We also wanted to find a place that valued diversity and was honoring of multiple generations, not just placing emphasis on one generation over the other. What we found in New Hope Worship Center exceeded our expectations in every one of these elements. Their leadership team preaches the word passionately, yet with a humility and reverence that I find to be super refreshing. Their worship ministry makes room for the Holy Spirit and has so many incredible worship leaders instead of just hearing from one person all the time. Their children's, student, and young adults ministries are active and growing, and I'm blessed to see how many nationalities are represented throughout the congregation (they hosted an international potluck that blew us away). As an army brat, I've been used to "church shopping" every time our family was reassigned, and unfortunately sometimes you find that local churches can be clique-ish. It can be hard to integrate, especially for military families. But I've never felt so immediately welcome and embraced by a church community than the one we have here. I'm so glad we found New Hope and made them our church home!

A reflecting pool, bronze historical plaques and a 45-foot stainless-steel sculpture by Richard Hunt highlight the park. World renowned sculptor Richard Hunt unveiled his masterpiece "Tower of Aspirations" in this new urban park on February 10, 2002. The second sculpture titled "And They Went Down Both into the Water" was unveiled on June 1, 2006. Still under development for the park are plaques explaining the history of Augusta's Springfield area and the importance that Springfield Baptist Church played in the early and ongoing history of Georgia. This is a beautiful area and there once was a botanical garden just across the street that boasted beautiful greenery and flowers. I scouted this location for an upcoming photo shoot I am doing. I think this is a perfect location with its sleek and elegant look. It will definitely compliment the wardrobe in this photo shoot. I'm very excited to feature this park in my artwork. I know the images will be outstanding and very classic.

This is a small church on the outskirts of town. It is actually the church my grandfather's mother…read moreattended back in the day when she was living. I hadn't been here since I was a child. It's off the beaten path and about 14 miles outside of town. I recently made a visit back here to lay my grandmother to rest in her final resting place, inside of the small church cemetery on the side of the church. The church and it facilities were neatly kept and in a very intimate setting. I saw many of my family's graves as well. Being out here brought back fond memories of my family and my childhood. I can only imagine what kind of fun my loved ones are having up there in heaven. I know they are having a grand ole time, especially since my grandmother has recently gained her wings. I can hear her cracking jokes and making everyone laugh. Rest beautifully grandmother!!!!
