Unethical business practice. Be sure to triple check your itemized bills…read more I saw Dr. Patel in June to get tested for my hives. A few days later she called me to discuss my results so we spoke for a few minutes and I asked some follow up questions. At the end of the call she asked "Is it okay if I treat this as a visit?" and not knowing exactly what that meant, I said it was fine, but thought it was odd that she would ask me such a question. I had a weird suspicion that it was billing related and took a screenshot of our call after. Sure enough, 2 months later, I get a bill from them for a whopping $200 for a "physician telephone patient service". The itemized bill clearly stated "11-20 minutes of medical discussion" I couldn't believe it. Thankfully I had the screenshot to prove to them that the call lasted exactly 7 minutes and they ended up waiving the bill, but I am deeply troubled by the fact that the doctor would lie about this in the first place. What is wrong with the medical system? I'll never be going back as I don't trust her.

When he finally arrived, he didn't perform the assessment he had mentioned and instead told us that our baby needed to have blood drawn. If that was the case, why wasn't I informed of this earlier? I had to drive two hours each way for this visit, and it felt unnecessary. To make matters worse, when we arrived at the clinic to have the blood drawn, the staff couldn't find our appointment. It turned out that the name on the appointment was spelled incorrectly. How many mistakes can one office make? This experience was extremely frustrating and inconvenient.

They brought me back and nearly administered a shot I was not even meant to HAVE. I had to ask what they were doing before she realized the near error. When I finally saw the doctor, I had to explain for the third time (not including the paperwork I filled out) what I was there to have done. He was extremely rude, then proceeded to allergy test me but gave zero guidance on what he was doing, what to expect, how I should be feeling or what would happen next. It took all of 5 mins for him to see me after waiting that long and the results were inconclusive, so he sent me to a lab for additional testing. Fine. Not his fault. What is his fault is billing almost $2000!!! I have amazing insurance and still had to pay $500 out of pocket. On top of all of this, he sent me to Quest Diagnostics for additional testing which he never said was special or would be too costly. He also gave me zero guidance on which lab to go to - literally told me to Google it and acted as if I should already know. So rude. The opposite of helpful. I had additional allergy tests which they billed at $2800!!! Total billing for "standard allergy testing" ended up being $5000 and costing me $850 out of pocket! The worst part? My tests all showed up inconclusive so I don't even know what I'm allergic to! Do yourself a favor, and don't ever waste your time or money w/ Dr. Nejat.

She refused to insert an ear tube, after many requests from me, and despite my history of needing them, and a few months later my eardrum spontaneously burst from congestion from a cold. When I discussed my frustration at not being heard by her, she was dismissive, defensive, and took no accountability. I finally had enough and left her practice. Since then, another ear doctor sent me for a cat scan which revealed a large growth in my ear canal (cholesteatoma) that had been eating away at my ear bones for 20 years. It required immediate surgery as it was 1/2 millimeter away from my brain. BEWARE of Dr. Keenan. I'm so grateful I found a new care team that saved my life. If I could give zero stars I would.

Since I suffer from Stage 3 CKD, I was very concerned with the removal of my kidney, which would've most likely meant dialysis for the rest of my days. Dr Mehrazin listened intensely to my concerns and promised he would do all that he could to save as much of my kidney as possible, to which he did. He treated me as is if I was a loved family member. In addition I would like to thank the following members of Mount Sinai, who were extremely professional and caring during my surgery recovery : RN Kofi Bohen RN Shanice Pottinger PCA Shauna Fowlers PCA Binto Drame PCA Yuleidy Arias PACU Nurse Aline Baptiste RN and the rest of the staff who I forgot to mention. If it's truly that bad, why did they go there in the first place? I visited the ER once, several years ago, out of necessity after accidentally cutting my hand at a nearby café. They cleaned and dressed the wound, gave me an injection (I assume to prevent infection), and I was on my way. The doctor merely took a look; a nurse handled the entire procedure--doing so neatly, efficiently, and most importantly, with a friendly attitude. The whole process, including registration, took just over an hour. My insurance covered all the costs; I didn't have to pay anything out of pocket.
