Got a second opinion at a different shop and the actual repair was $170 with parts!!! Also, my bank card is missing... Posted about my experience on social media without bashing them.. only asking others about their experience and sharing parts of my story. Several came forward with similar stories about high quotes for work that didn't actually need to be done. Then the owner and an employee starting commenting on my post lying... "they ever saw me." The employee even said he would never take a bank card because that would hurt his reputation.. oh and not because it's immoral? They may do honest work for their friends but IMO one or more mechanic at this location is not shy to try and scam who they can. Think about it... if you go along with their story of what needs to be fixed and the work starts, you can't protect/heLo yourself later/realize that wasn't the actual part that needed to be replaced... they do whatever they want. Always get a second opinion. They tried to get me because I came in naive and saying I had no clue about cars. Thank god my bf knew better when I called him crying.

I told them my problem with the exact cylinder that was misfiring, provided them with the spark plugs and the only thing they needed to do was to borescope the cylinder that takes less than 15 minutes. They are scamming people with their labour time. they said at the end a valve was not sitting well. That would have taken 20 minutes max. Do not go there. on a previous job I paid them $5000 dollars for a chain replacement. after that everyone I spoke said that was a robbery, and I still went to them. however this time they went too far and really wanted to take me for a fool, with $800 dollars for a job I already did. I was driving around with something hanging off…read morethe front end of my car and dragging on the road so I could not drive it around anymore like that. I was pretty desperate, and they were the closest place to me. As soon as I walked in, I was greeted with a friendly guy asking what the problem was. I told him about the dragging piece, and he did not try to tell me I needed a whole diagnostic run down like other places have when I've gone in for minor repairs...In 5-7 minutes he drove my car out of the bay and returned my keys with a smile. When I asked how much I owed him, he said...no charge. I'm not sure if he was the manager or owner but they have a new customer for life.
