small' - meaning he doesn't immediately fall back on expensive diagnostics - he has the knowledge and experience to oftentimes diagnosis and implement a care plan at prices affordable to most. I found Community Vet Hospital by accident while searching to get a 2nd opinion for my Kayti. I e-mailed the Pet Doctor, Dr Mandelker aka "Doc" with my concerns and in less than 24 hrs, he e-mailed me back saying he would like to meet her. I took her in, and he explained everything in laymen's terms, I could understand. The medications she was being given by the other Vet were totally useless & not helping what was wrong with her. I loss my Kayti Jo due to a collapsed trachea. The Staff & "Doc" did everything to help her, and they have so much compassion not only for the pets, but also the owners. I don't particularly agree with the previous poor reviews. Dr. Mandelker has taken care of my dog who has cancer for 2 years and him and his staff have been exceptional and very pleasant to work with. They're very knowledgeable and he has pioneered treatments to treat and even cure certain ailments in dogs and cats. They've taken very good care of my dog every time I've taken him there. I've had other vets try to do endless tests and X-rays and other things to rack up the bill and suck any money out of me. But Dr. Mandelker was knowledgeable enough to know my dog didn't need certain things done and was able to treat him and save me a lot of money. I would highly recommend him! read more

Dr. Mandelker and his team are the Best of the Best! AAHA certified, dedicated and CARING. Not only do I love them but my pets are happy and unafraid of going to the doctor. Jen and the team are so caring my pets come home spoiled! We had a recent health scare with one of our cats and the team went above and beyond not only to save his life but to keep me constantly informed about his condition with phone calls and text messages. Shortly after moving to Largo about one year ago, I was in need of a great Veterinarian. The staff at Largo Feed and Grain advised me that the best Vet in the area was Dr. Lester Mandelker, and I am extremely happy that I took their advice. Dr. Mandelker removed a fairly large fatty tumor from my Jack Russell Terrier, and she is now doing great. I could not be more pleased with Dr. Mandelker, assistant Cheryl, and office manager Mary. Dr Mandelker, Cheryl, Janet, Mary and staff have taken excellent care of my mini schnauzer, Saltie, for 10 years. Saltie has a few serious health problems, (pancreatitis, and COPD). They always take time with him and are very caring. We can always get in quickly if Saltie is having a bad time. I appreciate all the time and good advice you have shared over the years. We have been taking our cats to Community Veterinarian Hospital for over 23 years. Dr. Lester Mandelker and staff are so compassionate, knowledgeable and caring. I brought my dog in to see Dr Mandelker due to the fact that he had stopped eating, this is very rare for my dog because he is very food motivated. He is an 8 year old Aussie, we did blood work and x-rays to find that his spleen was enlarged and needed to be removed Dr Mandelker did a wonderful job on the surgery and my pet recovered very well almost too well because it's only 3 days after the surgery and he thinks he is a puppy again. For many, many years, Dr. Mandelker has been my trusted veterinarian for all my dogs. He has always given them the best care available and was always a sympathetic, caring professional. When traveling to Virginia, Nevada, Texas and other destinations, when one of my dogs needed a doctor, many times I had them check with him for a second opinion and most of them knew of him and were glad to do so. Our cat has feline Herpes and was getting worse. switched vet to Dr. Mandelker at Community Veterinary Hospital explained how to he was going to handle our cat. Before the week was over his outbreak was gone! I went back for the check up to show him the result and wanted more medicine to continue treating our cat. But Dr. Mandelker explained that the herpes is still there but not breaking out and explained what to do when the first sign of breakout occurs in the future. read more
