I'm here to acknowledge " Ms Hernandez " principal at george Washington elementary school! now carver is hardly ever included in any social media post but I have to tell you this principal deserves to be recognized ! she is active she is involved she is strong she loves and cares for the children she will raise money herself to make sure the kids have events and field trips going on ! she has been a teacher around different school in our district and now that she is at carver she is over doing herself ! You have counselors like Cynthia Washington embarrassing a bunch of students for not doing her job, right. She posted the wrong list and instead of fixing the mistake she embarrassed them in front of the whole school by not reassuring them of their honor roll and took to blame them after they received an invitation to the honor roll not just online. This is an average place to work. The teachers are always protesting against their salaries and health insurance which leads me to think that the salaries aren't so great. The test scores aren't too great either. However, a lot of people I know have graduated from Compton Unified Schools and are doing quite well. There is room for improvement as in all things. read more

This is absolutely one of the worst places to bring your kids. Most employees don't care about the students and the employees that do care gets jerked around and treated like trash by supervisory staff. They only allow employees to call into the school district for help 4 hours a day, now imagine how congested the telephone need is. If you go up to the district, they are always unavailable and when they are available you're greeted by a attitudy black or Spanish woman whom obviously never had a lesson in customer service. Supervisory staff likes to call uneducated shots but then places the responsibility on lower staff members to through the demand. There is always a policy changing but they conveniently forgot the advise staff. Avoid avoid avoid.... there is not uniformity within this district, just power holders then everyone else and your children's education is in their hands. read more

Avoid this district completely! Super unprofessional and full of RUDE employees in both this office and the one over on Caldwell. All the employees over on Caldwell have a nasty attitude. Ms.Moore the school principal for Emerson elementary disregarded my nephew with autism and kicked us out of the school orientation because he was crying. We explained to staff that he's autistic but no one cared and made us feel uncomfortable. We transferred him to a different school and the special ed office on Caldwell does not which way is up. Jane Kendrick an older black woman snatched a toy out of my nephews hands just because it was there in the office and he was playing with it. What kind of grown ass woman does that? The special Ed director Helen Rodriguez is even worse. I explained all my concerns to her and she said she would take care of it but then when we spoke over the phone to see what the resolution was she said she didn't have to talk to me about anything and that I need to ask for permission to speak with her. She kept talking over me and was just going back and forth with me on the phone. They kept trying to force and pressure us to take my nephew back to Emerson for the week because the shitty employees over at the special ed office didn't tell us that the bus that was scheduled to pick him up/drop him off to and from school was not set up until the 28th of this month. I told Helen Rodriguez many times and even spoke with Dr.Gideon at the HR office that we did not feel comfortable leaving him at that school hence why we transferred him! What parent in their right mind will drop off their child at a school they aren't even registered at?! They continuously made us feel like we were the problem. Dr.Gideon is also very rude kept cutting me off when I complained to him via phone call because of all these issues and he said he would call me back and it's been 2 weeks and nothing. Goes to show how much they care for your children. Who knows what goes on at school with your kids if the district employees can't even take you seriously. All they care about is the money they get from the government. They sit at desks all day long and don't do anything to help make Compton better as a community. Research the schools and staff before you leave your children in their care. Highly recommend another school district overall. Compton continues to be bad and unfortunately will stay that way. read more

What can I say? It's a dark office building. Everyone is consumed with work or have a need. Everyone is looking for a specific department. Everyone is there for a meeting of some sort. The parking lot is usually full and has many unnecessarily assigned spots. I come here only when absolutely necessary. read more

I was temporarly foster parent. I went here to enroll one of my foster kids and received nothing but rude service. I guess because I looked too young to be enrolling someone who didnt even looked as my child. So I walk in and signed us up at the front office and then as we walked in we went to the left side of the hallway. There is the office for independent study I believe is the Thurgood Marahall school office. The school is located in a whole different location and the office is located here at the district. Anyways I was gonna enroll my foster kid in the independent study program because I myself did high school at home with this school and had nothing but straight A's nd had a mini side job at the same time. So we decided. Anyways I walked in and there was this latina and she was the ONLY one there!!! There was an African American lady with her son too sitting down waiting to be called. Anyways I took all of my paper work and she snatched the papers out of my hands!!!!!!!!! yesss like Im latina too but this heffa was being extra rude like who do you think you are? I had a question and she didnt even let me speak. The next step was me seeing the principal.The latina with fake blonde hair told me to go into his office so I did and took all of our paperwork inside and we introduced ourselves and sat down . As I was about to soeak the principal says "Look I dont have anytime for this" she cant come here. WHAT! I was in disbelief!!!! I stood up and said "ok ok then were outs" I grabbed my papers angrily and left. As we was walking out the lady at the front office asked if we had accomplished what we came for? And since I was mad as fuck I said well see the bitch at the front office needs to get laid more often. And walked out of this horrible experience. Respect and humility does not cost two fucken pennies and I deserve respect just like they do but this day they really had something going on . Heres a message for both of you....
