I love the events such as wine tasting - I think it was over 60 wines; the in-depth Pilates events, they recently updated the gym equipment, the coaches are great with fabulous playlist and there are a lot of community focused events. It's a really big tennis facility so if you're in to racket sports, this is the place for you. I still have my LT membership and that being said the locker rooms need an update. Integrating to a system that allows me to schedule tennis, massages etc as well as scan into the club would make things more convenient. I don't have traditional car keys so having to carry a single tiny card with me can be a bit frustrating. They are contract based - 1 year minimum but there is definitely value if you live or work in the area.

While we've noticed some welcome improvements recently, there are still a few areas that could use more attention. After COVID, the overall maintenance of the club noticeably declined. It's encouraging, though, to see positive changes lately -- the towels are finally looking bright and white again (instead of gray), and the wipes and towels in the workout area are being replenished regularly. Those small improvements really make a difference. We didn't get to enjoy the outdoor pool much this past summer, partly due to all the rain, but also because the pool maintenance wasn't at its best. Leaves and dead bugs often collected in the water, which made it less inviting. Hopefully, that's something that can be improved before next season. One thing that has remained consistently great over the years is the front desk staff. They're always friendly, welcoming, and make it a pleasure to visit the club -- their attitude really sets a positive tone for members. Overall, Windy Hill has come a long way, and we appreciate the efforts to bring it back to the standard it once had. With continued attention to cleanliness and facility upkeep, it could easily be one of the best clubs in the area again. MRS says: I'm actually no longer a member but still come in as a guest. I especially enjoy dining at the café -- the shakes and salads are always fresh and delicious, and it's a nice spot to relax after a visit.

I came for a 6 am Barre Fusion class to kick off my week of unlimited classes. It was MLK day so…read morepeople may have opted to sleep in because there was only one other person in attendance. The instructor Ashley was welcoming and explained the difference between Forme and other barre studios. As it was described, and as I would soon learn, the difference was in bigger motions. Barre workouts tend to involve a lot of subtle pulsing motions. At Forme the movements are bigger which meant I'd be activating more muscle groups and getting my heart rate up. They incorporate some smaller motions as well. For the Barre Fusion class we did standing work for a while and then eventually transitioned to the floor for glute and core work. Ashley's cues were very helpful. We ended up using a resistance band, a small ball, and a single glider. It's crazy how you can get a great workout in with such small and unassuming equipment. By the end of class I left feeling challenged but still really good. The 55 minutes went by quickly. I knew I got a great workout when I felt sore later that evening. I also got to meet the owner Donna as the next class was getting ready to start and she was really sweet. She let me know that aside from the classes they also host social events which is nice. The other classes I tried: Barre Fusion Lift This class incorporated a weighted bar into the exercises. There was quite a bit of pulsing, squats, and lunges (front, reverse, side, and curtsy lunges). The bar was used during the ab/core section as well which really kicked things up a notch. We also used resistance bands and a small step stool. Overall I really liked this class. The pace was upbeat and there was minimal rest which kept things challenging. This class was 55 minutes. Barre Fusion Sculpt This class incorporated more ballet-inspired moves (plies and releve when we were at the barre) than Barre Fusion Lift but the tempo/pace was very much upbeat. The hand and ankle weights added more resistance and with the high reps there was a good burn throughout. The instructor, Lauren, was energetic and motivating which made the 55 minutes go by quickly. Booty Barre This class was the most ballet-esque of all the classes I tried. Donna was really good about giving people modifications either to make the moves more challenging (stand in releve) or to accommodate people with injuries. I wasn't drenched in sweat by the end but I got a good glute and quad burn. Just as a note in terms of overall level of difficulty, I'm very active (I workout five times a week) and consider myself to be in good shape. I found the Forme classes to be fun but challenging. Other details: Toward the end of each class the instructors came around and placed wipes by our mats so we could wipe them down. They have open cubbies where you can store your belongings, two changing areas, and a bathroom with toiletries and a hair dryer. The parking lot is shared and on the smaller side but I never had issues getting a spot (I exclusively came to the 6 am classes). Overall I really enjoyed my week of classes and will be incorporating Forme classes into my workout regimen.

