I have been to this Concentra a few times for pre-employment check ups and testing. The front desk staff are friendly and professional, and I can come as a walk in, or make an appointment. There is a TV playing in the waiting room to give you something to watch/listen to, but there are no captions. It is always on the hgtv, home buying channel, haha...I like that channel.

Courtesy snacks inside exam room..such a mindful way to ensure wait times are manageable!

We aren't familiar with the area, and my daughter was hysterical and clearly in pain. We walked into the lobby around 6:00 p.m. and stood there for quite a while because the front desk was completely unattended. Eventually, a staff member walked out, seemingly unable to read the room. She stared at us with a glazed-over expression and an odd smile. She asked what was wrong, and I explained that my daughter had injured her hand and needed an X-ray. She responded, verbatim: "He's busy right now but will be out soon." Who is "he"? A doctor? A provider? We had no idea. She then disappeared into the back without having us check in, collect our information, or fill out any paperwork, leaving us standing alone in the empty lobby. After waiting even longer, I called the front desk from my phone, hoping it would prompt someone to come out. The phone rang twice with no answer. I called again, and the same employee answered with, "Hi, how may I help you?" I said, "I'm standing in the lobby. Is anyone going to help us?" There wasn't a single other patient in the waiting room. She finally came back out and asked what insurance we had--which they accepted--but continued moving at an incredibly slow pace. At that point, I asked, "Can you tell me where there's a real urgent care?" We left and went to Scripps instead, where my daughter received prompt, professional care. This was one of the most bizarre and frustrating healthcare experiences I've ever had. If your child has an urgent injury, I would not recommend coming here. Definitely a scam!

I called Medhero and they got me in same day was only there about an hour got the steroid needle in my foot in and out. Everyone was so nice and professional and super user friendly. They keep it simple. Thank you MedHero and the doctor who actually was a former Navy Flight Surgeon he was so easy to talk to and minimized the pain of that big needle going into my foot. I will be back in the future. Thank you Steve Carlile

I recently called regarding a $210 bill for a visit in December 2025 because they were claiming our insurance did not cover the visit. After spending approximately 20 minutes explaining the situation, it became clear that they had the wrong insurance information. The representative I spoke with did not seem to understand the issue and said she would call me back after looking into it. I never received a call back. Later that same day, my daughter became ill and needed to be seen. When she arrived, she was told they would not treat her until the outstanding $210 balance was paid. Despite the fact that the billing issue appeared to be the result of their incorrect insurance information, I paid the $210 so my daughter could receive the care she needed. Having to pay a bill that we were actively trying to resolve, particularly when the underlying issue was incorrect information on their end, was extremely frustrating. After three visits with the same insurance-information issue and this experience with billing and customer service, we will not be using this urgent care again.

All the staff are very kind and friendly and all supported me and congratulated me on my newborn…read moreeverytime they walked in, except for the social worker. She came into my postpartum room extremely rude and hostile, didn't even smile, didn't even congratulate me. She was very condescending and seemed to want to make me feel intimidated based on her job title, once I even found out what her job title was after our altercation... She demanded to me rudely to turn my TV off because I kept asking her to repeat herself, even after my infant was crying over her and I couldn't hear her, I wasn't even aware she was the social worker because she did not state that, she must have used another term but I was unaware she was the social worker when she introduced herself and her job title to me, not once did she say "social worker". After she left I asked the nurse when the social worker would arrive and they told me that she was the social worker. Her name was Ganell? Or Janelle? I felt like she made decisions based off her own personal dissatisfaction and judgment toward me, and was extremely unprofessional and power driven, keeping me at the hospital and preventing me from being discharged as some form of personal punishment for not taking her attitude very well. I even overheard that based on her judgement; that I might have to stay until Monday, and the stress has been killing me, for reasons she kept me, she didn't even inquire about, or even ask me to explain anything regarding her own concerns. I came in Wednesday at 6cm dilated in active labor around 3am and have another child waiting for me at home. I've been here basically 3 days and counting and I feel like I am in a postpartum prison. I don't understand why they cannot continue investigating my case at home and let me go home. Even a lot of other staff members and nurses are confused that I am having to stay so long and were surprised that I was no longer able to discharge based off Miss Janell's orders and "discomfort" of me.

He ran tests and took x-rays…read more An unexpected admission to Palomar Hospital was required, due to multiple serious conditions unrelated to the broken ankle bone. The 'admission' was to the ER department's hallway for 2 days. All due to lack of available beds and supposedly, understaffing. There were many, many sick people in the halls. Many were elderly. They partitioned-off areas lining the halls with 'admitted' patients just waiting for a bed. There is no doubt the hospital has state of the art architecture, it's a newer hospital, and it's all shiny and attractive. But not all shiny things glow. We were finally given a private room in the hospital's 'Crisis Stabilization Unit', located on Floor 9 West. * NURSES: About 65% of the RNs we were working with at this hospital are not shiny, happy people. That high percentage is so disappointing and concerning. RNs require having a kind but strong, caring personality and attitude. Each RN on a typical shift has only 4 patients. The patient's care suffers and it shows by the RN's lack of interest. They're simply there to collect a paycheck and to socialize amongst their peers. Likely, they are unserious about their jobs. Don't even get me started on the Prima Donna's, both female and male! * DOCTORS: There is little communication between doctors and staff. During a 2-1/2 week hospital stay, our family member was assigned to 3 (too many) different 'house' doctors. When each successive doctor doesn't pass along crucial information to the next doctor, healing for the patient goes wayward. It's a messy system that barely works. These are serious issues. And that's what's currently happening at Palomar Hospital. Because of those two issues, I would recommend any other hospital if you believe you will need to be admitted.

He worked in the morning and left Burrego in the afternoon. I had been in the hospital ICU for brain bleeding, and my neurosurgeon told me to see my primary doctor as soon as possible. After calling Centro Médico Escondido many, many times and not being able to make an emergency appointment, they sent me an appointment via text message without even checking if I could make it that day. Desperate to get my referrals set up, I made it to the appointment. Sadly, Dr. Hernandez left the clinic without canceling my appointment. He works in the morning and leaves in the afternoon. If it was an emergency, the front desk should have called me to reschedule. I have been waiting for a whole month for an emergency appointment. When I called over the phone, I said I would take any doctor available as soon as possible. I am so disappointed with this center. The front desk staff are rude and act like nothing happened. I will definitely change my Burrego.
