To be honest I'm shocked at the reviews I've seen here that are negative but then I also realize most people will only review this type of thing when they have a negative experience. I've had two babies in the last 3.5 years, my husband and I are trying for another & I wouldn't dream of going to anyone else. They made me feel so safe and seen throughout the experience of both previous pregnancies and births. They're very organized in the office and I never had to wait long after a scheduled appointment. Dr Julie Rekant is truly an angel. She makes me feel so safe and comfortable. She was very patient with me when I had a full meltdown during a procedure and is always reassuring. I have also seen Dr Buchberg for a consultation and she was very nice as well. She explained everything really well and I found her very trustworthy and kind. I have my first visit with Maria Crippin today and I will say I was highly unsatisfied, I would not recommend. Cons: she rushed through everything, did not answer any questions or concerns, did not mention any results during my appointment, and applied way too much pressure. I was very uncomfortable and all she cared about was getting her job done and seeing the next patient. Also, while I was waiting I heard a girl in pain getting her IUD removed, while Maria continued to perform her job. I was utterly discussed that I could hear everything, including their conversations on the other side of the room (HIPPA). Also, if you're working in a OB clinic you should not be wearing sandals. She also gave lots of rude facial expressions. Pros: front desk staff and Belinda were very friendly. read more

So come to find out, my wife was able to determine that this business attempted to file a police report on us and called the police a week after the fact upset over my Yelp review even though they lied and told her that she wouldn't be kicked out of the practice. 1: They claimed they felt threatened by my Yelp review. No threats present so I guess leaving a Yelp review is threatening in this new woke society. 2: They made the claim that I was argumentative or causing a problem while on scene during initial incident when I was only explaining how I was a disabled veteran, an American with a disability, and that multiple documented breathing issues of mine made it difficult for me to wear a mask. So when I was denied I decided it was best for me to wait outside. So this is threatening trying trying to explain yourself in this new woke society. 3: They claimed I was taking photographs and videos throughout the facility. Straight out lie. 4: They claimed I left in a threatening manner, but never did I make any any gestures, comments, sign language, eye contact, or anything to anyone. So I am being judged by the way I look because I look threatening. No different than being judged based off your age, sex, race, or religion. I am different. My experiences and beliefs have shaped me. It has cost me many people, but I am myself. Its better to lose others than to lose yourself to fit in. This is a crazy society we live in. read more

I've been with this practice for about 4 years, never had any major issues and had my first child with them However my 6 weeks postpartum appointment was a huge disappointment. I was going to see a Dr who delivered my child, but instead was able only to schedule a visit with NP Maria Crippen. I felt like my appointment was very rushed. She didn't check my cervix, didn't examine my breast ( considering I'm nursing my baby) and didn't check if I have diastasis recti or not until I asked her to do so. Completely waste of mine time and neglecting my postpartum body situation. Very disappointing experience. read more

I cannot recommend this practice to anyone due to the rudeness of their staff and unavailability. It is almost impossible to schedule straightforward annual exams for current patients and impossible when setting up a new patient. They could be more friendly and try to accommodate their patients. They may need to find new employees or have the doctors work past 1:30 to allow those of us who have to work for a living to see the doctor. I have left the practice and encourage anyone looking for a GYN to go elsewhere. read more

Finding an OBGYN can be tricky but I lucked out on my first try. I've been coming here for years and CWC has seen me through a lot. I can literally recommend a lot of their doctors. I've been seen Dr. Crabbe, Dr. Fish and most recently Dr. Wright. They have all been friendly and understanding of all my needs. I've also been seen by one of their nurse practitioners Patty, and she's awesome. The staff there has always been friendly and quick to get you checked in and checked out. I've also been seen at both of their offices. I prefer the Princess Anne office b/c it's closer to me but both are fine. They are also affiliated w/ Sentera so if you have to go to the hospital everything can transfer over pretty seamlessly. I definitely would give this place a try if you are looking for an OB. I don't think they will disappoint at all. read more

I just called to make an appointment to have my birth control removed that they implanted and the receptionist was rude and told me that they cannot guarantee that they could remove it. They are the ones that put it there! Now I have to look for another Doctor that can. read more

