Since mastering clean and accurate form is the foundation of swimming, she corrects even the slightest hand angles and head positions. Thanks to her detailed coaching, we are already seeing great results in such a short period of time. She is incredibly friendly, professional, and amazing at what she does. An extra bonus: my child told me that the instructors constantly exchange feedback and advice with each other. My child has recurring private 1:1 lessons for over 2 months now and has been thriving each week and during make-up sessions, too. Ashanti has been such a blessing in making each lesson so meaningful and very productive. At times when our instructor is unavailable, the company automatically informs me by email way in advance and finds someone to cover our schedule. However, on days when we can't make it to our recurring lessons due to unforeseen circumstances, the cancellation process and scheduling our make-up lessons with different instructors at their portal has been such a smooth process. Besides Ashanti, our main instructor, all the other lady instructors has been such a huge support in helping my child grow and making gradual progress in all of our scheduled swimming lessons. They all have been very mindful of my child's sensory issues from the get go, which I'm so grateful for, and my child always looks forward to go swimming with them. It has been such a joy to finally found a company who's a perfect fit for my child's swimming needs. I've searched for many years, but couldn't find one either because of the long waitlist or they're just not funded by the regional center (traditional funding). My son has special needs and absolutely loves being in the water, so we enrolled him in swim lessons here through the regional center. Unfortunately, our experience has been very disappointing. We're only five weeks into the program, and on two of those five weeks our assigned instructor either didn't show up or arrived late, forcing us to be rescheduled with another instructor. The most frustrating experience happened during our most recent lesson. We arrived on time for our 10:00 a.m. appointment, got my son ready, and waited. By 10:07 a.m., there was still no instructor, so we called the office. That's when we were told that his lesson had been changed at 9:54 a.m.--just six minutes before his scheduled start time, after we had already arrived and were waiting for his lesson to begin. Thankfully, they were able to find another instructor for him at 10:40 a.m., but my son still had to wait an additional 40 minutes. To make matters worse, when our original instructor arrived for her 10:40 lesson with another family, she walked right past us without offering any apology or even acknowledging us or my son. This wasn't the first time either. On previous occasions when she was late or absent, she also never apologized or acknowledged the inconvenience. I understand that scheduling issues and emergencies happen. What I don't understand is the complete lack of communication, accountability, and basic courtesy. Families invest their time, money, and trust in these lessons, especially when they're for children who rely on consistency and routine. A simple apology and better communication would have gone a long way. I hope management takes these concerns seriously so other families don't have the same experience we did. If other families are looking for lessons for their loved one, I would avoid this place. read more

My kids have gone here for years and the instructors are wonderful. However, having back-to-back lessons for my two kids canceled, rebooking, and having them canceled again the next morning was a total weekend disruption. Management thinks returning the credits I already paid for fixes the issue, but that's the bare minimum. It does zero to make up for wasting our time two days in a row. I have been sending both my boys age 4 and 7 to Waterworks for over a year now and i've seen significant improvement. Laike is so good with kids and it really shows. He's very technical which helps my 7yo grasp learning the butterfly. Ashanti is new to this location and we just had our first class with her for my 4yo and she really pushed him and gave him the opportunity to shine! I was so amazed that he was able to swim the whole length of the pool. She was very encouraging and gave him the space to really test his skills. I'm can't wait to see how much more improvement I will see over the months! I have gone back and forth about writing this review because these lessons took place several months ago, but I am still disappointed by the experience my son had. My son is a special-needs child who was enrolled in swim lessons because water safety is extremely important. While the instructors were kind and professional, the reality is that he only got into the water approximately 3 or 4 times throughout the entire session package. The response I received when I recently contacted the company was that the instructors "tried." That is not the issue. I have no doubt that they tried. The issue is that everyone involved knew my son was not getting into the water, yet session after session continued with no meaningful changes to the approach. Two male instructors were initially successful in getting him into the pool, but both left. After that, there was constant inconsistency with staffing, and every instructor change felt like starting over from the beginning. My son is very strong physically, and it became obvious that the existing approach was not working. Despite advertising experience working with special-needs children, no alternative plan, specialized support, or accommodations were ever suggested. What is most frustrating is that the sessions continued to be used while my son sat poolside unable to participate. Instead of recognizing that the approach was ineffective and recommending a different instructor, additional support, private lessons, or another solution, we were simply allowed to continue using sessions without progress. I recently contacted the company hoping they would acknowledge these concerns. Instead, I was told that no credit could be provided because the instructors attempted to get him in the water. Again, the problem was never a lack of effort. The problem was the lack of action when it became clear the effort was not producing results. Families of children with special needs should understand that while the instructors may be caring and patient, my experience was that there was little flexibility or problem-solving when the standard approach failed. After investing significant time and money, my son still has two sessions remaining and never became comfortable enough to consistently enter the water. Unfortunately, I left feeling that my concerns were dismissed and that my son's needs were not adequately supported. read more