They always do something for holidays (I.e. whole grain tortilla chips and salsa for cinco de mayo etc). It's a fun gym to belong to! Would get 5 stars if there was a pool! Maybe rooftop? No? Ok. ;)

Fit to Be is located in the same building and on the same level as American Roadhouse. There's plenty of parking in the lot behind the building, and the studio has a small lobby area to wait in before classes start. They have a single room for classes, but it has a sliding barn door in the back, making it possible to conduct private training sessions at the same time a larger class is going on. Other reviews note that classes are capped at 15, but I've never had more than twelve. I have yet to take a class with Julie (the owner, acclaimed in many other reviews), but that's because I'm such a huge fan of Bryn's Ballerobica class at 9am on Saturdays. Barre or ballet-inpsired classes are a dime a dozen these days, but Ballerobica is the best I've found. It adds an aerobic element to the standard core exercises, so you feel like you've gotten a much bigger calorie burn. Plus, Bryn is a phenomenal teacher- she pushes without yelling and she is continually upbeat without being fake. Everyone -from students to teachers - seems genuinely glad to be there. I leave class feeling upbeat (and sweaty) which is exactly what I'm looking for. Though I discovered Fit to Be through Classpass (which is awesome, by the way), these are classes I might actually pay extra to be able to attend more of them than the three per month Classpass limits you to. At just $15 for one drop in class (and packages that go down in cost from there), Fit to Be is also one of the more reasonable gyms I've found. I can't wait to try more classes, because Fit to Be is certainly as good as it gets!

Anyways, i believe it was my instructors first day or something like that, Reeves T. is who i saw on the instructor's name on the app. Well, i couldn't tell it was her first day or anything and i gotta say her flow and vibe with the music she played really got me in the mood and connected with myself. I have been working with Rae at Pinnacle for about six months now. We have a meal plan and exercise plan that works for me. I work out twice per week and eat right. I have lost 44 pounds since June. At times the gym felt overcrowded and louder than expected, not because of members or music but rather trainers and their environment. I also found communication regarding policies, scheduling and member concerns to be inconsistent. One of the main reasons I joined EpiFit Club was to be part of a community focused on growth, encouragement and inspiration. Unfortunately, my experience did not reflect those values. I observed behavior that felt cliquish and unwelcoming which is a distraction from the positive atmosphere I was hoping to find. Based on my experience, I do not plan to renew my membership. I also intend to share my experience will other review platforms so prospective members can make informed decisions.

This is a review for the pool…read more The pool at the WoodPEC is a glorious olympic-sized indoor masterpiece! I normally do not like indoor pools because of how humid and warm it usually gets and will opt for the outdoor pools for this reason. However, because I spend about an hour in the pool each day, outdoor pools wreck havoc on my skin. I am happy to say that this pool is the best of everything. The pool water is kept at a cool temperature and the ambient temp is not bad either. Another thing I love about this pool is that is does not get too crowded. Some nights, water polo or masters swimmers take lanes 6+ and the kids swim teams take up to lane 3. At these times, there are only 2 or 3 lap swim lanes open and that is kind of annoying, but I think that only happens 2 nights out of the week. Other things to note: - Kickboards and pull buoys are available to the public in large bins close to the guard chair. They also have those back brace floaty things... I don't really know what they're called but people use them to do water aerobics. There is a limited supply of kickboards and pull buoys, so they may run out if there are lots of people in the pool. - There is some natural lighting, but most of the lighting comes from huge overhead lights. There are no lights embedded in the walls of the pool, but the overhead lights are adequate. - Lifeguards are super friendly. - Locker room is quite small but it is generally empty unless the kids' swim teams just let out. Then it is packed with running (sometimes crying) children. There are 4 showers stalls with curtains for privacy, including a handicap shower stall. There are an additional 3 or 4 showers without privacy curtains. - You can "rent" a day locker outside of the women's locker room by trading your Emory ID for a locker key at the equipment desk.

The racketball court and studio seem well-maintained to me. About the facility itself, it hosts machines and free weights (like any gym), an Olympic-sized pool, rock-climbing wall, basketball court, tennis courts, as well as other facilities I can't think of right now. The people who have access to this gym have a great life! Haha. Other tidbits: - Free parking available in the ramp across the street after 4 pm. - They play hip-hop music in the weight room.
