Good chocolate but very expensive. I would compare to other high end choclate places in the area.

Delicious chocolates! They literally melt in your mouth. My favorites were the champagne truffle balls and the chocolate covered caramel balls. The owner said she is a 5th generation chocolatier, they know what they're doing! read more

Customer service WAS better at this shop! There was a beautiful and kind lady working here in a bright red suit! She made sure we knew we were welcome and properly introduced to her products. I *think* what I ended up purchasing is a type of marzipan.. there were flavors like raspberry, strawberry and lemon.. oh my gosh the lemon really got me but yes I bought all the kinds. I didn't find the cashier especially polite or helpful, in fact I felt like an idiot asking if there was a minimum charge amount for credit cards (which there isn't here, but a lot of places in Austria do have a minimum so I always ask first !) She knew what she was doing with the chocolates though, and was fast and efficient. As stores tend to be in Austria. If you love Mozartkugel, this is the place!

They also serve coffee drinks and have a good amount of seating if you are dining in. I loved this place so much that I visited it twice in one day for breakfast and an evening dessert. Their hazelnut pastry is something I still crave and think about. And make sure to try their sacher torte if you love chocolate cakes. It is clear why this business has stood the test of time. We walked…read morepast Habakuk and caught a glimpse of the Strudel in the window, and all thoughts of bacon and eggs were out the window! We walked in and were very warmly greeted, and sat right across from the glass cases that showcased their wares. Given two menus in German, we figured it out pretty quick. They had a NY breakfast and one below that outlined eggs, ham, cheese and bread, bingo, two orders of those please and water. Our utensils and napkins were brought on a white plate along with salt and pepper, as well as a silver plate holding our waters, which was a great touch. The interior is very classy, old school elegance, and the servers were the same, nicely dressed very polite and helpful. Our food arrived quickly, hot and abundant, not exactly bacon and eggs, but very good. We were not asked how we wanted our eggs cooked,, so what you see is what you get. My eggs were a little overcooked for my taste, but the lovely K got some yolk run. There was a very good amount of food for the price and it all worked well together. We had the chance to chat with our server who spoke very good English, as it seems most of the people we have come across in our two weeks on the Continent do. We had to go back the next afternoon to try the Strudel of course. We were recognized right away, and the place was quite a bit busier so we walked up the stairs and were sat in the main dining area. The Strudel was quite delicious, and once again abundant and swimming in warm custard, which I wasn't sure of, but man it was good. Also added a Stiegel beer which is brewed right here in Salzburg for over 500 years. Cafe Habakuk is a bit of a throwback to simpler times when good service and great food, at fair prices was the norm rather than the exception and we couldn't be happier. Our next trip back to Salzburg we will most certainly be back!

Because that led me to Le Crobag. We got chocolate croissants, regular croissants, a cinnamon roll and sugar raised doughnut. I wish I tasted it right after we got out because until now, I am still pulling my hair as to why I only bought 1 doughnut! OMG! By far, in my experience of eating doughnuts, Le Crobags is the BEST ONE! I wish I have every adjective I can describe this doughnut. Never have I tasted such kind! Extremely soft.. yes, soft! Fluffy, light, even it didn't have any fillings, yet you taste something that's magical. I think I devoured that thing in less than a minute. Crobag is a French bakery chain with (franchise?) locations across Germany, Austria, Switzerland (and perhaps other countries). I would expect their business model is to have locations in train stations, for I've seen them in quite a few ones. If you're wondering about the name of the bakery chain, it's easy to guess that's would one comes up with if one smashes together a croissant and a baguette. Simple. Effective. Will remind you that this place is focused around breakfast pastries and sandwiches (though I also saw salads). I wouldn't normally review a chain, but in this particular franchise at least, I was quite impressed with their quality. What sold me on them was that they were baking fresh batches of croissant on premises after 7 pm in the evening (probably get the dough delivered from HQ and bake it on location). That really won me over, and while I had no intent on purchasing anything here initially, I stopped and got a marzipan croissant here, for the novelty factor, and quite liked it. (3.5 stars)