Worst experience ever! Scheduled me an appointment for 12:45. Victoria called me at 12:18 and left me a non emergency message to call back. So I called back and it said they were at lunch til 1:30. I pulled over and tried Calling to get a live person which made me late and they had the nerve to tell me I had to reschedule. Their could care less attitude that their phone is on auto lunch is really frustrating since they asked me to call back! They definitely inconvenienced me since I had to take a lunch break to go. I have been a patient at Complete Women's Care since 2002!! This year I have noticed changes in the front desk staff and it is horrible!! Twice I have been denied to be seen due to scheduling issues. Even if you have a scheduled appointment it is no guarantee you will be seen!! The staff talks about patients amongst each other at the front desk in the Princess Anne office, which is horrible and the staff at First Colonial are very unhelpful and unfriendly. The front desk manager never called back to reschedule my appointment like I was told, I had to call back the next day and now have to wait a week out to be seen!! I'm in pain and switching doctors due to the horrible front desk staff, the doctors and nurses are awesome, sucks!!!! Please safe your time and gas. This place has lost its professionalism and care for patients!!!! read more

Who has time to wait as # 12 in que? Expect a long wait before someone answers your call and an even longer wait before responding to a birth control refill once your annual appointment had been made. It's a shame the patients can't send you all the obnoxious auto recoded refill reminders like you send as reminders to make an annual visit appointment when unfortunately it had been made for two weeks. I had nothing but positive experiences at CWC during my pregnancy and for all other needs. They were wonderfully accommodating and answered all questions I had thoroughly. The facility was clean. Doctors and nurses were all professional. I had little wait time for my appointments. I will absolutely be returning for my next pregnancy! read more

I tried this place because my mom recommended it, I was given a pap smear that caused bleeding for 3 days and when I returned for the results I was told my sample had been left sitting too long and I would have to have another (I was pregnant at the time). Also a friend of mine was referred here from the ER (knowing full well she had no insurance) when she arrived for her appt they gave her the run around (let me see what I can do for you) before finally admitting they wouldn't even see her because she didn't have any insurance. They still have the nerve to charge her $200 for her "visit" though. I would suggest Mid-Atlantic Women's Care if you're looking for an OB/GYN. read more

After searching for a year for an obgyn who would believe that nerve damage to my leg had to do with either endometriosis or scar tissue, she went in and sure enough there were adhesions. I was super excited because they were accepting new patients and they were so nice on the phone and understanding of my situation. I switched to Tricare Standard. Then after about 2 weeks i get a phone call telling me they won't accept me as a patient because too many people were due the same month as me. Which seemed kind of ridiculous if you ask me. I do not want to change my rating for this facility, but I feel it is important to address the fact that I was trying to switch because I was nervous about going to Portsmouth Naval Hospital. I have to say there was nothing to worry about. I received the best care when I gave birth at Portsmouth. I am actually happy I didn't get moved! Funny how things work out. I went to get an ultrasound after emergency surgery where the surgeon saw cysts. I was never called back with any results, my calls went unreturned, and then I received a bill. I left multiple messages disputing the charge and was never called back. My insurance deductible was met by the emergency surgery, but since Complete Women's Care never returned my messages disputing the charge, they passed it onto collections and now I am told that there is nothing I can do except pay. So I payed thousands for my surgery, got no answers about my cysts, and am now paying more because of their poor customer service. I would not recommend. read more

Dr. Adler was rude when telling me that I had to get a Pap smear right then or I would no longer be a patient. She did not care that I was abused and had a history, she only cared about the money right then. I am pregnant and do not want to be violated by metal and plastic and cause stress on my baby nor invite bacteria to my baby's home! They do not care about a woman's right to refuse services they only care about making money. There is nothing that they could do with the information from a Pap smear as I do not have STDs and have had the same partner for 10+years. I just don't feel like they're really taking care of me and my unborn child. When i go in, all they do is ask question and then i pee and then i leave.. they sometimes take my weight. And when i get paranoid and call them, most of the time they're rude and very unpleasant to talk to. One of them told me that even if i feel that my question is stupid, i should give them a call coz its probably something.. which is why i call when something happened to me. But then i don't get enough answer and they make me feel bad when i call them coz they sound like i just wasted their time. read more

I have nothing but positive feelings about CWC and the staff, the doctors and nurses are amazing. My daughter is a patient and recently had some very serious complications very early in her pregnancy that resulted in admission to the hospital and a very early delivery via c section, Dr.Monique Crabb, Dr.Fish, Dr.Buchburg and Dr.Adler treated my daughter as if she was their child, never once did I have any doubts or questions about the excellent care she received. I thank them for not only saving my daughter but also my first born granddaughter! They are above and beyond excellent doctors! While in the office for routine visits we were always greeted with a smile, the nursing staff are all very educated, kind and compassionate. Melanie the OB coordinator is amazing, she is always available to help answer every question, provide comfort and support and is genuine! If I could give 10 stars I would! read more

When going to appointments its always nice to be seen close to your appointment time....but when going for a 3 hour glucose test it should be certain. Arriving early and then having to wait 25 minutes can really irritate a 7month pregnant woman..especially when the staff seems to blow off your irritation. Fasting...then having an extra 30 minutes to be in office bc of whatever reason (was never given an explanation...just a very insincere apology) is upsetting to most people. read more

