Superior alternative if you are staying in a hotel, and want to avoid exorbitant hotel prices for breakfast. Also, clearly not a secret, as this place is packed by locals. Would recommend making a reservation, even for breakfast, although we lucked out and walked in as a party of four on a rainy Sunday morning. Inside vibe is excellent, and bustling atmosphere adds to the experience. Cappuccino, café latte, and espresso are all top-quality. Scrambled eggs seem to be a known thing here, and they are light and fluffy. Pastries looked great in the displace case, and the croissant was good, not exceptional, but good. Fresh fruit had some highs and lows, as pears and strawberries were good, but kiwis and melons were marginal. Pricing is very reasonable, and service is very attentive. Definite recommendation.

Small side salad (removed egg, tomato's, mushrooms, and radishes) before photograph. Homemade salad dressing was out of this world.

This little gem of a restaurant was OUTSTANDING and the service was great! It was so good we came back the following day. I ordered the same thing and was not disappointed. Ingredients are FRESH. My only wish is that there was a restaurant like this in the USA. When I come back to Germany I will definitely pay Cafe Fingerlos a visit.

Menu coffee and a very good apple strudel!!

This is a great place away from the crowds but close enough to hear the church bells. Tree lined street side cafe with an amazing coffee and strudel. Lots of people here so it must be popular. Strudel has thin flakey layers and a rich apple filling, still warm inside and the dough is light and melts in your mouth. This is an excellent sugar caffeine breakfast for getting your walking day started.

The three dumplings did not disappoint.

The desserts are amazing. The passion fruit one is the best dessert I have eaten in my life.

We stopped at this cafe for breakfast. We tried their Passion fruit and pistachio pastries and dried fruit cake. Both were well made and beautifully presented.

Very good coffee

First time in Salzburg, I wanted to eat breakfast where locals may go and decided this place may be good. They have nice patio seatings available but too many people were smoking when I arrived, so I decided to sit inside. They have a very high ceiling, I loved that open space. They serve very good coffee here. Simple regular coffee with cream was very good. I bet others are good too. I had a simple healthy breakfast as I was tired of eating buffet breakfast at a hotel for the past week and they served with fresh veggies and it was just what needed. Staff speak good English and had friendly smile. Good place to come for breakfast.

Lovely coffee shop with a great vibe and most beautiful display of cakes and pastries. They serve lunch and have a decent selection of reasonably priced items. Wait staff was very attentive and charming. I have been here several times and quality and service are consistently excellent! Thank you for providing memorable experiences!

Excellent coffee, friendly staff, great food!! Everything was wonderful and it was much quieter than some of the other cafes nearby.

Delicious breakfast, and the cappuccino had the best foam I've ever had. Friendly staff, and good service. Would visit again!

Packed at 8:30am on a rainy Sunday morning!

Cute cafe with indoor and outdoor seating that offers a healthy Austria breakfast spread. Quick service and good coffee makes this a nice sit-down spot to eat for tourists and locals on the go. I had the Multigrain Breakfast (€8.20) that came with coffee and frothy milk, a multigrain baguette, a half avocado, diced cucumber and tomato, and a vert tasty trio of creamy spreads. There are plenty of other breakfast options to choose from, whether you want a single croissant or a full plate with eggs, breads, and jams. Breakfast prices range from €5-€16.50. The location is very convenient if you intend to visit the Mirabell Gardens or Mozart's residence, as it is only a four minute walk. This venue is better suited for solo diners or groups no larger than 4. I did not see any families with kids, as the space is a bit finer than your average eatery.

Homemade jams, freshly squeezed OJ, flaky croissants and tasty cheese assortment were highlights of the breakfast. Ordered Fingerlos Fruhstuck (definitely big enough to be shared by 2 or even 3 people). Friendly service and attentive staff.

It tasted very watery and didn't have too much cinnamon. There was also a man at the front selling newspapers so if you ever go to this restaurant, you could ignore him I thought you would have to pay him to get in, but it seems like he's just selling newspapers in the front which I thought was a bit odd

We walked in for brunch, and were immediately seated although it was definitely very crowded. We got the seasonal lunch with toast (zucchini, proscuitto, egg, etc) and an earl grey custard that also came with an espresso on the side. The coffee was so good we decided to order a flat white after since we didn't have enough! We also got the pea hummus brioche (all the brioches looked delicious), which was the most buttery and soft texture. Lastly, my favorite was the carrot hazelnut cake with cashew cream, topped with blueberries and a gooseberry. I will be thinking about that dessert for a while - probably one of my favorite sweet bites this year. The vibes were also very cute inside and all the servers were so sweet and helpful. Must come here if you're in Salzburg!

Tucked away inside and upstairs is their fine dining area. I had the "Salzburg" menu for lunch, since I was stuck in traffic and arrived after the cutoff time for the larger "Carpe Diem" menu. The menu says it is for 2 people, but they will make it for 1 person as well. At the time, I was a little bummed because I wanted more food, but I am glad it turned out that way because I was stuffed. Started out with two amuse bouche items, one with duck, and one with scallops with a mango maracuna (passion fruit/lilikoi) sauce. The scallops paired VERY nicely with the sauce, as I love both mangoes and passion fruit. Next, was the goose liver with kumquat and Brazil nuts. The goose liver was cold/frozen and shaped into small ice cream like scoops and came out with some shave ice type flavors. It made it really easy to eat, but also had to eat it sort of quickly so the shave ice didn't just melt. The candied kumquat skin added a nice tartness to the goose liver. Third, was the black cod, coconut miso, tamarillo, and green asparagus. This was my favorite dish of the set. I had never heard of tamarillo before, but it tasted like papaya. After I looked it up, it is supposed to taste like a mix of passion fruit and tomatoes. Either way, the coconut miso had just enough flavor to complement the fish, but not overpower it. The final dish (before dessert) was veal, cream of spinach, mushrooms and blueberry. I was unsure of what to expect before it arrived, but worked nicely with the tender veal. For dessert, was chocolate, banana, and passion fruit. On the hot day that I dined here, it was perfect to cool off before I headed back out on the road. To top it off, they gave me two chocolate balls to take to go! I am glad that I ended arriving a bit late because I was stuffed. Next time I go to Salzburg, I will make sure to have the "Carpe Diem" menu for dinner and arrive hungry!

I was so mesmerized by the amazing view, I sat down for lunch without checking a menu price. I had mountain lake salmon for lunch and portion size and flavor was very good. Fresh water salmon was sourced locally, probably from one of the lakes I saw from a train up to Salzburg. It was so moist and cooked to perfection. Champagne nicely complimented the lunch, it was truly leisurely moment. It was about 50€ and more than I wanted to pay for lunch but it was just what I needed for relaxing time.

We ordered their M32 breakfast for 2 which consists of various ham, salami, smoked salmon, cheese, eggs, fruits and pasties as well as one cold and one hot beverage per person. Although the food itself wasn't anything extraordinary and seemed like it was just put together with store bought ingredients, for €48, it wasn't too bad of a deal considering it also includes 2 drinks. You also can't beat the view as it provides a panoramic view of the city. The service is slow but I learned that's the norm. Overall, the food isn't the best but I've also only tired their breakfast so I cannot comment on lunch or dinner. It is a great option to relax while enjoying the view of the city.
