I enrolled in a ClassPass course and followed the instructions on parking in their private but small lot. The instructor was very kind and helpful for demonstrating the movements before and during the workout. It was an intense workout that can be made harder or easier as you choose. The class we did was partner based but could still be customized to be by yourself. Amenities include lockers, showers, and a full gym on both levels. Would come again! read more

I got up on the morning of Mar 29, 2025 looking for a good HIIT class and came across The Training Room through a quick Google search. I had never heard of this business before today--but after my experience, I won't be returning and can't recommend it. I arrived about 10 minutes after an 11:30 AM class had started. After paying for parking, I realized I was likely too late to join and figured I'd check with the front desk to see if there were any other class options later in the day. That's when things took a troubling turn. Before I could even finish my sentence, the front desk attendant cut me off with, "I'm going to have to ask you to leave." No greeting. No attempt to understand why I was there. Just a sudden and dismissive response that felt more punitive than professional. I asked if I was being treated this way because of the color of my skin. Rather than engage with the concern, the attendant grew defensive, and the tone became even more uncomfortable. Later, I received two follow-up calls from the business. The first caller claimed the attendant "felt scared" because I challenged her response--even though that same caller admitted the situation could have been handled better. That framing--where a Black man simply questioning poor treatment is spun as a threat--is not only tired, it's dangerous. The second call, from someone identifying as a manager or owner, was the most disturbing. Instead of showing concern or professionalism, she took an even more condescending and defensive tone. She accused me of "playing the race card"--a classic tactic used to deflect from accountability--and then said, "Good luck navigating life" & also stated that "my life is going nowhere." Those comments were clearly meant to demean and dehumanize me, as if to remind me of "my place" for daring to speak up. This is the very definition of racism: I raised a concern about being treated differently due to race, and her response was racism--dismissive, disrespectful, and retaliatory. What should've been a simple inquiry about a class turned into a demeaning and racially charged experience. From the front desk to leadership, the energy I received was exclusionary, unprofessional, and deeply offensive. If you're looking for a gym that treats everyone with dignity and respect--this isn't it. I feel compelled to respond to the false and inflammatory claims made by the owner of The Training Room. Let's walk through the facts--logically and chronologically: 1. I found The Training Room through a Google search. I had never been to this business before. As a first-time visitor, I was unfamiliar with any late arrival policies. Why would I get up on a Saturday morning, pay for parking, and walk into a place I had never visited before just to "harass" a staff member I had never met? That accusation is not only illogical--it's offensive. 2. I arrived about 10 minutes after the 11:30 AM class had started. Realizing I was likely too late to join, I simply approached the front desk to ask if there were any other class options available later in the day. 3. Before I could even finish my question, I was immediately told, "I'm going to have to ask you to leave." No greeting. No inquiry into why I was there. Just an abrupt, dismissive response. I left the gym voluntarily without escalation--and immediately called the gym's management, as I was informed the owner was not present. 4. I later received two phone calls. * The first from someone identifying as the owner, who claimed the front desk staffer felt "scared." * The second from someone identifying as the Manager, who not only accused me of "playing the race card" but explicitly insulted me, saying my "life is going nowhere" and wishing me "good luck navigating life." During that call, she stated the conversation was being recorded, to which I responded, "Good, I'm glad it is." 5. The owner's public response is dishonest. * There were not "30-50 witnesses" to the interaction; the immediate area was largely empty. * At no point did anyone explain a policy to me until after the situation had already escalated unnecessarily. You continue to avoid the core issue: I, a first-time Black customer, was treated with suspicion and hostility the moment I walked through the door, without cause. Instead of reflecting on this, you have chosen to discredit, gaslight, and misrepresent what happened. Calling out anti-Black racism is not harassment. I stand by every word of my experience. I have video footage of the initial exchange, a written record of your messages, and I am pursuing legal guidance. I won't be silenced--and others deserve to know exactly how this "inclusive" space treats people when accountability is on the line. This experience--and your handling of it--speaks for itself. read more

