At times it looks like they need more staff to keep up the amount of clients they have, but they some how make it through. They all try to genuinely make you feel comfortable by asking about you, day to day activities and family, that's really sweet and kind of them to get to know you and not just your injury they are helping you overcome. The experienced staff take the time to properly train their newer staff on how to do exercises and the reasoning behind it. they also make sure there is empathy and kindness behind their guidance too. Also, big shout out to Valerie for being a wonderful receptionist. Keep up the great work all of you, but of course within your mental limits. ^_^ Dr. Ely Ann Gonzalez is amazing! She's quirky, fun, super knowledgeable, empathetic, and overall helpful. I wish more doctors existed like her in the medical field. She may look young but her brain is wise. Dr. Gonzalez wants the best for you and really takes concern of your well-being. She is a breath of fresh air. My experience here was beautifully warming. I'm a shy person that doesn't do well in loud, busy environments, but here I started to feel a homey and accepted. If I ever need to attend physical therapy again, I know where I will be headed. -C. I enjoy to this day my interactions with Brian and his staff for on going treatment. Weather it's Brian's sense of humor or his staffs genuine care, I always feel welcomed and cared for and not rushed at all. The time they take is amazing and attend to your needs and wants while in treatment. I highly recommend, hands down best treatment facility I have been to. Period. . Oh and I endorse this message. She was very patient, gentle, listened carefully, polite, understanding and had a great bedside manner. I felt like I wasn't just a number and never felt rushed. After the Q&A, we did some mobility assessments and went out to the floor where Dr. Garza showed some exercises to do daily. The following visit, I tried Dry-Needling which is similar to acupuncture but the needles are placed only momentarily in the trigger points vs. left on the skin for a few minutes. Sometimes it would sting in the initial prick but it was bearable and brief. I've had acupuncture before so I'm not averse to it. The dry needling is supposed to treat the pain and allow for a better range of motion. After the dry needling, I was out on the floor to do more brief exercises and stretches. The exercise area is pretty big and there are a few PTs and Medical Assistants there to help you. I really appreciated that Dr. Garza was the one assisting me on the floor vs. just the exam and out on the floor with just Med Techs/Assistants showing me exercises. The MAs were personable & friendly. They were the ones taking my blood pressure as soon as I was led to the floor after check-in. It's been a few days since the dry-needling and the pain has subsided so we'll see if I'll need a few more treatments in the coming weeks? Lively music is piped in and I noticed in my first visit, there was a lot of Spanish language pop music playing. Check-in clerks were friendly and in a good mood. Overall, it's a positive atmosphere. The place seems busy but efficient. There's plenty of parking in this small business park.

I absolutely loved my experience at the Physical Rehabilitation Institute, and that's saying a lot…read morebecause I think physical therapists are modern day torture agents. Dr. Molina has a bedside manner that should be taught in every medical school in the US. He assessed my knee injury without any medical records or films (thanks Army medicine) and told me, in detail and in a way I could understand it, what he believed the issue was. The next visit, I brought in the results of both my CT scans, X-rays, and MRI, and he was 100% correct with his diagnosis. Everything he said was wrong was proven on the studies. The office staff are personal, with just the right amount of conversation and instructions on what exercises I needed to do, what they were designed for, and how to do them properly at home without the equipment. My rating was increased by 1/2 star from 4 1/2 because the only "negative" and I use that word very loosely, was that they play Christian music and have Bibles out throughout the office. If you're not a religious person or a Christian, that may make you feel out of place or uncomfortable. I believe it's their prerogative to play whatever they feel in their private facility, but it did stand out to me as I considered how people of other faiths would feel. The care you receive at this facility outweighs that, but I'm also not an extremely devout religious person.

Dr. Bussey never even asked to see my running form! I would always have to wait at least 20 minutes minimum (up to 45 minutes once) to see him. He never made adjustments to my treatment plan and when I told him of new pain, he would dismiss it, blaming it on my lifestyle choices without asking about them (though I did the same lifestyle choices with no pain prior to the injury). Due to not working out my lower body, I actually got worse by the end of my time with him. He had an attitude that gave me the impression he was disinterested and burnt out and every time I would tell him about my new pains, he would dismiss them, so I never returned. DO NOT GO TO THIS PHYSICAL THERAPIST. I did like the front office girls and the techs - that is the only redemptive part of the experience. If you are looking for amazing Physical Therapists, GO TO PROMOTION!!! Promotion Physical Therapy has a Stone Oak location as well as many others throughout San Antonio. I went to them a few months after my time with Dr Bussey where I couldn't even tolerate sitting for more than 45 minutes (at its worse, I couldn't even last 10 minutes - like I said, I got WORSE under Dr. Bussey's care). It turns out I was a "complex case," but Dr. Oliva and Dr. Papke who were both assigned to my case took the time to sit, listen, constantly reassess, and explain what was going on. I have predominantly worked with Dr. Papke, and I am so grateful for how kind, validating, and competent he is. I no longer have daily pains & am slowly upping my running volume, which I have been trying to do since my injury in November!

