Specialties

I am a home birth midwife who specializes in normal. I follow a pregnant woman from early pregnancy through six weeks post partum for her and the baby. I do routine prenatal appointments, focusing on great nutrition to help both the woman and her baby. I believe that women can be greatly empowered during this season of life. I walk alongside the woman, never dictating what should or should not be done. I encourage women to exercise, eat a healthy diet and have a positive attitude. I offer water births for each of my clients. It is called a midwifes natural epidural. I am fully trained in neonatal resuscitation and all birth emergencies. I keep my skills sharp by attending births in Haiti at a non-profit free clinic called MamaBaby Haiti. I go at least once a year to serve the Haitian women. I am also part of the organization by being in charge of all the volunteers that go over and I keep the supplies current at the clinic. I trust birth and trust the Mama and baby.

History

Established in 2014.

I started my own business in 2014. I opened my own office last summer 2016. I serve women in all walks of life. I also serve the Amish up in Brown City and Marlette area.

Meet the Business Owner: Jill R.

I told my children while they were growing up that someday when they were all grown and gone I would become a brain surgeon. Little did I know at the time my husband and I would continue to bring children into our home into our 40's. When the last little chick flew the nest I was too old to be starting out in neurosurgery! I would be collecting Social Security before I finished the long 12 years. We served a pregnant foster daughter some years back and I was asked to be her labor coach. After walking out of that birth I knew what my calling should be. I have always believed that pregnancy and birth are just a natural season in a woman's life, not a disease to be managed. I have always love learning and teaching so becoming a midwife became a natural fit for me.
