Just moved to the state and chose the closest local mechanic shop to do inspections. It was the easiest state inspection experience I've had. Went for both my cars. Each time took only a few minutes and they took me immediately. My older car has some minor issues that other mechanics have gotten hung up on (which has led to me being really nervous to go to inspections at all) but these guys didn't give me any issues. Besides, the shop has a great vibe and has a bunch of funny posters to cheer you up. If the older car has any issues that need work (I'm certain it will) I'd be happy to take it here. Earlier this year I needed to have a window replaced on my car. Super friendly staff, and the price for parts and labor was surprisingly reasonable. Today I brought my car in for a state inspection, oil change, and 4 new tires- I couldn't believe how quickly they were able to work me in despite being busy, and again the price was great for what I needed. It's really difficult to find a local auto mechanic shop that is honest and reliable, but this team is knowledgeable and will not rip you off. Plus their dog Maggie makes for great company while you wait. 10/10 definitely recommend CARS. read more

CARS is wonderful. From the initial phone call to checking out, everyone I encountered was great. I had my Subaru dealership tell me they were unable to patch my tire with a nail. That being said, I set out to purchase new tires. CARS was where I called first and got a great price quote. I night dropped the Subaru off and received a call from Kenny in the afternoon asking why I needed new tires. He said I had plenty of life left on them. I explained I had a nail in one. The mechanic looked at the tire and decided they could safely patch the tire. Kenny called back to tell me the plan and saved me $500+ Tell me, how many other mechanical shops would do this?? I love this place!! Everywhere I move I always look for a locally owned shop that will exclusively take care of my cars. This place was recommended to me by a neighbor and I'm glad he did. The prices are fair, I understand that it's a business and they need to make profit but I never feel over charged or upselled. The mechanics are passionate about their jobs and care about their work. After going to them for about a year, my car broke down on a trip to King's Dominion. It wasn't too far from their place and I had it towed. They immediately went to work on it and even skipped their lunch break. They told me what I needed and showed me the problem then they got to work. Definitely recommend them!! read more

Extremely reliable, no one is trying to screw you over. Honest service, no surprises when your car is finished. They always keep me informed of what is going on with my car and give me the option to take a look under the hood with them so I can see what is wrong, too. Also, SOLID and best place for a car inspection. You are literally in and out, even on the times I've needed a bulb replaced! Have taken our cars to this place since we moved here about 13 years ago. Billy, the owner, is awesome! He treats you fairly and always guarantees his work. We have 3 Honda's and all have extremely high milage. (Hubby commutes to Merrifield, Va everyday.....about 150 miles round trip). He counts on CARS to do any repairs and all our routine maintenance. He would not take his car anywhere else. I like using local businesses whenever possible! Great service at a great price!! read more

I dropped my Durango off at 10 a.m. this morning with no appointment and they had a new radiator ordered and installed by 5. No previous appointment. What an absolutely frustrating experience! I need a state inspection, so I call first to make sure they can do this service and am told to come in. I arrive....only to find out they only cash or check for inspections. When I ask why I wasn't told this when I called in, I was told, verbatim, "well, you didn't ask". I am highly irritated, but go to get cash...closest ATM is 5 miles away. Come back....am told that the "guy who does the inspections" isn't here anymore and probably won't be back until "sometime this afternoon". Seriously? You just lost my business and I will be telling others about this total lack of caring and professionalism. read more

We moved to WV a year ago. We used one other shop in the Ranson area that had a great website and seemed to promote great customer service. We took our car in the second time and were hit with an extra $400 cost after a brake job that was not completed correctly and sent me home with smoking tires. The shop refused to admit that they were at fault for not testing the car before sending it on the road. We found C.A.R.S after that expereience. We have been nothing, but pleased. We've never actually been in the shop. Everything has been done through the night drop and over the phone. We've had jobs done that are well below the average rate found online for the same repair. The car is returned in the condition left, not even as if anyone was in the car. We will continue to use this excellent shop! read more

Worst worst customer service ever. Went in yesterday and met with rude, gruff man at front desk. Asked about state inspection. Saw it was cash or check only which I don't carry on me. Said thanks I'll get that and be back. Called end of day and asked if needed an appointment for inspection or just come in. Said just come in. We open at 8:00. So I make arrangements with work so I can be there he next morning at 8:00. Same gruff rude man. Stuffing a donut in his mouth and then says name? Before I could even get out name he says "watcha need?" In a rude tone. I said state inspection. He said "Well we don't have stickers. Ran out of them." So from end of day to being there when doors opened ran out. Hmm. Would be nice to have known when called. And I don't care if that is "just his personality". He should be behind the door and not at the front desk. Sorry to say my husband has spent quite a bit of money there for repairs in past. Won't be back. read more