It's unfortunate to be giving the office such a low review because the doctors here for the most part are really wonderful and helpful. I would highly recommend Dr Ward and Dr Patty Dudley (avoid Dr Fish-always in a rush and will quickly assume the worse diagnoses like it's nothing and then leave the room only to find out later your results were negative and Dr. Adler-very good at what she does but no bedside personality) however the experience with the practitioner is only the half of it. I have been a patient here for over five years and had very little issues until the end of 2018 to today. I was fortunate enough to catch my pregnancy induced hypertension myself and closely monitored it on my own from home but when I brought up concerns at the office it was downplayed and I was sent on my way. also don't expect to be informed about any copays prior to your appointments.. instead you'll get a surprise bill in the mail months later! It took me two months of multiple calls to the office to straighten out my $200 copay bills and was told it was my insurances fault and that they were doing me a favor by removing the charges. one routine appointment (that should have been 100% covered by insurance) I informed my doctor that I had stopped taking the birth control they prescribed because I wanted to get pregnant...a couple months later I got a bill for the entire cost of the routine appointment because they added a code to the visit that caused insurance not to cover it- a "fertility code". It was a frustrating experience to get resolved and again I was told that they were "doing me a favor" by removing the code and thus insurance covering the bill. consider yourself warned.. surprise copays and surprise bills because you thought you could confide in your MD during your visit will be headed your way! read more

I ended up hospitalized with complications towards the end of my pregnancy. During my stay at the hospital, I found most of the physicians with CWC to be excellent, particularly Dr. Wright and Dr. Johnson (I had the most contact with both of them). However, I had one extremely negative experience with Dr. Adler and I would not recommend her. She refused to answer questions and was insensitive and rude during a very stressful time in my care. It's unfortunate because the other doctors in the practice are quite good, but I would hate to have Dr. Adler be the one on call for labor or complications and may reconsider going to CWC for my next pregnancy. read more

Both of their locations have been great to me. I used to flip flop between Dr. Kennedy and Maria, but recently found out Dr. Kennedy is retiring, so I'm really glad I had been getting to know another doctor in the mean time. Even Maria's nurse, Jade, has been nothing but wonderful and attentive. Even though you don't always get on the phone immediately with someone, their leave a message and call back system is great. Since I'm busy with work, it's much easier to leave a quick message than be on hold for a long time. I have never had to wait more than an hour for the call back, and they always have a prepared answer and don't ask me again what I had been calling for. I had a really hard time finding a good GYN once I moved here a few years ago, and since I don't have insurance I was going to PP and Urgent care facilities (and the poor service and constantly incorrect diagnoses reflected their price). My mom looked up information, and insisted I go here... so I did.. and paid out of pocket. And I will pay extra out of pocket for as long as I don't have insurance to get this great service, knowledge, and kindness. read more

A girl gotta check herself before she wreck herself. No one likes going to the doctors, at least I don't. I honestly dread everything about it. I had to do a routine check-up and decided to try CWC out based on the previous reviews plus they're not far from where I live no more than 10 mins out. Located in Sentara Princess Anne for anyone wondering. Called them and they were able to put in me in the following day. I felt safe, non-judgement zone, I even saw some ladies with the families & kids. I felt comfortable being there in the waiting area and they even had updated magazines. My nurse practitioner, Maria was very knowledgable and informed me on the importance of checking for signs of breast cancer, STDs, going on birth control, all that fun stuff. Yikes, is this okay to say here on yelp? Anyway, this is for all you females out there: Get yourself professionally examined before it's too late! ASK ASK ASK QUESTIONS. read more

Dr. Ward was fantastic. Her staff, however, is not. I'd been trying to schedule a yearly appointment for MONTHS. Each time I attempted to make an appt, the staff advised that Dr. Ward's December calendar wasn't available/open and wouldn't be available until 10/1. They called me to schedule an appt 9/30, and Dr. Ward's December calendar was "already full". Naturally, I tried to make an appointment for January. The January schedule isn't available yet. I can't comprehend how a schedule is already full before a patient is able to make an appointment. Unfortunately, I am now forced to schedule an appointment with a different doctor out of a different practice. I sincerely hope that someone addresses the incompetency of the Staff from the VB location. Scheduling an appointment SHOULD NOT be this difficult. read more

