Our first (and last) visit, every thing that could go wrong went wrong. This place throws out red flags all over the place. Corrupt, hateful, uncaring staff at every level of this sick excuse for a medical practice. Dr. Schneider should be ashamed - a disgrace to the field of medicine. During our 1.5 hour wait in the waiting room, the receptionist was extremely rude to us. But when the Amgen Pharmaceutical sales rep showed up later, they talked like old friends. For 10 minutes we had front row seats listening to the Amgen rep BRIBE the staff with new drug products. She brought Starbucks for all the staff that day, and scheduled to take the head nurse to breakfast the next morning. (Amgen rep pictured). When we were finally called back, the nurse stopped me at the door. "Patients only" My wife recently emerged from a coma after a bad car accident, and needs my assistance for all things medical. We've been to dozens of doctors recently, and this was the first time I was denied entry to go with my wife. We argued, but the nurse would not let me back. The nurse took my wife back in her wheelchair, and the door was locked in my face. Back with the nurse, my wife couldn't answer any questions about her health history. I knew everything, and was used to speaking for her. My wife BEGGED them to let me back, but they refused. My wife broke down in tears, and sobbing came back to the waiting room just minutes later. We never even saw the doctor. This practice isn't doing what's best for you - they're pushing as many hardcore drugs into you as possible because they get a setback, or other bribes, from Amgen and probably other pharmaceuticals. Update to prior review: Had enough They refused to give a ten day supply of my meds since i was leaving their clinic and was going to be out before my hip replacement on Feb 10. I only needed a few pills, I could not imagined this would be such a huge deal. I only needed them just so I wouldn't have to go through withdrawal right at my last week prior to surgery. They refused saying I had discharged myself from the clinic.So I went to my old same spine Dr who has done my esi's for several years and after the procedure. if he would give me the ten day supply. A nurse picked up the phone, called comprehensive pain on front of me and they told her I was still their patient and had not been discharged. Neededless to say I was livid about those bold faced lies, and because of those lies I wasn't able to get any meds at all. They have not taken or returned my calls or messages after they reported that they'd be willing to call in something which would at make the withdrawal more bearable...4 days now... Never got a script all again, couldn't get them on the phone and when I gonna did catch a human answer a phone, I inquired of why once again was my medicine being with witheld, her only excuse was that the nurse who was going prescribe found out her dea number had expired. This facility does fraudulent charges for drug test. My appointment was for a consultation with MRI result. 1st thing even before being a PA I was told to leave a urinalysis. I was never in any pain or asking for pain medication. Needless to say I was billed over $500 for two unnecessary drug screening test. This place of business does fraudulent charges for unnecessary testing. Billing is a joke. You are also treated like a herd of cattle here. Never do Business with them again. Beware!!! read more

I've been a patient of Megan Childers for a couple of years now. She has always been understanding of my condition (Complex Regional Pain Syndrome), which is very difficult to manage! She understands that I am competent enough to make educated decisions along WITH her about my care instead of being told what to do. When needed, she was able to bring in the main neurologist, Dr Schneider, to consult on my condition and make recommendations on medications, treatments and procedures. She is efficient in ordering medications and filling out paperwork when needed. The staff has been very friendly and helpful, and I love her nurse! read more

I was really hopeful when I first went to this office. My first appointment they made me take a urine test, I guess to prove I wasn't already taking pain meds. I had already been through it with a different doctor's office and was emotionally and physically exhausted. I explained to Megan that I had to take multiple days off work for back pain and that if I was going to have to continue to do that, I wouldn't be able to pay my bills. I asked her, "If I get to a point where I can't walk and need to be able to work, can I call this office and ask for you to call me in a prescription for something so that I can at least go to work?" She said she was comfortable with prescribing Tramadol in that situation. Well, a week or so later, that exact scenario happened, I called and she prescribed 500mg Tylenol. I can get that over the counter. In case you missed that, Megan lied straight to my face when she told me she would prescribe Tramadol. Their method of getting messages to your provider is deeply flawed. I would leave messages saying one thing and something completely different would be relayed to my NP. Dr. Schneider was certain that my pain was caused by my SI joint. We scheduled an SI joint injection. Before the injection I had a flare up that caused extreme pain down my right leg and went to the ER twice. I missed almost two weeks of work. During this flare up, I also started experiencing numbness in my right leg and foot (which I'm still experiencing 3 months later). We moved my SI injection up. It didn't help my back pain in any way. During my follow up, I was told that they thought it was a neurological issue and there was nothing more they could do for me. They tried one thing and gave up on me. I asked Megan during that follow up appointment, "what do I do if I'm in that kind of pain again?" And her response was "I don't know" I was floored. They referred me to a neurologist (apparently Dr. Schneider isn't a real neurologist? Or just not good enough to handle difficult neurological problems?) who said my pain was not caused by any neurological issue and to go back to this office for pain management. That won't be happening. I know they don't care if I never come back because they have plenty of patients to fill their schedule, but I would hope the humanity in them would make them think twice about the way they treat people who are in constant pain. read more