I searched through their site to get a personal trainer. I saw Bo seemed to be experienced and he was one of the first on their list of trainers. Reached out to get a personal trainer to work with but very poor experience. First, their process is very slow to get an inquiry from a trainer. I literally just wanted a quote but can't even get the details I need. Ridiculous! Once Bo got back to me after about 4 days, he sent me a form to answer questions. Very impersonal. Usually, in my experience they would call you and try to get to know you and what you're looking for. After I filled out the form, the trainer literally responded via email and said "I don't think we'd be a great fit" and proceeded to not tell me why and then passed me off to other trainers with no explanation or details on the trainers. He also responded and still did not give me a quote. So rude and discriminatory! Rather than call me, he gave me a long paragraph stating that he "tends to shy away from cost-conscious customers". I didn't even bother to read the rest because I was so disgusted by his behavior and treatment toward me. Also, how can you maintain clients if you aren't willing to accommodate them? Give them the quote, show the options. How much is it for 30 minute training session? How much is it for a 60 minute session? Never have I received this poor treatment from a trainer before and a serious lack of care, kindness, and transparency. Very poor experience. Wow! So disrespectful! It's not that hard to provide a quote to someone so they can be aware of what they'll expect to pay. Is it $60 an hour, 30 minutes? $100 an hour? Just tell me the price. Don't dance around things and be completely rude, discriminatory, and disrespectful to people. It's already been hard to find a good personal trainer in Atlanta and dealing with this was ridiculous. So impersonal and quite frankly rude. I thought this would be a great place and it's well rated but the lack of organization and professionalism is very off-putting. I DO NOT RECOMMEND this place at all and that trainer. Utterly disrespectful, discriminatory, and rude. read more

The training room is a two-story building located on the east side beltline Trail. Known for being a great work out the training room provides two types of classes strong and lean. Strong classes resemble a CrossFit style except without the overhead weight lifting. It is much safer than an actual CrossFit class but it's similar and it's style and programming. Mondays Wednesdays and Fridays are upper body movement small Tuesdays and Thursdays are lower body movements. Weekend classes resemble a Mac con style class. Lean classes are more dumbbell focused rather than barbell focused. They follow the same schedule in terms of upper and lower body movements. The lean classes have more time focused on conditioning compared to the strong classes. I have gone to this gym for over four years and have thoroughly enjoyed all my time there. The trainers are very nice and accommodating and the staff as well rounded. Amber the owner is also fantastic and inserts some fundraising events and other fun classes to keep things interesting. If you're looking to get into fitness or challenge yourself and your current fitness regimen I highly recommend checking out the training room as it is a great option along the beltline. read more

Hands down my favorite workout in Atlanta. They offer 3 different workouts: Strong, Lean, and Box. Each day of the week focuses on different muscle groups and this is consistent across the classes (although I can never remember which days are which). Strong is more of a traditional Crossfit/weightlifting class while Lean is focused on HIIT exercises and relies on lighter weights/higher reps, and Box is, well, boxing. I would say this gym is like crossfit lite, and by that I mean crossfit without all the pretentiousness. You are definitely supported here if you want to lift as big and heavy as possible, but you can also feel totally comfortable if you've never done a weightlifting class a day in your life. There is a bit of an insider feel to this place--not really clear signs/direction on where to go for the classes if it's your first time attending, and most people are members/regularly attend the same classes so it can feel like you're a bit of an outsider at first but keep showing up and you'll fit right in and get a hell of a workout while you're at it. Classes fill up quickly (with the exception of weekend classes) so be ready to book a week+ out. read more

Went to a class within training room this morning at Hip Fit. Hip fit is a room in the back of training room buiding. A person from outside the gym was able to walk in get into the back room and steal several cell phones, wallets and keys while the pilates class was going on. Only after a confrontation with a class goer insued with the perp did we get our stuff back. The owner to the gym eventually walked outside and seemed to have no idea what was going on. She said her dog died and she didn't want to deal with it. Only when the cops started speaking and wanted to speak did she even care that all these people just had all their stuff stolen. She said it's impossible to have a "security" guard at the front, but literally every other gym in all of Atlanta has a front desk person to make sure people from the outside don't enter. This gym is not secure or safe for your belongings. Beware! read more

