This group is awful. Inefficient , w some very unpleasant staff (some were fine). Their AI scheduled my appt and I planned for it only to be called a few days later to be told AI was not supposed to schedule for a new patient. Then, when I finally got through the initial appointment ( not at all pleasant) ) I scheduled another cleaning six months out. I got a call a few days before the long- ago scheduled second appointment to inform me that though the group takes my dental insurance I would have to pay out of pocket up front amd be reimbursed when they got paid by my insurance. **Total incompetence, wasted time, and zero respect for patients** This dental office is an absolute trainwreck. I had deep cleaning done here two weeks ago, and today I drove out specifically for my follow-up appointments--only to find out **neither the hygienist nor the doctor was even available**. They couldn't be bothered to check their own schedule before letting me show up. Instead, they casually told me to reschedule **another two weeks out** and booked it right there. I leave, already frustrated, and not even 10 minutes later they call me back saying, "Oops, we messed up again--actually you need to come **twice** now: once for the hygienist and once for the doctor." Are you kidding me? No apology, no offer to fix it, just more incompetence piled on top of incompetence. This is the second time they've pulled this kind of stunt with scheduling. First they make you wait weeks, then they waste your entire trip, then they jerk you around with last-second changes after you've already left. I've lost hours of my day, gas money, and any shred of patience dealing with this disorganized circus. Zero accountability, terrible communication, and staff who clearly don't care if patients show up or not. If you're looking for a dental practice that treats you like an afterthought, congratulations--you found it. Everyone else: RUN. I honestly have no idea how this place received 4.9-star reviews on Google. I read all the honest reviews on Yelp and regretted that I didn't read them earlier.... I've had two horrible experiences with them over the past two years. Two years ago, when I first visited for a deep cleaning, the hygienist was extremely frustrated with my small mouth. She couldn't get an X-ray done because I couldn't open wide enough. She kept pushing and pushing until I vomited. I've never had anything like that happen before, so I had to call a stop to it. A year later, I returned, and they offered me antibiotic injections in the gums as part of my deep cleaning. I asked multiple times if this would be covered by my insurance. They assured me that they called the insurance company and confirmed it was covered. However, they had me pay $150 upfront and promised that would be enough because they already contacted my insurance. I never received any estimate from my insurance company and went ahead with the injection. Two months ago, my insurance denied the claim, saying these injections are only approved for chemo patients. To make matters worse, I received a bill from Concord Woods Dental asking me to pay an additional $378 on top of the $150 I already paid. Have you ever heard of a deep cleaning procedure costing over $500 after insurance? I called them again, this time they asked me to provide my health insurance information thinking that my health insurance might cover. I confirmed with them that this would not go to a debt collector. They assured me it wouldn't. But yesterday, when I checked my mailbox, you know what I received ?! I received two letters from a debt collector demanding payment for the $378! Today their manager gave me a call and to my greatest surprise he was not sorry about any part of this at all. His attitude was: hey you just gotta pay this lady. Oh wow, this is amazing. Concord Wood Dental. I was a patient of Dr. Broverman's my whole life. Slowly, as he retired, he stopped showing up to examine my teeth after cleanings. Each time a new doctor who I didn't know would come in. I never knew who I would see and they knew nothing about me or my history. At one point, a dentist stated that since I had insurance, I should consider coming in for a "consult." Consult for what? She pushed it and the scheduled me fo come in for this. I later canceled that appointment. I realized that since I had insurance, they knew they could make money off me. At the next cleaning, they came in and a new dentist pushed to replace an old filing (my only cavity ever) that had no problems and did not need replacement. Stupidly, I agreed to the procedure having it explained to me as quick and easy. I came back for this supposed quick and easy procedure and, after it was done, I was told that they had opened up my filling and could not finish it. They then told me that I now needed a root canal! Of course they pushed me to their person to have that done and lots of money later, I am still trying to fix this. I have had ONE cavity in my 50 years. I sought a second opinion and they reviewed my records and looked at my tooth before the root canal. They felt that this was a totally unnecessary move! But because the dentist had exposed my tooth, I had to have the root canal now. I went elsewhere for the root canal and I like my new dentist who doesn't push unnecessary treatments. My family had been happy long time patients with Dr. Broverman, but I'll say that I'm pleased with the facility upgrades and I've been very happy with Dr. Slater's care. BE VERY CAREFUL OF REFERRALS AND INSURANCE. One family member had wisdom teeth removed and Concord Woods referred them a surgeon who was out of our insurance network. This cost us an additional $1,700 (we paid $1,700 out of pocket when an in-network surgeon would have cost us $300, we later learned). You can say we should have know better (and now we do, but then again who understands insurance these days), but Concord Woods knows what our insurance is and should at least have advised us on the issue so that we could have made an informed decision. Instead, they steered us to the high cost provider. I guess it's all just a business these days. read more

