I've often popped in to watch a match as this is one of the more visible boozers on the Uxbridge Road and the Queen Adelaide opposite no longer tries to attract the football crowd. The allegiances to Celtic and QPR are made clear from flags and posters on the walls. On the positive side, there can occasionally be an interesting spot of banter between some of the older regulars once they get warmed up. And the beers are cold and taste ok if Guinness or Lager are what you're after.
On the downside, the punters are generally pretty standoffish and the way the room is laid out doesn't encourage friendliness or chat with the tables widely spaced out. Very few of the tables give a decent view of the screens despite most people trying to follow the football or horseracing.
A bit of a disappointing experience having a drink here and probably worth looking a bit further afield if you have time. read more