Signed up for the Get Fit! class via Class Pass. Let me preface this with saying that all of my Class Pass experiences up to this point have been exceptional. Now, on with the nitty gritty... To start, the place is very poorly marked from the road. It took me 2 wrong turns to eventually find the parking lot. Not a reason they lost stars on my rating, but still, rather frustrating at 5:45am. This facility advertises that they have lockers and showers for your convenience. They do not, however, advertise that these are UNISEX and FILTHY. Thankfully, I had shower shoes, otherwise, I would have likely chosen to go to work sweaty. The class itself was fine. The instructor, Lindsay, was very high energy, which was refreshing at 6am. Unfortunately, the exercises themselves were poorly explained, and she did not offer many variations for a first-timer. I will admit though, that when I did ask for help, she was very accommodating. Overall, I think I received more assistance from the other class members. To summarize: this class just isn't my style, which is fine. It's the reason Class Pass exists! (I would have been VERY disturbed if I had actually spent the $25/class fee). However, I felt my experience warranted a review because the facility is simply not up to par, and I wish I had seen a review and pictures before I attended. read more

I am an avid runner and recently joined ClassPass (which allows members to go to a multitude of different classes at gyms around the city). The Training Room happened to be one of the gyms on ClassPass. This gym is not for people who are looking for an easy workout. I have gone to a few classes here now and definitely get a good workout. I am always sore for days after... The class consists of different 'stations' where you do specific workouts either for a set amount of time or until you finish your reps. There are never too many people in the class, so you definitely get personalized attention. There are a lot of times for the classes, so it is convenient to find a time to go. The trainers seem to be good and know what they are talking about. Downsides: the showers/bathrooms are pretty gross. I am not the type of person who needs all the frills and amenities, but after seeing the showers, I decided that this gym would have to be a 'pm-only' workout for me because I wasn't going to get ready there. The parking is the only other thing that I didn't like about this gym. The parking lot is a tiny lot in the back of the gym that you get to by going through a tiny alley between buildings. If there aren't any more spaces, you have to make a nearly 10-point turn to get back out of the alley because the parking lot is so tiny. read more

This has to be one of the best gyms in Atlanta!! I started on Saturday and took the strong class, taught by Colleen. She has help me feel comfortable, and so eager to come back and sign up!! I just love her class!!She is so nice and explains everything I need to do correctly. The training room offers so many different classes to get me back to my training weight. Worth the drive from Dunwoody to VaHi on a Tuesday evening. I had some personal things to do in VaHi randomly one day and saw this gym was on CP - so I swung by afterwards! Parking: You have to drive in between 2 buildings. Very narrow path. I don't think I'd want to bring a huge car here. I have a Prius C and I was kind of worried, lol. But the lot isn't bad. I'd say... 15ish spots? Make sure to check in upon arrival! I think they hired a new girl for it too! I've taken Lindsay's class twice so far. She's great & hilarious. Very energetic & has an awesome attitude. I think it's her personality and helpfulness that brings people back. The workouts aren't easy. I'm in my mid 20s and I get pretty tired half way through. I should also note: I have the worst form. I'm a runner and never lifted anything in my life. Lindsay is one of the few coaches I've encountered on CP who will help you with techniques and forms... while making me feel better about it haha. I hate coaches who try to humiliate their folks. I'd definitely bring a full bottle of water. One of the rare gyms I've been to where I drink all of my water & wish I had an extra one! read more

I used to think training room was a CrossFit gym and wanted nothing to do with it - now I realize they offer HIIT and strength/conditioning classes which I am in love with. Monday - Chest, Tuesday- Squat, Wednesday - Shoulder, Thursday -Back/Deads... my favorite kind of week split right there. Burner 500 calories my first class while lifting heavy which I will take any day. Can't wait to go back. read more

