Booked a DJ and Photo Booth from this company back in early January for a May wedding. Less than 2 weeks out we received a call from the owner, Mr. Loser, saying that our DJ and photo booth person were going to have a "family emergency" on the weekend of our wedding. We were given a DJ, Rachel, who was personally recommended by Mr. Loser. We set up a call with her few days later at which time we discussed the music we wanted played at cocktail hour, for the special dances, and during the open dance floor portion of the reception as well. The online preference sheet we completed provided multiple examples of songs from multiple genres spanning multiple decades and the desired slow songs and closing songs. We made it clear that we wanted those songs played and then whatever other songs the DJ chose that were similar/within that framework. Fast forward to the reception the intro and cocktail hour went well. The open dance floor was another story. Very few of the songs we wanted were played and the music was less than inspiring as no one was dancing. Many of our guests told us she wasn't at her table for long stretches of time. One of those times she was at the head table fetching drinks for the guys, never coming over to the girls side. Several of our guests as well as wedding party members attempted to remedy this with the DJ , he was immediately defensive and rude. I also attempted to talk to Rachel about the situation and was similarly met with a hostile and dismissive attitude. When i asked her to play songs that were on the list she said "you didn't give me enough songs to play". I said "then play songs like the genres we gave you" and she stated she would "run out of music if she did that". Peculiarly, the DJ on more than one occasion in the call the prior to the wedding nonchalantly asked that we provide a Spotify or YouTube premium playlist. Putting it all together now, I feel as though we were expected to choose every song on our own to fill the 5.5 hour reception. At that point, I would've just plugged my phone into a speaker instead of hire a DJ. On top of that, the intro song we wanted was/is one of the most popular songs on the planet right now, and when I requested it be played she had no idea what song I was talking about. We also requested songs to be played at certain times (including a few slow songs) but none of that happened either. We reached out to the owner the following day to discuss the events of the night prior. It was several days later before we were able to speak. Right from the get go the owner doubled down on the DJs rudeness and essentially said it was our fault we didn't give the DJ enough music. He we also entirely dismissive, completely rude, and acted like he didn't care at all. He did admit the slow songs were not played as requested and then said "personally I'm not a slow dance guy anyways." I'm sorry but that's not your call, it was our wedding, our money spent, and our preference sheet desire. We ended the call with him saying he had a refund amount in mind and we had one in mind. Mr. Loser stated he wanted to think 24 hours on it and he'd get back to us by the end of the week. This was a Wednesday. Well, it's now been 2+ weeks and we've heard absolutely nothing. Stay away from this company. They'll be sweet until they get their money. Then after that they'll ask you to send them a Spotify playlist for their DJ to play. I'm only giving it one star because the Photo Booth person was awesome. read more

John was very pleasant to work with. He is professional and had a great sense of humor. We loved how organized he was and his experience with small weddings was the perfect fit for us. We had a few different songs for the bridal party entrance to the wedding and those change overs were smooth. The songs during the wedding were also on point. My dad and I had a surprise mash up dance for our daddy daughter dance. John helped take the combination I had created and turned it into the mash up with smooth transitions. Each couple of the bridal party entered the reception to a different song of their choice, and John picked the perfect 15 seconds of each song to play for this! John suggested we do the anniversary dance with our guests and the snowball dance. We've never seen the snowball dance at a wedding before and it was a hit! Overall, he was a wonderful MC and DJ for our wedding. Would hire him again!! read more

We utilized the videography and dj services with Complete Weddings. DJ Steve did an incredible job and everyone gave lots of compliments of how good the music was. He was also very hospitable and offered to get our food and beverages. He made sure we stayed on schedule as well. Geoff was our videographer and even though we haven't gotten our video back yet, he was a pleasure to work with. He made sure everyone felt comfortable and captured many moments we will cherish forever! read more

Playing jazz music and some other slow background music for three hours was terrible. By the time the DJ played dance music people were already leaving. I felt so bad for the bride and groom. It was very apparent this DJ didn't know what he was doing. read more

