At the time when we were touring different preschools, we had a few good options in the Lincoln Park/North Center area. However, when we walked into Prairieland, there was something about it that immediately made us feel that it was the right place for our daughter. The staff maintains a culture that really does feel like a little community-focused family. They teach the kids to work through their problems (Montessori style) while also teaching them to be respectful both by their words and their actions. Our daughter loved going to the wide array of summer field trips that included the Chicago History Museum, Shedd Aquarium, Field Museum, and more. It kind of felt like a summer camp more-so than the school year. We really do feel our daughter developed into a better version of herself by being enrolled at Prairieland and the school has set her up for success as she starts elementary school.

Both of my girls started their pre-K experience here (Lincoln location) and loved every second of it (across 4 years). A true neighborhood pre-school gem!!!

From day one, CLP Logan Square has felt like a second home. The care, consistency, and community have made parenting in the city so much easier. The staff is incredible. Every teacher and team member has shown our kids so much love, patience, and support. It gave us real peace of mind to know our children were not only safe but also thriving. They made friends, learned through play and structured activities, and participated in engaging specials like Spanish, music, and yoga. We also loved the occasional field trips that brought learning to life. The value is outstanding. Tuition is reasonable and includes meals, snacks, diapers, and formula. When we were expecting our first and touring multiple centers, this all-inclusive model made CLP the clear choice. It removed so much of the daily logistics and let us focus on just being parents. The extras really added up too. The Parent's Night Out program gave us time to recharge, and we appreciated being able to hire CLP staff for babysitting. It was comforting to have a network of familiar faces who knew our kids well and cared for them deeply. After a full decade with CLP, we are so grateful. This community has played a meaningful role in our family's story, and we can't recommend it highly enough.

This is our second child, and our older son had gone to two different daycares, so we knew exactly what we were looking for when we toured Newport. My daughter is learning all sorts of things, but more importantly to us, she's making friends, learning how to resolve conflict, learning to take turns and share, and we're confident she'll be set up for success in kindergarten. She looks forward to school each day. When she was younger, she went through some health issues that required some extra steps in caring for her. Newport was absolutely lovely during this difficult time. The teachers, staff, and in particular John the owner worked with us so that she could still attend school. We've become part of the community, doing play dates with her school friends outside of school, meeting other parents and families. Her teachers know her, and we can always talk to them about challenging "growing up" things like potty training and nap transitions, and I feel like we tackle them together. There may be wait lists...but honestly that's the situation with daycares in the city. It's definitely worth adding Newport to the list of daycares to tour and consider!

Once we started at Kids' Work, we realized what we'd been missing. The staff is incredible. Every person we've met has been friendly, enthusiastic, and genuinely seems happy to be there. You can tell management supports their team because the teachers never seem stressed or burned out. It's comforting to know that positive energy trickles down to the kids too. Our son is always so excited to see his teachers and classmates. Every one of his teachers has been warm and knowledgeable--the kind of people who truly love working with children. Leidy, Dina, and Desire were wonderful in the infant room, and he absolutely adores his current toddler teachers, Sydney, Monica, and Ana. He talks about them constantly. We get consistent, clear communication from his teachers about everything that happens in the classroom. They sincerely celebrate milestones with us, and whenever we face challenges, they are quick to ask questions, troubleshoot, and share tips as appropriate. The curriculum is excellent. Music and Spanish teachers come into the classroom weekly, and every day is full of creative projects and plenty of outside time. The facilities are always clean, organized, and filled with high-quality toys. The admin team has also been incredibly helpful whenever we've had questions or concerns. For example, when we were worried about our son's transition to the toddler room, Lindsey took time to reassure us and share resources to make sure he was ready. Their advice was spot on--he thrived in the new environment immediately. Last but absolutely not least, the level of organization at Kids' Work is impressive. Everything from sick policies to daily classroom schedules is well thought out, clearly communicated, and consistent. Nothing slips through the cracks with this team--and everyone is safer, healthier, and more sane because of it. We feel lucky to have found this place. It's not the cheapest option, but if you're looking for a daycare that genuinely goes the extra mile, this is the one.

The environment is clean and welcoming (cleaner than any other daycare we visited), every teacher and administrator knows our son's name (impressive!), we get frequent updates on the daily activities, and most important of all, our son loves it there! The bonds he created with his infant room teachers are so heartwarming to watch. The teachers go above and beyond every day to make the parents' lives easier, and those little things matter, a lot. Our only regret is not finding Discover the World Daycare sooner. We found them back in February and quickly got on the waitlist for a September start, but luckily was able to begin in early August. Our 7 month baby had a big transition being with other people and children for the first time. So napping and taking the bottle was a challenge albeit extremely stressful especially for new parents. Petra and Maria patiently worked with us for weeks (yes, weeks...) as we tried various scenarios with bottles and sippy cups. Thankfully one day, baby drank milk and I can't tell you how thrilled we all were! At the same time, our baby just started eating solids and having alittle water. So Petra worked with us carefully to ensure whatever baby ate there was first introduced by us at home. She even asked multiple times a month to get an updated solid list to have on file. It was such a relief the daycare supplied food, snacks and water, since it was already hard enough getting baby (and parents) ready each morning! This brings up the really good communication at Discover the World Daycare through the whole process. Baby had a dedicated notebook logging every diaper change, meal and nap, which was so helpful going through all of our baby's daily activities. Any important information due to keeping children safe during COVID, etc. came through emails and messages or even calls. There were WhatsApp messages, along with pictures and videos. This by far, seeing pictures, was the best part of our day while baby was away from us! And then, usually we chatted either with Petra or Maria for a synopsis of baby's day: her mood, accomplishments, naps, etc. That said, our baby had a wonderful time going to Discover the World Daycare! We definitely noticed her development accelerated: crawling, listening intently to other babies, starting to communicate herself, dancing and practicing to pick up herself to stand! It was amazing to witness. We are convinced this daycare was a big part in making all this happen all within a couple months! I would recommend Discover the World Daycare to everyone I know. The care and communication is tailored to each child and family. (Actually, every parent we met had great things to say about the daycare!) Scheduled play time, reading, outdoor play and meals are all carefully planned ahead, which really accelerated learning and allowing more time to focus on babies. Petra and Maria care for each child like their own. And we were able to trust our baby was in good hands each and every day!

It was hard to say goodbye to this lovely daycare. Petra and her assistants are so attentive and always keeping the kids entertained. I loved receiving videos of their adorable music class. Our son made good friends with children of mixed ages (including the babies!) and we believe this will help him transition into his new role of big brother. In his time spent in Petra's care our son developed a love for reading books and his language blossomed. Also to note, the home is very clean and staff is quick to contact you if your child becomes ill. We were on several daycare waitlists in our neighborhood (Roscoe) but I'm so happy we stumbled upon this in-home option. Best thing that could've happened! Thank you DTW.
