At first- indispensable, charming and very reasonable prices, great quality in his work. He needed a reference for Angie's List at the time. However I used him for a couple of years for chimney work and handyman services. All was well. Then he was no longer dependable. I sent him a text and he was to stop by before 10 or after 1. of course, he stopped by during that time and left his business card. He purposely came by when he knew I would be gone. Then, I had a few odds and ends to be done plus power washing and he quoted me $300 for everything to be done in 2 Visits. He came and power washed the house and deck, stuck a bill in my screen for $300, so I put a check in the screen for him. He took the check and I thought would let me know when he was done to schedule fixing of the grout/caulking among other things. Nope, he got into his truck to leave .I realized then the receipt was for power washing only, and there must be a mistake. I went out and said "you quoted me $300 for all of the small things and you only did the power washing"! He said "no, it's $300 for today! Previously he only charged me $150 for this. He was very angry, called me an ignorant c***, stupid b****. I lost it and said some things I shouldn't have . I never did anything about it for fear of retaliation and damage to my house. I believe he simply didn't "feel like" doing the rest of the work, but he wanted the money. I was so upset/angry, no one ever treated me that way before, I was really shook up. We exchanged some nasty emails but then i decided I'd rather not get him angry. I then started reading reviews and found that he went by Mr. Chimney, Shepherd and Sons and Randy Shepherd But always kept the same phone number. He would give people quotes, do part of the work and leave with the money. After ripping off a few people and not showing up to others, he would lay low for awhile, then start up again. This was a few years ago and now I'm safely in another state.