Irresponsible overuse of x-rays. Is $ more important to you than your patients' health? If not, why aren't you following American Dental Association guidelines regarding dental x-rays? Annual dental x-rays were linked to brain tumors back in 2012. Why are annual x-rays still standard in your office? You told me that the amount of radiation from a dental x-ray was equivalent to "a day at the beach." As far as I know, a day at the beach does not make you 40 to 90% more likely to develop a meningioma. X-rays may be necessary sometimes, but pressing every patient to have an annual x-ray as "standard" is not in line with the ADA. More importantly, it means you may be exposing many people to unnecessary radiation and risking their health. Oh my God ! What can I say. Dr. Govostes and his dental assistant Lauren are a Dream Team. This past Labor Day I cracked my front tooth on a chicken bone. I was resigning myself to the traditional 6-9 month ordeal of an implant. i had heard of 1 day implants but my dentist was against it. When I spoke to Dr. Govostes I was convinced he could help me and I was right. Together with Lauren , like great dancing partners, they not only worked seamlessly together to install the implant but Dr. Govostes was able to use the veneer of my tooth and bond it to the composite material around the abutment and my wife couldn't tell the difference. Simply Amazing !!! If you know anyone that needs an implant have them seek out Dr. John Govostes !! P.S. The doctor in the photo Dr. G tells me I need a service so I agree.He spent a good 30 to 45 minutes maneuvering my mouth and my gums and his fingers in my mouth with numerous shots of numbing and after 45 minutes he tells me he can't do it and I owe him $650. Sore disappointed and crying he left me in the room and an assistant came in and said they needed the room so I stood in the hallway. When I asked if I still had to pay at the front desk she went to the back and asked him and he said yes but if I proceed to have a different procedure he would deduct the money. That was the last time I went there and now I found a fair,honest and competent dentist. read more

I had Dr. Kovach put in 2 fillings; before switching dentists, I chanced upon an overwhelmingly negative review (I won't name the reviewer, but I'm sure you can figure out which). Despite that rav[ing] review, I liked Dr, K--and just had the most fun I've had at the dentist in a while :) From a joke about getting "comfortably numb", we put on Comfortably Numb Radio (HT Pandora:), and that ended up being an excellent, funny soundtrack to accompany the procedure. read more

I have had excellent care at Concord Woods Dental Group. The hygienist, Kelly, always does a wonderful job and entertains me with her stories. Dr. Shutts took care of cavities this week and proved to be gentle and great at making sure the procedures were pain-free. read more

Concords Woods has been so accommodating. I have a mouth full of cavities and have actually needed a couple root canals within the year. They have been extremely understanding about what is realistically affordable to have done at the time as dental work does add up. Ive had great experiences with all the doctors but see Dr. Brady the most for fillings and she has been wonderful. I recommend them to anyone looking for a dentist in the area! read more

