When I was visiting several people went out of their way to welcome me and help me to feel welcome. It's definitely the kind of church that has a blended vibe. Sorta the best of both worlds when it comes to some old church stuff and newer church music. The preaching is passionate, scripture-rich and orthodox Wesleyan which I personally really appreciate nowadays. The preachers I've heard don't just sum things up in a less than critical little slogan, or platitude. There's children and families everywhere, really pretty multigenerational. Not really the most racially diverse, but that's Waco in general. They do have a "Hip-Hop" service that I haven't tried out yet. I've made it my church home.

Service is pretty traditional but that is on purpose as they don't prefer loud rock concert type of services. Lots of service in the community and they truly care for the neighborhood surrounding the church which is not always the case for many churches.

She thought the person she met was really kind and wanted to try it but was shy to go alone. When we arrived at church, the college group leader happened to welcome us and literally was so welcoming and authentic. Please keep following up with these college students. They may seem shy but they are watching and listening. Your kindness will help bring them back to church. Love the vision and heart and could not help but feel welcomed. Keep reaching out! They need the kindness and love of Jesus through your ministry! Just an FYI, I felt a presence of God when I entered the building. When we walked into the sanctuary I immediately felt that the building was already too small and God was moving to expand it. The compound that will forever be in the forefront when people think of Waco. The cult based here,…read moretheir way of life, and the tragic way in which the government handled things. It's definitely off the beaten path and there's an eery feeling in the air almost as soon as you turn onto the road. The organization appears to be trying to reinvent itself. If you're visiting Waco, and like me want to experience things that aren't necessarily touristy, this would be a stop for you. It's difficult to find the right words to describe the experience.
