10 years ago the FBI Virus took down my computer. A decade later I had a problem with the monitor going into autosleep. It took three hours to get the situation dealt with. Why? Just finding all the problems was a tough nut to crack! Comp-U-Talk's people got it figured out and did a very nice job of it. What is surprising is to see this computer business still around while so many in the CB-NB area have closed up for good. That must be due to them actually being good! I just hope in 10 years they are still around when the next time for digital indigestion comes around...LOL! read more

I chose Computer Talk because of their reviews and I was happy to find they did not disappoint in any way. Jerry was polite and helpful on the phone and at the shop, no high pressure, just gave me the prices and options I needed to decide what to do about my laptop and what I thought was a "blue screen of death." Fixed it in about 20 minutes even while he was multi-tasking with three other drop in customers. Charged me a minimal amount, much less than quoted. That's what I call great service. read more

My wife's and my computers both crashed one morning. We called Comp-U-Talk and hauled them down a couple of days later. Jerry explained his backlog, told us that he wouldn't be able even to start on them until that Friday. Instead, both were complete Friday afternoon. In addition to software upgrades for my wife's machine, and a refurbished hard drive (my aching heart, but folks, back up your files!), Jerry also cleaned them completely, inside and out. I've only been here once, so I'm leaving their rating at 4 stars for now. (Keeping one in the chamber, I guess....) I was using a low-price laptop which started acting sketchy, so I brought it in for a tune-up. The tech called me within 24 hours and told me the hard-drive was on its way out and irreparable. I, naturally, was a little skeptical, but they didn't try to sell me anything, so I figured they were legit. I decided to buy a new machine online, on the tech's assurance that he could save the data files I'd accumulated. (I did have backups, but moving them to a new computer with a new OS is above my pay grade.) Long story short - I brought the new PC in and they were able to move the old photos, music and document files to it with no losses. They also installed some protection software, set up the other apps I'd bought, and gave me some basic lessons on Windows 10. I was charged only the basic rate for data recovery. I would definitely recommend this business. read more

I bought a Windows desktop from Comp-U-Talk in Jan 2014 when I lived in North Bend, Oregon, and since the product and service were excellent back then, I decided to buy my next Windows desktop from them this past December. I live in California now, but it was no hassle ordering a new desktop from them and getting it shipped to my home. They built it from scratch. It started up out of the box with no problems. Weeks later, when another software program that I had subsequently bought and downloaded caused the computer to crash, I called Comp-U-Talk for help in getting my computer up and running again. Laura-Lee Edwards was the tech who helped me and she walked me through the process of getting it working again, at no charge. Laura-Lee is also the one who built my new computer from scratch. I am looking forward to this computer lasting 7-10 years like the last Windows desktop that I bought from them. The previous one still works; I just wanted something this time with much more ram and hard drive capacity. Comp-U-Talk delivered. I recommend buying from them instead of the big, national companies. Comp-U-Talk can build you a new system from scratch and ship it anywhere. They only sell you what you truly want or need, their prices are reasonable, and they service what they sell. read more

This business is iconic in Oregon's Bay Area! They've been providing services for PC users for decades and you just never hear a bad word spoken about them. Nice, very nice people... and obviously they are providing a much needed service around here. If I ever get over my Mac Addiction (not likely) I would absolutely trust my PC to these fine folks. Ya know... they kind of remind me of electricity. It works, and keeps working but you don't hear people talking much about it. It's expected that it will keep on keeping on. Just like Comp-U-Talk!!! I needed a pure Bluetooth keyboard and called or visited 8 different stores (many didn't answer phones even when open) before finding Comp U talk who had what I needed and had great customer service calling me back when I was having trouble with phone connection.