I'm very sad to be writing this review because I absolutely loved this dental practice when it was owned by Dr. Broverman--I was a patient for 20 years. Unfortunately it has transformed into a completely unprofessional dental practice which you should avoid at all costs. Note, none of this review applies to Dr. Slater who is an exceptional dentist and cares very much for her patients. The other Dentists, however leave much to be desired. 1.) Dr. Karimipour referred me to a practice in Waltham to perform a root canal. This practice cancelled my appointments multiple times eventhough I was in a tremendous amount of pain. Out of desperation I had the procedure done in NH where I now live and it was fantastic. 2.) My temporary crown broke off during a business trip and I was assured, after calling Concord Woods, I could wait the 2 weeks for my follow-up appointment. Then, the day of this appointment they call me to cancel because Dr. Karimipour has hurt his back. They left me with no other option to come back and have this done--I was to wait another month 3.) I decided to cease all ties with this dental practice and transfer to Generations Dental in Concord NH. Upon examination, they informed me that Dr. Karimipour did not properly prep my tooth prior to the root canal and there is still decay present. 4.) Concord Woods Dental refused to release my medical records to Generations Dental and accused the receptionist of forging my signature on the document. This entire experience has been horrendous and this practice should be avoided at all costs. It makes me very sad to say this because the loyal clientele, and exceptional practice that Dr. Broverman had have disappeared. read more

I recently had 2 veneers done at Concord Woods Dental. No complaints about the work itself, that was fine. BUT BEWARE of their "Insurance Estimates." They told me Delta Dental would cover over $900 of the cost - Delta Dental actually covered NONE of it. When I called Delta Dental they said - "we have never covered veneers, ever - and the dentist office would know that ." When I asked Concord Woods Dental why they would tell me that Delta Dental would pay over $900 when they don't ever cover veneers - they gave me a lame answer "it was just an estimate." An estimate based on what? So please take a lesson from my bad experience- call your insurance company before you have any work done there. read more

I had a similar experience to Jenny F. I was a patient of Dr. Broverman for many years and was happy with his work. When he retired I was referred to a new member of the practice (I believe Dr. Kovach). The first time I saw her I hadn't been to the dentist in over a year so we agreed she should do a thorough assessment of my dental health. Her final recommendation was for numerous fillings, multiple crowns, and a bite guard - a multi-phase treatment plan with a final cost of close to $11,000, $10,000 of which would have been out of pocket. I took my X-rays and other records to the family dentist my kids see who said I didn't need a thing done. Now 2 years later I've had nothing but regular 6 month cleanings and haven't had a single issue with my teeth. read more

Initially I was thrilled to get a quick appointment to take care of a broken crown. The practice was quite responsive. The crown though took many weeks to prepare as this practice does not use modern technology. While the dentist was quite pleasant the practice approach to scheduling, releasing information and billing was both clumsy and harsh. I was suprised to schedule an appointment for a dental problem and have the practice adminstrator enter the treatment room and demand that I complete my crown installation immediately. it was a bit shocking to have an administrator intrude into a discussion of care. I was told that this practice has a policy of doing this. Even so, the administrator was so unpleasnant in her approach that she certainly did not serve the practice very well. I have been a patient of Dr. Broverman for 32 years and have recommended him to many others over the years. He was a wonderful dentist and had excellent staff. However, I do now feel that the office has lost a lot of the small, family, welcoming feel it once had. I miss the personal reminder call I used to get from the previous front desk person. I was referred to Concord Woods by a few family members who are patients of Dr. Slater. They absolutely rave about her and couldn't have had nicer things to say. With that said I went to Concord Woods for a cleaning and X-rays and saw the new younger female dentist, Dr. Kovak. This was the ABSOLUTE. WORST. EXPERIENCE. of my life. Being very anxious about the dentist as it is, after my wonderful cleaning with Shirley (she was great), I saw Dr. Kovak and she TRAUMATIZED ME. Telling me I have 9 cavities and need a crown and even prepared a treatment plan of 4 phases..4 PHASES with a grand total of almost $5,000 out of my own pocket. I was in tears and having a near panic attack, clearly visibly shaken; in the chair all the while she is continuously showing me up close images of my teeth (I was clearly uncomfortable and squirming in her chair and she kept going without relent) NOW, I went to my other dentist, the man whom I've seen since childhood for a second opinion. He and 3 other hygenists checked the exact X-rays from Concord Woods and checked my teeth individually and found NOT ONE CAVITY and NO NEED for a crown. The exact words out of his mouth were "THIS IS CRIMINAL". I am disgusted with this particular Dentist and though I can't say enough about the kind words about Dr. Slater and her team; DO NOT go see this new dentist Kovak, she is WILDLY AGGRESSIVE both with her attitude and treatment plan and clearly wants your $$$$ to pay for all of the fancy technology they use in their office.
