"Types of Accreditation…read more Schools can receive accreditation from either national or regional accreditors. Nationally accredited schools are mostly for-profit. For example, they could offer vocational or technical programs. Most regionally accredited schools are non-profit, with academics as the primary focus. If you decide to attend a nationally accredited school, remember this: In some cases, regionally accredited schools will not accept transfer credits from a nationally accredited school. This is because of academic standards and differing courses of study." "If you want to attend a professional or specialized college, choosing an accredited program is very important for licensing purposes. Attending an unaccredited college could prevent you from taking the necessary steps for professional US licensure. In some fields, you need a license before you can legally practice your profession in the US. Choosing an accredited school can be crucial! Almost every profession has a group that is a recognized accreditor for professional or specialized schools." UniversityLanguage.com Be careful what program you choose. Investigate first & work with the recruiter. You have your part too! Credits for courses which are purely technical in nature may or may not transfer to a university. Educational institutions are either regionally or nationally accredited. Accreditation is a voluntary process that ensures a college, university, or degree program meets a universal standard for quality. This gives an institution and its graduates credibility with other institutions and employers. After I graduated, a year of searching for employment, I am now working as a Texas Medicaid Reimbursement Associate with my current Certified Electronic Health Records CEHRS certification and physicians billing and coding education from Asher College. I currently go here. I really don't know where to start. Just don't go here, I wouldn't recommend…read morethis school to anyone. This school sucks, the students don't want to be there, the staff don't want to be there. I wouldn't even be going there anymore if the VA wasn't paying for it and I don't want to have to pay them back. It sucks! Go up there during class time and ask a student, any of them will tell you the same thing I'm writing.

2 1/2 stars. I graduated from Remington in 2010 with a certificate in Billing and Coding. The…read moreteachers were fantastic and most of my classmates were great. That's about where it ends though? You don't have any set program. When you get in you learn whatever they're teaching that month. Which means the person who joined one month after you is going to learn something you never did the month after you graduate. I know it's a 9 month program and they need to rush information into you, but I feel there should be something set so you learn the main things you need to know for the field! Like during my last month we actually learned about coding and some computer stuff..! The people who left before then or started after probably never had an 'hands on training' before graduating. To add to the other review, the main guy running the place at the time only seemed to care about cramming anyone he could into the school and not really giving two shakes on what happened to them or if they were really meant for the program. I know schools needs to meet a minimum, but I could only see dollar signs in his eyes and nothing more. Also, kind of adding onto my first paragraph, with so many students graduating EVERY MONTH, that means there's at least 10-30 people every month entering the job field at entry level. That's a lot of competition and unless you know someone or get damn lucky you're going to be hard press finding anything that isn't minimum hours. Also, don't trust them when it comes to 'helping' you look for jobs. They send you Craigslist, Monster, etc links that you're already looking at! And randomly throw in a few links that have nothing to do with your field.. or the medical field for that matter. I think in the almost year they were sending me emails only 1-2 emails contained any job offers from direct companies that were asking for graduates from the school and ones similar. (So you have an actual shot!) Pretty much, this school is good if you want to learn a new skill (well, get a basic idea for one with how the program is set up), but don't put all your hope into getting a better life. Like with most colleges, you'll be hard pressed. I just think with this one you'll be even more so since so many graduate each month and not just once a year. Things might have changed since I graduated, but from what I've heard it hasn't. Just be careful and have a back-up plan. (I got lucky and a friend put in a good word at her job for me. I'm not doing exactly what the program 'taught' me, but it's close enough to get something in the field later on. I hope anyone entering the program has the same luck.)
