Very disappointed in the care I got from their doctor/physician. I came in for a work related injury. The nurses and front desk were fine and the wait time wasn't bad for a Wednesday afternoon. However, when the doctor came in he barely examined me and then after my x-ray decided that my injury was "non industrial" so they refused to treat me. I get that I didn't get the original injury at work but working made it worse and I can't work with the injury at all. I asked the dr what I should do and he told me to talk to my primary and go back to work. I then asked what I should do for treatment until then and of course he just said Tylenol. I left in tears and after talking to my employer and another Concentra they agreed that what happened was unusual and not okay. I feel so disrespected and dehumanized. Unfortunately I needed to update my review. After working with them for about 6 months, they could not help me at all. They diagnosed me with "knee pain," which isn't an actual diagnosis. I had to be referred to another orthopedic, who is actually knowledgeable and helpful. I was told that they are known to help you just enough and long enough to say they did something, but not actually do something, and then refer you out. And that's exactly what happened to me. Between the lack of knowledge, help, and wait time to be seen, I would not recommend anyone to use their services. After my vitals were checked the Dr popped in exam room & bluntly told me I needed to go ER. Without seeming to care whether or not if I could drive & didn't ask if I had or needed a ride. We were staying at The Welks resort, about 15 mins away from this place. We are not locals, we live about 2.5 hours away. Our youngest had a fever and a body ache. Went there thinking it was going to be a long wait and expecting the worst. We were surprised, it was fast and the doctor and nurses were very friendly. We got very lucky finding it. They did COVID, cold, and strep throat test. He was negative for all. They gave him some antibiotics and fever reducer and we were on our way. I went to this location on Saturday, its by far one of the most efficient center I have gone too. The front desk staff Bianca was very attentive and have expedited my check in process . Elizabeth was very efficient and have look through all of my requirements and even did a respiratory fit test which service that they don't offer on the weekends. Nothing but good things to say. I started coming here due to a work injury and saw Dr. DeGuzman. He and Elizabeth took the time to listen to my concerns and symptoms and put together a consistent plan of action. It's convenient that the physical therapy is also in the same building. I've been here in the past with no issue. I came in today with a head injury and have been treated terribly by Serena the red haired tyrant in the front office. This person is a toxic representation of what should happen when you enter a care facility. Someone should really reconsider her position as she is extremely rude and condescending. One example of this when asked on pamphlet which pharmacy I would like to use, I put CVS on twin oaks in San Marcos. Her response was if I don't put the physical address she will just put on my notes that I refused medication with a smirk on her face. Mind you I'm there for a head injury and haven't been seen yet. My giant company I work for told me to leave and go somewhere else. I can only imagine how Serena treats elderly folks or anyone else in need of proper care. She should not be in a position to abuse patients like she abused me. Another example. My company didn't give me a reference number or anything to take with me to concentra. Serena was very vague and unhelpful. She wrote on a sticky note a number for my HR manager to call. My HR manager called me back and said the recording was not clear and she wasn't sure how to proceed. Again Serena was very pushy and rude yet still couldn't help me resolve the issue. When I got to the Escondido location. I was able to give them my HR managers number. They called my manager and we're able to resolve issue with no problem. If I could give this place a minus zero I would. When I arrived, I was told the doctor was at lunch and would be back in 30 minutes. After one hour and 45 minutes, I asked the receptionist what was going on. She again told me the doctor was at lunch. I explained that she has already told me this and I had waited as long as I had. Then I asked why other people were taken in before me and she explained that they take workers comp patients first. I asked if I came back in the morning when they opened if I would be seen right away again I was told workers comp patients were seen first. So thanks but no thanks, I ended up with COVID and if I had been seen, maybe I would have been given the correct medicine and not gotten as sick as I became. I had to get a physical & TB test done over here for employment a year ago and it went well! The wait was longer than I was expecting, but the process was smooth. I should note that there was paperwork that needed to be filled out (patient information), so the long wait wasn't uneventful. The medical assistant and NP also let me know I'd have time to fill out the papers while in the examination room if I needed time. Quality of service was great. The staff in the front desk, physical therapy room, plus the MA and NP mentioned above were friendly, thorough with everything that needed to be done, knowledgeable, informative, and helpful. Although I was in there for almost 2 hours, I highly suggest getting a physical here if you need it for a job.
