I have been to many a pool in my time. I was swimming at 24 hour fitness. Started off in Torrance swimming at Victor Beane trading for Scuba diving. All the above the water was cool until your body gets used to it. 10 to 15 laps 25yards 2x's a week. 2025. I have discovered Pools of Hope. 2026. Nice staff, Nice vibe, WARM WATER love that the most. I swim at least once a week 10-15 laps 25yards per. At 68 I am hoping this helps live the life God has for me on this side of life read more

Rehabilitation pool for disable, injured individuals, and aging seniors for mobility help. Veteran military friendly. Great and friendly staff who are always helpful, encourage, and teach you how to strengthen muscles for better movement. Staff is open to listening and finding options to target and stretch weaken muscles that works well for you. There are two indoor pools that are heated. Members who visit are very nice and friendly. It's mainly for rehab exercise when I visit there. Not that much lane swimming. This location is an asset to the community. It also could use help with donations to improve the facility like better storage lockers and improving showers and restrooms. read more

My daughter Samaria really enjoyed the summer program offered by Pools of Hope and other gracious sponsors. She loved the fun games and events they had to encourage group play and team work. She even said it was way more fun than her YMCA camp and the staff was much nicer than at YMCA. That speaks volumes as YMCA is known to be based in Christian values which is extremely important to our family. Had my daughters birthday here a few months ago and it was a fantastic experience! From the moment we walked in and met with the receptionist to the final goodbyes of the staff at the end of the party; it was a hit!! We rented the location for 2 hours and had the whole place to ourselves! It is an indoor pool, but the windows and doors are all open to let the cross breeze in, we brought toys, food, games, music! All the necessities! The staff were so friendly and accommodating, it was really relaxing to be in such a nice environment! What a wonderful way to spend the afternoon with friends and family! We all had a great time and will return again next summer for her 11th birthday! read more

During Covid-19 I have suffered a bad back injury and what I need is a pool to do physical therapy in. With almost everything closed, this place is an absolute life saver. A great accessible place for warm water Aqua Therapy. Our group has rented it out twice so far, and we really enjoy it. It's expensive, $300 plus $100 deposit, for two hours in the pool, and 30 min before and after to get ready. The shower rooms are good and have good safety stuff on the floor. There are pic nic style tables next to the pool, but for our rentals, they bring out a table and chairs as well. Their $10 walk in rate is great as well. Great place to have a pool party! A few weeks ago I rented the swimming pool for my niece's birthday party. All the people who attended the birthday party commented on how great it was to be able to have a birthday party there. The temperature of the water was also great. It's warmer than the normal temperature of a pool, but not hot. It was fine for a summer day. The best thing was that many of my guest had infants, and they liked the fact that the pool was warm enough to get them in. We all enjoyed ourselves and the lifeguards did an exceptional job in keeping everyone safe. The staff is very pleasant and accommodating. I would definitely recommend this place for birthday parties, events, or even to take any of the classes they offer. Thank you for providing great service. read more

I was really impressed with this facility. It is super accessible for those with disabilities, which is super hard to find. They have both a ramp and stairs (with a sturdy railing) into the pool and they have a number of wheelchairs available that are obviously okay to roll straight into the pool. I'm definitely considering a membership, even though it's kind of pricey. I get that nonprofits have to make money somehow, though, and it's definitely worth it if you go regularly. They also allow you to come to the Tues/Thurs evening classes for a $10 drop in fee if you don't want to / can't afford the membership. The water aerobics class I took was kind of hard to follow because the instructor was not super loud and she was pretty distracted the whole time. She was nice, though, so I don't mean to be critical - I just want to share for others who are considering coming by. There are definitely better (louder, livelier) classes to be found in the Long Beach area, but if you have accessibility needs, this is the best option I've found. The coolest part (for me) was that even after the class ends at like 6:30pm, you can stay in the pool for another hour or so. There were about a dozen people and everyone was quiet and cool. There was a couple of kids, but they were well behaved and actually pretty cute. Next time I go I plan to being my own workout routine so I can do it after the class and really take advantage of the time in the pool. read more