Disappointed does not come close. My wife has suffered with trigeminal for 2 years. We approached the clinic in hopes of pursuing botox injection as an attempt to manage pain. The nurse taking our initial call told us "Certainly...we can do that." She arrived at the office at her appointment and was informed that the doctor that could do it was leaving the practice and that they had no one else on staff that could offer the procedure. We received a "We can't help you" from a nurse, and then were charged a full fee for receiving no treatment and being told that they couldn't help us. Ridiculous. read more

This pain clinic lies. I have AS and MS. AS is very rare type of arthritis causes your spine and joints to fuse together. And I'm sure everybody knows what MS is multiple sclerosis that causes me to have issues with urinating and told the pain clinic that. I asked if I could just have a drug screen that they put in your mouth because they have done it before but they said no we need a urine sample and I couldn't go and then they told me that they close at four and I would not get my medicine until I give a urine sample. Well I left and I tried to make it back by four but got caught up in traffic and then I got a text from my pharmacy saying that my pain medicine was ready and I thought well they might I understood the issue with me urinating because of my MS and just gave me my pain meds but then a week later I got a discharge letter saying that I refused a drug screen. I do not know if anyone else has noticed but a vast majority of online reviews are based on Meghan. I wish I had the honor of meeting her. I had Jamie and I should have seen the red flags and ran. Every time I tried to speak, she cut me off. She literally had the audacity to say aloud, "I have already been in here too long." Seriously?! It was my first initial appointment. She said nothing was wrong, yet said she recommended an epidural on my herniated disc on L3/L4. Which is it - something is wrong or not? Someone else mentioned billing issues - oooh, double charging is not nice of a company to do. DO NOT LET THEM CHARGE YOU UPFRONT! Let them bill your insurance first. They will overcharge you. The only good part of their service was John Schneider giving the epidural which was outstanding and absolutely painless. FYI: I need surgery so yes, something is very wrong. read more

The NP suggest to have needles to be put in my neck and head and not comfortable with that. I was sent to a pain clinic and was dismissed and would not get treated. NP wanted me to see the doctor but due to work it is hard to see them. The NP was not friendly at all, the office manager was rude. The only friendly one was the person that checked me in. read more

I go to the office on Seven Springs Way in Brentwood. I cannot tell you how disappointed I am with my treatment here. I was referred by my PCP for medication management. 1. The front office staff treats me like I'm an inconvenience. I've seen them be kind and pleasant and engaged with other patients, but I've never gotten as much as a smile. I've told them several times that my last name is Mrs. Allison now, not Miss Carpenter and not only do they continue to call me Miss Carpenter, they don't even acknowledge me when I correct them. 2. They are IMPOSSIBLE to reach. I have, in the several months I have been going here, left over a half dozen messages. I have never reached anyone and never received a return call. I ran out of my medication at least once because my calls were not returned. 3. Never has my nurse practitioner, Kimberly Prichard, made any effort to discuss or understand my pain. She never asks any questions about it and she pretty much ignores me when I tell her my concerns. I use a tablet of some sort to sign in when I get there. It always asks about my pain and symptoms but there has NEVER ONCE been any follow up on it. Why do I fill it out then? 4. At my last appointment, I was taken off of Gabapentin and placed on Lyrica. When I told Nurse Prichard that I experience extreme withdrawals from gabapentin, she ignored me. She didn't tell me how to taper off of it before taking Lyrica. In fact, she didn't tell me at all to stop the gabapentin, I had to ask her. I had to press to get any suggestions about tapering and I didn't get any support or suggestions for managing the withdrawals. All she said was "I've never heard of anyone else having withdrawal symptoms." 5. Today, at my appointment, the doctor scolded me for going to the ER but she had no suggestions for what to do if my pain gets unbearable. I said to the nurse practitioner that I went to the ER because my pain was out of control. My meds weren't enough. I ended up getting referred by the ER to an occupational therapist. All she could say was "We need to adjust your meds then." But when I asked what I should do as I can't reach them, she didn't answer. She didn't care that I couldn't reach them. She blew my concerns off completely. She said she would double my Lyrica and then left them room. I didn't speak to her at all again during this appointment. I still don't know what to do if my pain becomes unbearable. At this point, I'm only continuing to go to this clinic because they take my insurance and I need my medication. They are doing nothing special for me. I could not be more disappointed with my treatment! read more