I went to CWC for four years and would not recommend them to anyone. At least, I would not recommend Dr. Adler. The very first visit I told her I wanted birth control due to painful periods and she all but laughed in my face! She said "what is pain really? Who is to say yours is worse than anyone else's?". I should have switched doctors right then. Two years later her office gave me a false positive for an STD! (I know because I got it rechecked at PP) I told her she was wrong and my NOW HUSBAND (who was checked 3 times and negative) was not unfaithful and there was a mistake. Her nurse told me he was lying to me. I shouldn't have gone back, but the next year I complained of pain on my right side. Dr. Adler said it was probably a cyst and "if it doesn't go away come back!" She ignored me when I told her how much pain I was in and that I couldn't even eat! The next day I was in the ER having my appendix removed! They had no record of my visit even though it was the same hospital and I had to have ANOTHER pelvic exam. Good thing I listened to my body, not her, or I'd be dead. Not to mention you ALWAYS have to call for a refill and one time it took me 4 calls and screwing up my cycle by a week to get my prescription! So glad I now go to the tricare clinic and never have to step foot in CWC again! read more

I have been with complete women's care for about 2 years and I love Dr. Ward, she is the reason I stayed with them after having moved to Newport News, she has always been so nice, caring, compassionate, and thorough with me during my pregnancy with my 1st child. However, when I returned there last week for my annual well women's exam, I was upset with how I was treated and I feel more effort could have been made for me to make it a more workable situation. I drove from Newport news, after having had set up a sitter for my daughter, and taking the day off from work, well in advance, which is extremely difficult for me to do, considering I am also a Nurse practitioner. Unfortunately, with traffic and an unforeseen accident on the way, I arrived at 8:16am was my sign in on the sheet, 16 min. after my appt. start time of 8AM; however, I had tried to call the office to inform them and discus I was arriving late due to circumstances, even though I left well in advance, it took me almost 2 hours to get there, when usually it takes about 45 min. I was unable to connect with the front desk because they do not open their phone lines until 8:15am and there is not a selection to leave a VM for this type of situation. So, I chose to still try and come and hope that they would understand, I Have never been late before. when I arrived, the front desk person told me she would call to the back and to have a seat, when she called she was on the phone for a few seconds and I heard her say, "your 8AM is here" and that's it. She called me back to the front and told me that I needed to reschedule and the 1st availability for Ms. Crippen, NP or Dr. Ward was Oct. (this is end of June). I told the front desk lady my situation, I drove 2 hours and had to take off work and get a sitter, which is very difficult to do. All the said was, "I'm sorry, but she wants me to reschedule you". Since I am an NP, I know that typically for a well women's exam, most offices allot an hour time frame for this, so I was deeply frustrated that my 16 min. late, after all I had been through, and even trying to call to discuss, didn't matter, I was not able to be seen. I feel the front desk person could have explained this situation to the NP who was going to see me, and perhaps there could have been some understanding and compassion given for me. So, unfortunately, I will not be continuing my care with this center because I then had to get back in my car and drive back an hour for nothing and I don't know when I will be able to reserve another day off for this appt. read more

Years ago I had the WORST experience ever & swore I would never go back. I was completely ignored and had serious issues going on. I had to beg them to give me an ultrasound as they just kept telling me - "You just need to be on birth control" - NO Something more serious is going on & guess what? It was! Well I finally decided to give them another chance since I had friends & family that highly recommended them. Went and everything was fine with the NP - She was actually great.... Got a call about a week later stating all of my results were normal & I was good. Just received a call 2 MONTHS LATER!!!! that they actually never ran half my lab work and NOW I have to come back in if I want to get the work done. It took you TWO MONTHS to tell me my lab work was NEVER run?!??! Are you kidding me?!? What if I have had something wrong?? Now it has gone untreated for the last two months - Awesome! DO NOT GO HERE!!! You are just a number and they have too many people who are clearly NEVER communicating. read more

I believe this particular office moved to Princess Anne Road. The admins and doctor are very personable and they do make you feel welcome and comfortable while you are in the office. That is always a good thing when it come to women's care overall. Their follow up process and call back routines are terrible. Here is why I said this...I had a nurse called me back and she talked so fast that I had to listen to the message five times just to get the call back number. Occurrence #2, I have been waiting for more than 3 business days after I was informed someone will call to schedule an appointment for an upcoming procedure. Now, when it comes to my health, I wanted it done yesterday...It is the 4th business day and still waiting. Occurrence #3, I am proactive especially when it comes to my health, so instead of waiting around, I called the office and asked for a follow up...the first time I was on the phone, it got disconnected and instead of calling me back since she pulled my file up and had my number, I had to call back, go thru the recording and let the automated system inform me that "you are caller #4..." There is room for improvement here and I am hoping this review will help others out there be informed when choosing this office. It has the potential of being one of the best in town, but the operation routines are poor. read more
