It's pretty much a hands on learning space where children get to explore the extents of their creativity! Walking in you feel like you've stumbled into your crazy inventor uncle's basement: filled to the brim with contraptions the students and staff have built, the tools for building, and all the junk you'd need to build more contraptions. They have classes for every kind of interest, from building functioning robots to learning how to fix a bike, to making costumes, to cooking. They take things that children only dream of (like building a giant maze out of 30+ cardboard refrigerator boxes) and turn them into realities. They have such a variety of classes that you just have to check out the schedule to figure out the specifics. If I had to summarize it in one sentence it would be: This is a place that focuses on the joys of creating through building, experimenting, and learning how to take ideas out of your brain, put them on paper, and then make them physical objects. For the grown-ups they also offer some classes on making things, through the affiliated Studio Bricolage (linked on their website). We were told to check this place out by many members of the design/tinker community here and after seeing it for myself this afternoon I'm really happy to know a place like this exists.

The Friday night event was FREE and had a Q&A panel at the end. Learned so much about the writing process and how to move through writers block. I'm not a writer but still felt welcomed and enjoyed myself. The event was about 90mins. Afterward we had dinner at Grumpy's- very close by such that we walked there (one block). I needed parking for more than 2hrs and found a nearby lot by Dunn Bros for $4 all night. We will definitely return for the next event!

When I arrived for a class that was not in the class room that was published in their brochure (listed on internet that day as a class being taught that night), the information desk was covered by a high school look alike who appeared 35 minutes after the class was to begin back to his post with beverage and food in hand. No need to have actual staff to assist ...he could not find any information and didn't seem to have any more competence than those answering the phones. Others in the building that work there gave free dumb looks with questions about how to receive assistance. This is a wonderful place to find a job with no accountability or expectations but a pathetic place to attempt taking a class listed in the brochure. Classes can be registered online...perhaps this was originally to be the SELF-SERVICE car wash that became community education. As this isn't run by sentient beings it doesn't really work ( I think I found the supply house for ZOMBIES).

I highly recommend you go somewhere else for your education for IT, electrician, construction etc. because this school and the people (not teachers) people they have working there are irresponsible, disorganized, disrespectful and lack professionalism. so please don't waste your time here.

AID is pretty crappy for how much they're raising tuition. some terrible professors who only care about pay and not their students, and overall would not recommend coming here. oh and if you try transferring? $600 per SEMESTER to transfer your credit to somewhere else. dont even get me started on the sexual harassment stuff that's going on. Title XI is a joke here because the person who's harassing people is still allowed to come here even with evidence against him. go the to U.