It had been like this for 3 weeks & anti-inflammatory meds & icing weren't helping. I arrived 20 minutes early and had pre-filled my Patient Forms online earlier. The MA, Amanda called me in about 10 minutes before my appt, took a Q&A of my symptoms & told me I'd get an Xray first; The Xray tech escorted me to the back & took some Xrays & I went back to the exam room. Shortly thereafter, Dr. Alexandra Matthews came in & recognized me as I saw her in 2018 for knee pain & treatment. I told her my symptoms & she checked my elbow & confirmed that I had "Tennis Elbow." She suggested a Steroid injection to give relief within 24-48 hours. While she was injecting me she was telling me to think about my upcoming vacation & what I was looking forward to so I wouldn't focus on the stinging feeling. She had given me injections on my knee before so I had an idea. Dr. Matthews was pleasant & had a nice demeanor as in 2018 so I was pleased with that. She even commented on how detailed my answers were on the Patient Forms & she was so happy for that! She wanted me to get PT & a followup appt so next up was Dr. Brandon, the PT. Brandon came in to talk to me about my issue, showed me on a Human Body Muscular diagram what area is affected, why & how they'll approach therapy & modalities. I asked him a few questions & he was very thorough & easy to understand. Afterwards, I set up my appointments on 2 parts of the checkout counter. Transformative Recovery at Catalyst Physical Therapy - Highly Recommended!…read moreI had been unable to walk or bear weight on my right leg for two full years, with my muscles atrophied to the point where I relied on a walker for mobility. My first experience with another physical therapy group lasted 8.5 months, but their mundane exercises lacked focus on rehabilitating my hip, leaving me no closer to independence--I was still dependent on the walker. Switching to Catalyst Physical Therapy was a game-changer. In just 10 weeks, I've made incredible progress and am on the verge of ditching the walker in favor of a cane. This milestone feels monumental! I have nothing but praise for the therapists at Catalyst. Walking into the waiting room, you'll often hear unsolicited endorsements from other patients--about half the time, someone will chime in, declaring it the best physical therapy they've ever experienced, with results far superior to anywhere else. What sets Catalyst apart is Jorge Guerrero's leadership in selecting and overseeing a team of exceptional therapists who truly understand injuries, the human body, and the precise rehabilitation needed. Their treatments are targeted, goal-oriented, and designed to restore normal function by addressing the specific areas requiring attention. Based on my transformative journey, there's no other physical therapy practice I'd trust or recommend more highly. I give Catalyst Physical Therapy the highest possible rating--5 stars all the way! If you're seeking real results, this is the place to go.

Catalyst Physical Therapy, led by Jorge Guerrero, PT, is the BEST. After a few negative experiences…read morewith other PT clinics, I was resistant to seeking help. But I worked for a rehab therapy agency for 11 years and saw how much good comes when patients are treated by A+ therapists. In May 2021 I fell in the shower and tore my rotator cuff after already struggling with frozen shoulder; I needed pain relief and rehab STAT. I was evaluated and treated by Michael Landin, PT, and depended on him for pain relief for two years. After shoulder rehab ended, my whole body needed a lot of attention, but no matter what we tried I wasn't really improving. When Mike left in April of 2023, I transferred to Jorge, because I had watched him for two years and knew he was the best PT I had ever seen, and, well, only the best for this princess! TBH, I was so loyal to Mike that it took me some time to trust Jorge completely but letting him treat me was definitely the right decision. Jorge works hard to figure out my weird body, and I am extremely grateful for his sharp skills and superior knowledge. He has helped me make so much progress and I can finally feel and see the difference in my body. I now trust him implicitly and credit him with helping me more than any health care practitioner ever has. I seek to surround myself with people who inspire me and Jorge does so without fail WHILE helping me heal and figure out my body's quirks. I usually leave feeling like I learned something and can grow into a healthier version of me. Obviously, I am a believer and could proselytize all day, but the bottom line is you should consider this place if you need PT, you WILL NOT be sorry!