Extremely nice staff. I gave my daughter a pool party and it was very wonderful. She recently got hit by a car so i loved the easy access into the pool a safe ramp, the director Ms Pat was there and made sure everything went well, lifeguards were very secure when it came to all the small children. I am a member for 10 years of Pools of Hope (now called; CAT&WC,inc). Mostly I used to love the place but lately I have been uncomfortable about going because the 9-10 a.m. Class for Disabled, Arthritis and the Elderly, is so darned LOUD. We cannot hear the instructions for our exercises or ourselves think! This is also a social class for us. This class is not Zumba so there is no reason for the BOOM,BOOM,BOOM that echo's throughout the whole facility!. We never had this Loud Music until about 9 months ago when a young gentleman Gus came on board to lead our exercises and when he left recently he taught the other youngster DaWan to play loud music. We ask him to turn it down and he will a smidgeon but then the next day it is back up again. I don't mind music but I am now looking for a different venue for my Disabled Son and I since no one seems to listen to our complaints except Rita the Lifeguard. No one has asked for music to be turned up, only Down in all the years I have been going. There are 5 people I know of who don't like this loud music but don't want to cause problems for the trainers. Others just Groan and Bear It. I have talked to many of them. The warm water therapy at Ca pools of hope has had the mos positive impact not only on our 12 yr old son but on our family as a whole. A little more than a year ago when we first began taking our Autistic (with moderate to severe behaviors) son to his sessions it seemed this would be one of the many therapies he would not withstand. Now a year later with the outstanding patients and professionalism of the CA pool of hope staff my son not only swims but is off of most of his medications. I am surviving Multiple Sclerosis, and although many people with MS are heat sensitive, as am I, the warm waters are doing wonders for me. I have just started to come here to help me with my CRPS. This is a great place for rehabilitation and exercise. The staff is very friendly. Bathrooms and changing rooms are clean too. They offer therapy and also have exercise classes. One large pool and a lap pool on the side. I looked around for a warm water pool and this was the only one of two that I found in the Southern California area. They have stairs, a ramp or a chair lift to help you in and out of the pool. There is always a life guard on duty. Great places for special needs children and adults. Only down fall they are closed on Mondays. And mostly morning to mid afternoon hours. Tuesday and Thursday they are open in the evening from 5:30pm til 7:30pm Parking is a real challenge especially on Wednesday no parking from 9am til noon (street sweeping). read more

This place is wonderful to get therapeutic swimming done. They have physical therapy there also. The polls are easily accessible for the disabled. They keep it in a nice warm temperature for arthritic individuals. You can swim all week long and they have water aerobics. The cost is $325 per year which seems staggering but it also includes some physical therapy sessions and evaluation. read more

I began to come here about a month and half ago. I have 2 disabled children with physical impairments. This pool has helped my kids move their legs little by little, and the staff is great with the kids! Bathroom for wheelchair access is clean( I haven't been to the other bathrooms) . read more

I first came to Pools of Hope in 2014 after TOS surgery. My doctor recommended I do warm water therapy going forward for pain management. I have checked other warm water pools. Pools of Hope has the warmest water, which is important for good therapy. It is well maintained, clean and the staff are always friendly and helpful. The water is shallow enough for certain exercises and deep enough for others. They even have an area to swim laps. They also have foam exercise equipment to use. If you are considering a pool for exercise you really should check this place out. read more

I want to start off by saying that the instructors at this establishment are absolutely amazing. Josh has been working with my son who is autistic for the last two years. My son was terrified of the water to the point where he would beg me not to bring him anymore. Josh has made my son's experience one that we will always appreciate and be thankful for. My son is now diving under water and gets upset when his lesson is over. Josh has been a positive role model for my son and has taught him the importance of safety in the water. Josh, we can't thank you enough. On the other hand, the ladies who handle the scheduling are extremely rude and incompetent! Xiara is the lead scheduling person and she constantly makes mistakes when scheduling lessons. She is rude and talks to you in a manner that makes you feel belittled and unimportant. I'm assuming that she forgets that I pay for the services my child receives from this establishment. Pat Dixon is the person who is in charge of this location and is also extremely rude and disrespectful. She makes promises that she never keeps and interrupts everytime I discuss scheduling issues I've had with her staff. These two ladies are the reason why I give this place one star. They're customer service is terrible! However, Josh and the rest of the instructors like Juan deserve recognition and praise because they not only teach these kids how to swim, but they also give them confidence in themselves. I've called 5 times to set up an apt for PT as prescribed by me Dr. No one ever returned a call. Finally got someone on the phone who took my information/insurance/Dr. etc and said they would call back. 3 weeks later, I'm back to leaving messages for someone to return my call, Have left numerous ones with Kelly, but she's always busy etc. Even left 2 with the head of this organization and no return call. Finally reached someone and they said they are waiting for a return call from my insurance company and gave me the number of who was handling it. Called twice there, no one returned first call and reached Jocelyn the second time who handles this. She said no one ever sent the paper work over so they had no idea of who to call, or why. Was referred back to Kelly Now reached Kelly again after 2 more tries and she said she sent it, but maybe the fax machine wasn't working that day.. . So back to square one. They might not need to do a fund raiser if they returned the calls of paying customers!! Will give another rating, if I ever get there. Unfortunately there are very few water therapy places in the Long Beach/Lakewood area or I wouldn't be wasting my time with them. read more