I was dismissed for going to the bone and joint about my back pain because they weren't doing anything but throwing pills at me. I wanted pain relief. I have never been treated this badly by a Drs office. Not by the Drs themselves, but by their staff. Especially the billing office for the office visits. I started seeing them after a car wreck. I did not realize that there where separate billing dept for the surgery center and the office visits. Surgery center has been nothing but nice. On the other hand, literally called twice a week for over a month before I actually reached someone. It has been an absolute nightmare. I now have my insurance company and the car wreck attorney involved. That's how bad it is. Dr Schneider and Dr Carrera are both very good although Dr S is not much of a people person. I went here in 2014. While this was a while ago, the experience has stuck with me as negative and completely unhelpful. I always sensed that the front desk staff was under the assumption that every person who walks through their doors are addicts. They also always seemed to be annoyed. And the scheduler appeared more enamored with her fish than aware of anyone in front of her. I was unhappy with providing my social security number. As someone who worked in medical records/ billing and who has specifically worked with insurance verification and medical records, the ONLY reason they need your social is in case they have problems confirming your insurance coverage. At the time I did not have insurance. She gave me a cliche run around that they needed it - they do not, but I was in too much pain and having never dealt with a pain clinic, I relented thinking they require it to document people aren't doctor shopping. Experience: Long and short of it, I went through three different diabetic nerve pain medications for sciatica which did absolutely nothing for me. I understand there is a window in which they have to "test" to see what is most effective, but I felt more like a guinea pig being run through the pill mill. In addition, as with all medications, once a patent has expired on a medication, all the pharmaceutical agency has to do is a mild adjustment to the formula and they can claim it is a new medication with a new name, thus acquiring another patent. I knew this at the time and I was really starting to question this office's protocol. I finally decided to have the spinal injection done. It was sickening to see the doctor perk up at my request. He barely listened during our initial meeting and seemed too busy to focus. I guess that is how it is here, turn and burn. All appointments after that were with a medical assistant or NP. The spinal injection was easily between $400 - $700. I cannot say it did anything for me at all. I spent eight months writhing on the floor in my living room and sleeping on the floor in a desperate attempt to muster some sort of sleep. I found that if I contorted my body in a sort of twist (that no normal pain-free person would ever do) I might find sleep. I also found propping my torso up helped a little. The doctor I dealt with has a background in neurology and apparently it is a trend that neurology students end up in pain clinics with no further applications of their education. I finally gave up. There was no point in taking ineffective medication that was not providing any type of relief. I was just taxing my body. Instead, I found that if I walked (sometimes at 3am), tightening my core and essentially lifting my core and standing as tall as I could (to ease the compression on my vertebrae) it would ease my pain. I would walk in rapid circles in my apartment and eventually moved outside (before anyone was awake - it was that bad). This is the type of pain that leaves you in tears, sobbing, wondering if you will ever be normal again. I started wondering if I would have to claim disability, etc. Luckily for me, I was a stay-at-home mom at the time. I don't think I could have been employed during this ordeal. Within about a month or two after I gave up on medications my pain began to ease. Perhaps my body developed scar tissue, etc. On a rare occasion I will feel the electricity shoot down my leg if I reach for something. I am afraid to aggravate it, even four years later. Just know, meds might not work, fight for what you need (especially if diabetic nerve medications do not work), and know there is a possibility it will go away on its own. Pain management Doctors and NP's should learn the effects of Zoloft and Benadryl on false positives of Benzodiazepines!!!! I have never had an issue! I am prescribed Valium to take when I have a vertigo attack. My last RX was 06/24/2019. I have almost all left. I was accused by Christina Burke for taking Temazepam because in fact it did show up in my urine test for three months! The same amount of time I was taking Benadryl and Zoloft. She swore by the test. I was frazzled! I told her that why in the world would I take something I already had similar to that medication!!! I kept insisting something is so wrong with this! She said the tests do not lie. I knew I never took Temazepam, ever!!! I went right to Walgreens because I was so upset because I knew something was seriously wrong! Be aware patients and especially doctors that zoloft and Benadryl are culprits for showing false positives in drug urine tests. I give this practice a zero regarding not being knowledgeable about these facts! read more

