Her soft, subtle touch resulted in the most amazing painless results. I've had injections for years and always bruise, bleed, experience a lot of pain and I significantly swell. Not this time! I went shopping immediately afterwards (looking for Sanna's shoes which I loved) since I felt great, wasn't in any pain, and didn't have any facial bruises (even after 80 units!). It was insane because it really didn't hurt. She was the most gentle doc I've ever been to. We discussed my goals for the injections and she really, genuinely listened to me. She asked me questions and gave me good advice. I inquired about getting undereye botox injections but she refused due to safety reasons. I was floored. Most docs give me what I want because they're money hungry. Not Avenel Primary Care and not Sanna Arshad! My appointment was quick but not at all rushed. She knew I was nervous (I hate needles) so she shut off the tv, played soothing, distracting music on youtube, talked about her family, she asked questions about mine, and we talked about traveling. Within a few minutes she was done and I was thrilled since there wasn't any pain, bleeding, or bruising. I asked about fillers but she recommended that I wait since I have an upcoming wedding to attend. She is the most honest, down to earth, caring, compassionate, fun spirited, knowledgeable, experienced doc I've ever met. She genuinely cares for her patients, takes the time to listen, provides sage guidance and advice, and isn't in the biz for the cash. There aren't usually a lot of patients in the lobby but the wait is always the same. The NP that I see is amazing, Marina. She takes her time, she listens, it's clear she's thinking thru the care she is providing. She has a very serious yet warm personality. She gets a 4 out of 5. As for the practice, they get a 3 and mostly because of her and because they usually will squeeze you in if you're sick and need a rush appointment. If they can better schedule peile they'd get a 4. I don't think I give anyone a 5 because this is subject to change based on so many factors. Bring a book, expect to wait.

I hear "busy" or "emergency", and rarely a "sorry about the wait' but longer than usual waits seem to be the norm, today was just intolerable, being put in an exam room for an hour waiting for the doctor, after an overlong waiting room wait, and then more waiting in between. This issue needs to be addressed and corrected, but it's doubtful it ever will be, at this point.

In fact I never meet with any physical therapist of any kind. It consisted of rotating between 4 exercise machines while a cardiac nurse sat at a desk monitoring everyone's O2 and heart rate. There was no stretching, no strength, no breathing exercises, no guidance at all. Education was a joke. Pulmonary Rehab is too important, don't waste your time here.

So, like I said before, I came in for a job to get a physical, skin test, and drug test and the service was stellar. Every nurse was SO sweet and helpful, especially considering I didn't know what to do. Both the doctor and the nurse explained each test they ran and went through all the procedures thoroughly for me. I felt like I was being taken care of rather than pushed through like most clinics I've been to. Also, the office is very clean but a little old. It's not state of the art or anything. It's located at the JFK Hospital but it's tucked away into the woods in the back. It's in Parking lot G, but there is no sign for G. Instead, follow H (leads you into "Family Practice"), which will take you to Occupational Health Services. I had to drive 30 minutes to this place so I'm glad it was worthwhile.

I then returned a week later and even thought I told him I was still in pain, he sent me back to work and told me that the pain was all in my head. The day I went back to work I couldn't take the pain and my company sent me back to them. There the same doctor told me that i was fine and it was all in my head and that he did not want to do an MRI because if he found something they would have to treat it.(hmm) I then went to my primary doctor who sent me for an MRI and it showed that I had a partial thickness rotator cuff tear and an impigment on my shoulder. Went back to the doctor and he told me that it is normal to have rotator cuff tears as we age (I am 27). I then asked to speak to the chief who then sent me to an Orthopedic. I've been coming to Occupational Health every month for one year for this injury and every time i come it takes 3 to 4 hours of my day.