I guess do you want fru fru bathrooms or results? I joined this gym in April 2014 and since that time, I've lost 15 lbs and two sizes. I was originally getting in shape for my wedding. Over time though, I realized that I was getting more out of the gym than just the physical benefits. I found a support network and friends! On days I was stressed, I looked forward to the training room for the physical benefits AND the mental/ emotional benefits. The Training Room is more than a gym.. they have become family in the last year ( I know it sounds cliche). If you really want a gym that pushes you to be your best self, then this is the gym for you. If you want to stay unhappy and out of shape, but have lemon oil soaked towels to refresh with, then I suggest that you go somewhere else. To address the previous review- There is one unisex locker room, but there is also a private bathroom. They are also about to take over the upstairs so that there are two large separate locker rooms. I know that I've done sports my whole life. Ive always been in relative shape, but I never got RIPPED in such a quick period of time until I joined this gym. The programming is awesome and so are the people. They also have LOW injury rates at this gym! Massage therapy and PT in house. I've used those guys help me recover from a soccer injury (one that happened before joint this gym). Since joining, Ive also taken 4 minutes off my 5k time ( at the end of a triathlon) without doing dedicated running outside of class. Again if you want to get quick results that are injury free and do it in a supportive environment, then this is the place for you! read more

I used to do the class pass circuit but really felt at home with The Training Room. The coaches all know my name and make me feel welcome and comfortable learning how to lift and work out safely while putting increased demand on my body. I'm seeing results like I never have before and those have markedly improved my performance with competitive cycling. I also really appreciate that TR knows that life happens - like when my car wouldn't start this morning and they moved me into a later class. I have been with The Training Room ATL as a member for nearly two years - I have attended the fitness classes, personal training, yoga, massage, physical therapy, nutrition seminars, and open gym (and occasional member BBQ). I have watched a passionate owner turn a small business into a thriving community. In two years I have seen myself transform, learn to accept that being "strong" is in fact a good thing, accomplish things like pull-ups and toes to bar that I never thought I would accomplish, and I have been supported every step of the way (and on days where I don't want to show up, gym staff and members have reached out to make sure I was really just late and would get there). The level of fitness comes with a certain level of sweat (and I am sure I have shed tears and probably a little blood somewhere at one point). We throw weights around, we chalk our hands, we drip sweat all over the floor, and it is a sense of accomplishment to leave a sweat angel behind. And with all the sweat (and tears) comes what makes The Training Room ATL stand out - it is the stellar programming, the commitment to every member being their best physically and emotionally. There are some things I'm not a huge fan of - like the HS locker room type bathrooms and the current parking situation, but it's not enough to keep me away! I really like this place, the trainers are great, prime location & the workouts are KILLER. Plus, once the valet parking (!!!) begins, I will really have nothing to complain about! read more

I came to the Training Room through Class Pass and took the STRIP Arms and Back class. Although parking is a little confusing if it's your first time, my over experience was great! I liked that I felt like I had plenty of space to work out and didn't feel crowded. The workout itself was really good and left my arms and abs sore for days. Can't say enough positive things about this place. Having been injured at a traditional Crossfit gym many times (I'm no muscle jock for sure) I swore I'd never join anything remotely similar and put off going here for a long time. Friends finally convinced me to check out The Training Room and so glad I did. Amber the owner and main programmer had also been injured and knows how frustrating it can be. Thus her programming eliminates some injury prone Crossfit exercises and focuses manically on form. If you can check your ego at the door and deal with a coach telling you to lower your weight because of poor form, then this is the place. That said, the intensity of the workouts is much much greater than a CF box. You will be working hard for almost a solid hour. The result? Two years of fun, injury free (well other than usual aches and pains) workouts. Feeling healthier and stronger than ever. Throw in their superb in house masseuse Javier and their amazing one of a kind physical therapist, holistic expert Lauren (she teaches and trains some of the top CF games athletes in the region), super friendly members with no attitude and you've got an unbeatable combo that you'd be hard pressed to find elsewhere. Rounding out the team are enthusiastic coaches and personal trainers with a TON of experience including professional and collegiate sports teams (Lindsey and Coach Charles have more years experience and training than they care to admit) and will make sure you are on the right track. OK there is one downside - parking can be a pain during some of the peak hours but it is right next to the belt line so no excuses really. Definitely worth checking out!! read more