I have been a patient here over 3 years. The past several months have been a nightmare with MONICA SLATTERWHITE, FNP,BC treating me. I had an excellent NP who left the practice and was delegated to someone who was a family nurse practitioner, not someone familiar with chronic pain. My last straw was last month when she told me I MUST take my breakthrough pain medication every 8 hours and not as needed and if I didn't I would NEVER get pain medication from them again. I have never refused a drug test nor a pill count and my appointment yesterday was with Dr. JOHN SCHNEIDER and his assistant, JENNABETH FITCH, APRN, MSN. I expressed my concern about being bullied and threatened by someone with no chronic pain experience who had no empathy for me. Her take it like I tell you mentality left me feeling like a street addict. After a long discussion and reassurance that I would be seeing him the next appointment I felt somewhat better. I received an injection to my shoulder, which is providing relief. Then after talking at length to Jennabeth, I really felt like I was heard and my medical needs were being addressed. I would give this review a 5 but am unable to as long as Nurse SLATTERWHITE is with the practice. I feel very sorry for her other patients who have to be bullied and abused by her. This place is absolutely horrible. The heavy red head manager was so rude to the front desk girl and she is just the sweetest person there. Every time I go there is always someone new there at the desk and today I saw why. I am a patient of Jamie carden smith and she told me my pain was in my head she was also discussing how she told a patient she had herpes. Now I'm no scientist but this is not ok. Not to mention I've never met the dr in my 3 years of being a patient. When I complained about one nurse practitioner telling me she didn't have time to listen to me, I was sent to another nurse practitioner who told me that all of my symptoms were to be blamed on psychological issues. I have since sought a second opinion and she was grossly mistaken. This place is a money racket charging my insurance close to $700 for each visit. The lady who takes messages has recorded different wording, changing my intended message for Christina. The doctor who owns this chain of centers needs to allow calls to flow to the providers office location. Instead, the calls are handled by an overworked, under trained, individual IN A CENTRAL LOCATION THAT SERVICES ALL CLINICS UNDER THIS BRAND. I have called 7 times during business hours. Agree that the Dr.'s bedside manner was poor. Barely communicated his findings during the exam, and didn't seem to want to answer my questions. Now I go in monthly and see the nurse practitioner who does have a personality and will talk to me. There have been errors in the visit summaries that show me having told them I'm on a narcotic that I'm not on, never have been on, and didn't tell them I'm on. Got my lab results mixed up with someone else's. I'll give them a couple more tries. read more

I am a patient of Kelly Jackson in Murfreesboro. She is incredibly thorough going over diagnostic results, and has given me options that were never even previously discussed with me at the place I used to go. For the first time since I've had to seek care, I feel safe! That is very important when you are a mom. She's always friendly, and takes her time with her patients. The entire staff at the facility is kind, and always extremely helpful. The facilities are spotless and kept very neat! Dr. Schneider has done ESI injections on my neck, and changed the pain that used to keep me in bed half the day, so that I can be a functional adult. I highly recommend this clinic. They care about your well being, and they treat you with utmost respect. If you are searching for a new place, and you have previously had a nightmare experience, this is my recommendation. They are HORRIBLE, the first few times I went there it was ok. Then I got a bill for a drug test they sent off to Aegis for $526.00!!!! No drug test cost that much!!! This was my second drug test!! I kept having pain and they couldn't figure out why, so they sent me back to my surgeon and low and behold I had to have surgery again!! What made me call and go off on them was they called me the night before my procedure and told me I had a balance of $200 dollars (grant it they just got it from my insurance) and I had to have that before they would do the procedure and refill my meds, I told them I didn't have that kind of money but would they let me make payments on it? they said NO!! They are affiliated with a for profit. So the procedure wasn't done as per the surgeons request. I went and got a second opinion from a surgeon in Nashville, I was scheduled for surgery that next month my spine had collapsed again! If they say they care they don't. I've been out of work for some months now from having major surgery and they turned it over to collections because they wanted to work out a payment plan now, and they wouldn't work one out with me when I called. (GOODLUCK ON THAT) Whatever you do don't get caught up in this place and yes I was billed for somethings I didn't have done. The Office manager is an idiot and all she could do was sit there on the phone a try to talk over me and tell me NO WE CANT MAKE ARRANGEMENTS YOU HAVE TO PAY ALL OF IT UP FRONT OR YOU WONT BE SEEING A DR OR HAVING YOUR PROCEDURE DONE!!
