First, you have to be a member, but it's super cheap to get in, even if you're a YMCA member out in Cuyahoga County--and trust me, it's worth the trip. $5 for adults and $4 for kids is a steal, when you think about how much you'll spend at your typical waterpark. Putt-putt, basketball courts, soccer fields, cabins, hiking trails, rollerblading, rock climbing and one helluva sweet water park! Got babes? Try the wadding pool. Youngins? The splash and the kiddie water park is perfect. Or if your kids are strong swimmers, have them take the swim test and enjoy a huge pool with two water slides and aqua rock climbing walls. I swear my boyfriend's 8 1/2 year old lost his friggin' mind (and yes, he requires that I include the half year.) I also love that the snack shack includes healthy and unhealthy snacks, including fruit, froyo, chips, popsicles, ice cream bars, hot dogs, nachos, low calorie and fountain drinks. It is truly a place for everyone, especially the youth. Offering several classes, covering all aspects of art, to the excellent selection of shows. In addition to the traditional theater, the Ashtabula Arts Center offers a unique outdoor theatre known as the Straw Hat Theater. Amazing place to watch a show during the summer months.