I hit this place twice while visiting Atlanta using classpass for the GetFit! group class which is like a metcon with a strength component. It was a thoroughly good workout, I felt I got the cardio conditioning while getting my strength in. There is a WOD (work out of the day) on the white board and they were challenging and some were pretty technical if your a novice but many people modify and are not deprived of a workout. As another reviewer said there were multiple stations where you will circulate with small groups (one day it was individuals between box jumps, sumo dead-lifts with Olympic bars), medicine ball slams and kettle-bell swings. I seldom fail to finish within the time limit but I only finished round three of four when twenty minutes expired- partially on account of some horrific allergies slowing me down. The instructor was great and encouraging, he did pay attention to form as well. I found the facilities to be fine, Ive been to plenty of places and many dont even have showers so it was a relief to find a place where i could clean up after. Bring your own towel. Nice sample sized amenities in the locker room btw. It is a little confusing to find this place, in the back of a building but its worth discovering for yourself and next time Im in atlanta I'll be sweating there. read more

I've tried a few different Crossfit gyms around Atlanta, and while this isn't exactly "crossfit" it's been the best workout I've had by far. I've now been a member for over two years, and love it. The programming is amazing - constantly challenging you to do new and different things, and it's always different. In fact, I've never done the same workout twice. The coaches are great, the equipment is great, but the best part is the quality and thoughtfulness of the programmed workout each day. It's great for people of all fitness levels, from true beginners to advanced crossfitters, and everything in between. Try it, you'll get an amazing workout and do things you didn't think you could. read more

There will never be enough that I can ever say about this place. Each and every trainer pushes me to my absolute limit but also reminds me to never quit. The Training Room has taught me that no matter where you are in your fitness journey that we are all there reaching to become stronger in all aspects of our lives. Yes, I'm a fan. If you are a baby b*tch, do not come here. I am practically a baby b*tch myself so I can say that. This workout is hard. Most of the people in the class are in excellent shape, like suns out guns out kind of shape, probably because they come here. Nobody really high fives each other (that I've seen) or encourages you to keep going when you want to puke your guts out, so if you like that kind of community feeling, you're better off at FitWit where the workout is similar and also very challenging (but maybe a notch down from here) but the instructors know your name on day one and strangers tell you good job. The people in the training room are perfectly nice, just not as openly inviting as a few other places I've been to--which is totally fine. I like the training room because I like to feel like I almost died in my workout, and the only way I'll do that is if I go to a class where people tell me what to do. The music is great, the facilities are very nice, spacious, the workouts are well designed, and the instructors are good although like I said, not really the "you can do it, keep going!" kind of atmosphere that I appreciate, especially if you're trying to back in shape or were never in shape to begin with. read more

The Training Room is the first gym I've actually enjoyed going to. (I'm more of an outdoor, no-frills fitness kind of girl). The coaches are all positive, resourceful, and most importantly, know what they're talking about. The programming is well thought out and easily modified if that is something you need. People of various fitness levels attend all classes so the gym is very approachable in that regard. Also, the most woman friendly gym I have ever attended. Highly recommended. read more

I have been going to the training room for a little more than a year now. I have a fantastic trainer, Ariella Faitelson, who has totally transformed my entire body. I have lost over 50 lbs, and gone from 2 XL scrubs to medium scrubs and improved my strength and endurance. I have found muscles I didn't even know I had. I love to run, and Ariella has cut 5 minutes off my running time. Ariella is an amazing trainer, always encouraging, motivating, and varies the routine every workout to keep it fresh. But the entire gym is like a family. Everyone is supportive and encouraging of each other in their workouts and their progress. If your looking for a gym to call home, this is definitely this place. If your looking for trainer, I highly recommend Ariella Faitelson!!!!!! read more