My son recently attended his first swim class at this location with his friend. His friend was a bit more advanced, knowing how to swim underwater and hold his breath--skills my son hasn't learned yet. From what I observed, the teacher, Anissa, skipped over foundational techniques like learning to hold his breath or blow bubbles. The class moved quickly from floating to back kicks while holding the edge of the pool and underwater submersion, which my son was not prepared for. During this, he felt like he was drowning, even though he wasn't. Instead of validating his fear, the teacher repeatedly told him that this is normal and that he needs to learn to swim to survive. None of this encouraged him; it only increased his fear. After the submersion, he left the class screaming, trembling, and with intense fear. While the class started fine, this experience caused him to regress, and I am concerned about his well-being and safety around water. If there are two students in the same class, I feel the teacher should pace the lesson based on the student with the least experience. The class was too advanced for my son, and I know it could have gone much better had the foundational skills not been bypassed. read more

It's a hassle scheduling swim lessons because you can only schedule one week in advance. My grandson visits me from Texas every year and I want to schedule his lessons in advance so I know how to plan the rest of his vacation... I've had to call 3 times so far to schedule his lessons and I just called again to schedule his final 4 days and the s heals doesn't open up till tomorrow morning. It's just such a hassle to have to make so many calls when I'd like to get that part of his vacation on the books. weekday lessons don't start till 12:30 which is in the middle of the day so that makes other activities difficult to plan also I was able to schedule all lessons at 7:40 but that also makes for a long day for him. This is his second year of lessons and instructors are great which is why we are returning this year but I'll probably look elsewhere next year because if the difficulty in planning. read more

Omg... My son and I got stood up by them. I scheduled for a lesson in advance and tried to get there from Inglewood which usually takes me 30 minutes of drive in one way and that makes 1 hour drive in both way. We went there and waited and waited but the instructor didn't show up so I called the office number then they informed me that the instructor called in earlier to inform them he is unable to come in for work today. How irresponsible and nobody cared to let us know right away so that we won't waste our precious time. I don't think I can ever trust them risking my time to take any lessons scheduled at this establishment. read more

This is the first and only swim school that we've tried for our daughter. She started with Ms Stefani last August, and she is still our teacher. I didn't try other teachers, but why mess up a good thing. She's really great and so patient. It's a perfect balance of being firm and also making it fun. We started as complete beginners to swimming, and since then, my daughter is completely water safe and enjoys being in the pool without any fear. It's really amazing the progress she's made. She was actually water safe after about a month into lessons, but we've kept the lessons going because we want our daughter to be better at swimming over all for her own safety. The scheduling is easy, and make up lessons are also flexible. The best part is the online tool that gives you the ability to do any changes you need. The online chat lady is also very helpful. We looked into the immersion 2 week swim options, but decided that a weekly consistent schedule would be better. I'm sure any of the teachers are great. read more

My 6yo daughter was afraid of water and swimming before she took the swimming class here. After 14 20-minutes semi private classes, she was no longer afraid of water. In fact, she had fun playing at the water park this weekend for the first time. Last year she wanted to leave the water park after 30 minutes of play time because of her fear of water Gonna give huge thumbs up to teacher Lydia for talking calmly with her to earn her trust when she was afraid, for pushing my daughter to follow exactly what the teacher requested her to do despite of her unwillingness to try, and for making swimming fun. I am truly thankful for teacher Lydia to help my daughter learn about water safety and swimming skills. She's now at level 4. Looking forward to my daughter mastering swimming skills and enjoying jet time in the water. Tip: scheduling via online could be a bit confusing. Before, some instructor didn't show up and we had to go home without any explanations not only once, but many times. I think that instructor is no longer working here. The reason I put 4 Stars is that sometimes there are congestion inside swimming area, wish they had more space.
