I live in Florida they shipped from Canada, so I got nose bleed the service was so fast! parts as described in mint condition..Impressed to say the least. I will use them again . I was disappointed with the service I received from Concept-1 last month. I had to tow my Westfalia to them because of transmission problems. The assessment I got the next day was that the transmission had to be rebuilt or replaced. They didn't say directly but skirted around the fact that they didn't want to do the job and they didn't have any referrals of someone who would do the job. They essentially said that I should pull my vehicle from their shop, have it towed back to my house and start looking for a new mechanic. I found one who came to my house, took one quick look and said "There's no transmission fluid in here!" We went and got some tranny fluid, put it in, and the vehicle was operational again. It still needed work on the transmission but at least the most basic and fundamental step was taken to address the problem - put fluid in. I don't know why Concept-1 would not have done that nor how they could have made a proper assessment of the transmission problem without fluid in it! I won't be trusting them with my vehicle again. read more

Went there about 10 days ago intending to order a new interior for my bug along with a few other parts. I told the girl at the counter when they sold me my bumper bolt kit last year they shorted me on 5 nuts. Her answer was that because I had bought it last year they couldn't do anything about it. I couldn't believe what I was hearing. I left and went to Bolt Supply and go the missing nuts for $ 1.00 I will order my new interior and any other parts out of Vancouver or on the internet. WARNING,, THINK TWICE BEFORE HAVING ANY MECHANICAL WORK DONE AT CONCEPT 1! Had my 1960 Convertible Karmann Ghia in to Concept 1 in Sept. 2017 for front end work. Specifically I was having handling issues and noted I wanted the "positive camber corrected" I was assured their shop could correct my problems. $1700.00 later I had new tires, new steering box, steering arm and an alignment. The car still wandered all over. I was leaving the country the following day and the car had to be put in storage and remained there for 2.5 years (documented) I pulled the car out this summer and drove it a few hours to refresh my memory then looked under the front end and found that cotter keys and locking tabs on my steering wheel bolts and tie rod ends were not put back! The main nuts on the steering column shaft were loose. 6 CRITICAL nuts related to the steering were left without any locking safety. I took photos, sent them in to Concept 1 and received a phone call from Ken King apologizing for a former incompetent mechanic.., Ken did sate, no excuses but they let him go and would not recommend him. He asked me to bring the Ghia in and they would fix it right this time even if they had to replace the steering box at their cost. I then communicated with Peter Dixon via email and outlined some of the specifics from my 2017 work order such as the focus of positive camber and that it stated it was corrected in 2017, I talked to him by phone and pointed out that the car still had the same abnormal positive camber, he assured me that Concept 1 could deal with all the Ghia's issues. I brought the car in, Concept 1 I presume worked on the car, no invoice or work order was provided when I picked it up. I had spoken to Ken King when the car was worked on the second time and I could pick it up. I was in B.C. and he said no problem they could store it, I noted it was not a water proof top, water came in the window seals, he assured me that if it was going to rain they would put it under cover. When I picked it up it had standing water behind both rear seats, (photographed this and sent it in to Ken King) . I had talked briefly with Peter Dixon when I picked up the Ghia this summer 2020 and asked him if the Camber could be corrected, he said NO, it could not. I noted the camber was exactly as it was in 2017 and asked Ken King for a shop credit or refund. Ken replied almost a month later saying it was not fair to ask for warranty work 3 years later, not even VW gave that. I politely replied and said I was not and would never ask for warranty work or refund 3 years later, I was asking for a refund or credit for work that was not done, and camber that was not corrected and couldn't be corrected. If Concept 1 knew older VW's better or had just done a google search, they would have found this information as fast as I did and not spent what they claimed was $600.00 of their time on Camber. My Ghia is still not safe to drive on the highway, OK at slow speeds around town. Ken King never got back to me by phone or email. I would sadly never recommend anyone with an older air cooled VW to have mechanical work of any kind done at this shop. Previously I had paid $700.00 for dual carb balancing , this included new jets I did not know I needed. The car ran worse and smelled so strong of unburned fuel I could hardly sit at a stop light with the top down or windows open, I brought it back and was told "dual carbs are very tricky" and that they had done their best, they looked again and managed to get it so it would idle. I took my Golf here last August to get the timing belt and front brakes changed, and was quite stunned to receive the car back later that day, at the time they told me it would be ready! It was a bit expensive, but worth the lack of the headache the dealer normally gave me. Now that my Golf is sold, my experience with Concept 1 was a one-and-done deal, but if you drive a VW, definitely consider getting it serviced here. read more

I've used Concept1 since 2007 when they first tuned my GTi. It was the first time I had tuned any vehicle and needless to say I was a bit nervous. Concept1 was very knowledgable and made me feel comfortable about getting the most out of my vehicle. I have never had a problem getting in for last minute appointments and they always deliver my car on time. Fast forward 5 years and I now have a Concept1 tuned Golf R. They took a great car and made it an amazing car! I have always had fantastic service from this shop. Highly experienced people who stand behind their products. Definitely recommended if you want trustworthy people to advise you on how to make your car better. read more

Not sure these guys really know what they are doing, I have had good work here in the past but lately I have encountered too many mistakes and sloppy workmanship dealing with them, from forgetting to take off the shipping protective plastic from my exhaust after install, not aligning the steering wheel after front end work to straight up selling the wrong parts and then arguing that they are right until proven otherwise. 2 stars might be generous, but they do have a big inventory of parts that may otherwise take time to order from elsewhere read more

However, they have done good work on my passat, except properly securing all plastic bolts on the engine cover. I RECOMMEND MID-TOWN SERVICE by Chinook. I trust the owner. sold me a carb and intake to go with a single set up didn't run right took it back put the other new one on run better and still farted and poped . put the dual's back on runs greathave a .009 dis..told them it is a 1641 it needs more fuel than a stock carb that is set up in califonia it is to lean so it backfires with there new carb on it they seam to think it is a timing problem why does it run with my duals on it if it is a timming problem .when i brought this to them was told to bring the car in?why would i bring it to them when i know the problem?its to lean.for that do it yourself guys bushmasters knew this over the phone?not satisfied. now have this carb and intake as a paper weight?260 dollor paper weight? read more
