Even at the urgent care I couldn't stop coughing. I asked for an antiobiotic and told I should only take Mucinex. My chest is clear is what I was told. Next day I go to office and can't stop coughing then start feeling worse than day before. Now I start coughing up yellow phlegm which everyone knows is a sign of bacterial infection!!! Then call back the Urgent care only to speak to the desk receptionist. I asked for them to send antiobiotic to my pharmacy explained I now I have yellow phlegm that I'm coughing up and not feeling well. I was told that the doctor said I should take the recommended medicine which was just mucinex. I called my doctor got antiobiotics right away. Now on second day and feel GrEaT!!! No thanks to jfk urgent care. Wasted a co-pay and time only to be told to get otc mucinex and being told second time same things Won't be going to this urgent care again. These places are a dime a dozen and will go elsewhere only if and when my doctor is out of town. Otherwise will always go to my primary care who actually CARES about his patient!!!!!!

Registration was quick and easy, the nurse was very efficient and friendly and the physician had amazing bedside manner and made my son who was already very nervous, completely relaxed. This was truly a last resort, and unfortunately, the visit did not meet even basic expectations. The wait time was excessive, especially for what should have been a straightforward visit. What made the experience even more frustrating was the customer service. When we walked in, the front desk staff did not acknowledge us or offer a simple greeting. Instead, they appeared to be engaged in personal conversations and laughing with one another while patients waited to be assisted. A small gesture like making eye contact or saying, "We'll be with you shortly," would have gone a long way. The overall atmosphere felt disorganized and unwelcoming. As a parent, when you are bringing your child in for medical care, you hope to feel that your time is valued and that the staff is focused on patient care. Unfortunately, that was not our experience. I understand that urgent care centers can become busy, and I try to be patient. However, professionalism, communication, and basic courtesy should remain a priority regardless of how busy the office is. Based on this visit, I cannot recommend this location, and I sincerely hope they improve both their customer service and the overall patient experience.

I've been receiving an email / mail last few weeks of a bill that I owe from my last four visits funny thing is they say they will bill you before you leave which I have been billed every time I visit. I go in and review my billing with them and find out they DOUBLE charged me and another visit was $200 and they said they have to resubmit it to my insurance company again???? So my question is they are not reviewing their billing with any insurance company I would rather charge you!!! Be careful when you receive a bill from these folks They will bill you and hope you just pay without verifying with your insurance!!! 4 visits in a month and a half and they tried to charge me four times my bill because they didn't clear it with my insurance company!!!

After speaking with someone in Family Care, I was advised to contact my insurance company to correct the billing error. I did so, and a representative from my insurance company spoke with Patty G. to try to resolve the issue. Unfortunately, he was met with resistance and felt disrespected by Patty G., who did not allow him to assist me further. He eventually advised me to speak with Patty G. directly. When I called, I also encountered immediate resistance. Patty G. was unhelpful and ultimately hung up on me. Frustrated, I went to the office in person to try to resolve the matter, but again was treated poorly. Debra came out with her arms crossed, appeared very defensive, and escorted me to the door while threatening to call the police--without giving me the opportunity to explain why I was there. I was humiliated by the treatment I received from both staff members. If I had been treated with respect and professionalism over the phone, I would not have felt the need to visit the office in person. I have been a patient with Family Care since Dr. John Chafos left Medemerge, but due to this experience, I will be seeking medical care elsewhere. I am deeply disappointed by how I was treated and feel that no patient should be made to feel this way.

An intense day for the staff, but both the receptionist and nurse were professional, friendly, and kind. Not rushed. When the busy doctor made it into our examination room, the sounds of a patient in distress outside the door caused him to leave immediately to her assistance. A hospital ambulance was needed. In the meantime, the doctor examined my husband and explained what could be going on...and how to treat it in detail. When the EMTs arrived, he went out to go over the other patient's details and arrange her care. He returned to us, picking up where he left off without hurrying. Explained possible alternative medical conditions that could cause my husband's problem and said -- if the Rx he sent in to our pharmacy did not help in a couple of days -- to come back. He'd be right there at work tomorrow (Sunday) and the next day (Labor Day).... saying in a heartfelt way that he loves what he does. A Clutch Player if ever there was one.