Steve and Complete Wedding & Events were absolutely fantastic to work with! They were so professional, so much fun and yet so flexible at the same time! They were extremely communicative throughout the entire process. Steve was able to keep our guests on the dance floor the entire night! We used Complete Music's DJ Steve Ralph for our wedding. He came early to do the music for our outdoor ceremony, and provided the microphone for our friend performing the ceremony. Steve was more than helpful and accommodating! He aims to please. He was much more than a DJ/MC. He was bringing me and my Groom snacks and cake and always asking if there was anything we needed him to do. We provided our ceremony music and our "special" reception songs (first dance, garter toss, etc) and he figured all of it out and played the right songs even though I forgot to write down the track list (oops). Don stopped at nothing to make sure that Marc and I had the most incredible day of our lives! He went way above and beyond for us. From helping us with our last minute sound system needs for our ceremony to making the ultimate father-daughter dance mix, you truly exceeded our expectations and made our wedding day absolutely perfect. If anyone is looking for a DJ that will keep the dance floor moving, I promise you will not go wrong with Don! He didn't miss a beat! He was professional and personable throughout the entire event. Seriously the worst customer service experience I have ever had, not with the staff, but with the owner. I had originally booked COMPLETE as the photographer, videographer, DJ, and Photobooth for my wedding, and had a less than positive experience regarding the quality of our engagement photos, and called to explain my frustration and disappointment. Not only did the owner refuse to consider a reasonable compromise, but he proceeded to yell at, berate, and threaten me until I was sobbing and experiencing severe panic attacks. At no point was an apology given, but instead, the owner threatened to cancel my contract, which eventually I agreed to. Between the time I had initially called and when I had agreed to the cancellation of our contract, I had posted a review on a local Facebook bridal group; this resulted in a harassing voicemail from the owner, where I was met with veiled threats of a lawsuit based on my honest review of my experience. I do not recommend doing business with them, not because of the staff, but because of what I would consider the extremely unprofessional behavior of the owner. read more

I was apprehensive to pick complete at first because of the poor reviews online, but I decided to take a risk because I got a really good deal. (There is always ipods for emergencies right??) But I was super lucky because the night was AMAZING. Justin was assigned to my wedding and I would highly recommend anyone considering Complete to request him. Justin did an amazing job and really listened to my requests and needs. I sent him a giant play list with must haves and optionals and he really did his best to make sure the list was represented while making the dance floor enjoyable for all members. I can't gush enough about the music choices, my only complaint is that it was TOO GOOD and we wore ourselves out dancing so much! But it was such a good mix that even if you wanted a breather another amazing song would pop up soon after. Not only did he really work with the songs we wanted, but he did (per our request) the BEST Rick Roll of all time! He loved our idea so much that he ran with it and made everyone laugh so hard at the wedding. I also appreciated that he was so helpful in giving advice for the timeline and how we should proceed with events. We really loved his music choice throughout the night as it really represented what our hope was for the feeling of the night. I couldn't have picked a better DJ for the evening, he really made the evening something special, from acting as master of ceremonies to closing the evening with my favorite song, everything was on the top perfect. I would recommend Justin for any event, big or small. We had 40 people at the wedding and the dance floor was almost always packed!! At the end of the evening everyone complemented on how much they loved the music and how it was so much fun. Although there are many DJs with complete, some better than others, Justin is totally worth a premium rate. read more

We only beeded DJ service and Complete provided us with a wonderful DJ named Marcus. He was professional, experienced and truly made our reception special and memorable. I would highly recommend Complete and the price was very reasonable. read more

We had a very unfortunate experience with Complete Weddings DJ service. They will not assign a DJ until the week of the event, and the DJ we were assigned was not up to par or trained to work a wedding. The DJ was unable to command the attention of the room, and he did not know how to work his sound equipment. He told us if we really wanted any songs played we should give him a CD of these songs... Isn't that what you pay a DJ for? He couldn't take calls during normal business hours, and was inefficient in spending the time we could talk about things that were necessary to the wedding as opposed to just chatting with us. When I called the company after the wedding, they said thanks for your feedback...not exactly what I was looking for. read more

I want to share our disappointment with Complete Weddings and Events from Grand Rapids who provided the photo booth at my daughter's wedding. We don't want anyone else to experience their terrible service and inferior products. The list of things that went wrong is long including an unfriendly and rude attendant who sat in a chair on her phone most of the night, was inappropriately dressed, and didn't ask our guests to sign the album. We were told each guest would be asked to put a personal message in the album next to their photo strip. The album was a mess with some strips not glued down and about 20 strips missing. We were supposed to get an upgrade so others could watch those getting their pictures taken, but that didn't happen. And the list goes on. Complete Weddings and Events admits they didn't deliver what they promised yet they offered us an extremely low refund. After going back and forth, they raised it some but far from being satisfactory. Again, we strongly discourage anyone from booking them for their wedding. Please share so we can let as many people know so they aren't totally dissatisfied with their photo booth like we were. read more

I was initially so impressed with complete and I had even wished I went with them for photography. The service was great, response time was great, and the staff were very friendly. We met our dj a week prior to the wedding. He was laid back, cool, easy going, and I was confident that he would do a great job. He agreed to do a little bit of MCEE-ing as far as introducing the toasts that were going to be made, the wedding party entrance, cake cutting and first dance intros. I really believed he had it all down. However, the day of the wedding was a disappointment. He struggled to MCEE. He didn't know when to say what and skipped over some things. He had no excuses as I gave him documents a few days prior to the wedding stating the agenda, when he should say what, what he should say, etc. It seemed as if he didn't even review those documents! The worse part was when he sat down and starting eating without our invitation to do so. I actually didn't mind that he ate, however; I found that it was incredibly unprofessional that he had done so without our invitation. Besides the actual DJ, I had a good experience with Complete. Again, the best thing to do and advice I can give is to go with someone you have already met and work that you have already seen. That's really the best route. read more
