I visited Glastonbury Jewelers on a Saturday to look at tennis bracelets, and found one that I thought I liked. Sandi, one of the saleswomen, was incredibly sweet and helpful and assisted me with trying on the bracelet, recommending sizing for it, etc. As it was clear the bracelet was too big, I paid but left the bracelet to be shortened by half an inch. Later that day and after talking to my husband, I decided I wanted a bigger carat weight bracelet, and he wanted to be the one to buy it for me. I called the store to have them pause on shortening the bracelet, but was unable to get in touch with anyone as the store was closed. Come Tuesday morning, I called the store again (due to them being closed Sunday-Monday) and spoke to the owner's daughter and explained that I wanted to return the bracelet, and have my husband buy me a bigger one; I offered to pay for the time and labor incurred in shortening the bracelet. She assured me that there was no need to pay for the time/labor, and it shouldn't be a problem to add the removed diamond links back to the bracelet. I then decided to swing by the store later that day to receive the refund, and spoke with the owner, Tony. He refused to let me return the bracelet (mind you, the bracelet had not left the store since I bought it Saturday, three days prior) because it had already been shortened (if the store policy is no refunds once an item is shortened, etc, TELL your customers that BEFORE they decide to do so!!) I explained that I no longer wanted the bracelet, and again offered to pay for the time and labor incurred. He refused, stating he couldn't let me return it for a refund as this was "not right" and offered me a store credit. I AGAIN explained that this was no help to me, as I wanted a bigger bracelet that my husband wanted to be the one to buy for me; offering me a credit was just me using the majority of my money for a bigger bracelet. He then went into some rambling explanation of how he had the bracelet "on memo" and couldn't take it back because he needed to sell it....but then also said he would have let me return it had it not been shortened (still not sure how this logic makes any sense, but okay). I half entertained using the credit for something else, and having my husband still purchase me a bigger bracelet; however, each custom item I wanted to make was met with some kind of resistance "it's hard to get a good heart shaped diamond, etc, etc" (no, it's not, as I asked two other jewelers I frequently use who said this was no difficult task). At that point, I was so fed up that I just left and said I'd let Tony know what I'd do. I came back the next day and picked up the bracelet, which I then sold to my aunt who wanted a tennis bracelet. Luckily I got my money back, and am now purchasing a new bracelet and a few other pieces from a jeweler I typically use who actually offers superb customer service. If Anthony hadn't been so resistant, he would have ended up making more money by letting me return the bracelet, as I would have purchased more items and my aunt would have bought the one I returned. Long story short, there's better jewelers with much better customer service and return policies than this one. Avoid!!

I visited the store in September and found the service very disappointing. My visit last was over two hours due to the sales associate jumping from me to other customers. At the end of my visit I was told that I would receive an email of the proposed item of purchase the following Monday. I had not heard back so I called and I was informed that she was busy and would get me my quote that day. When had not heard back in 2 days, I called back again. I was told that they are understaffed and she was overwhelmed. She completed another inquiry and would be working on my order. I was told that she would send me the information that night. There was a timeline for the item as it was a gift I expressed my frustration with the delays and my concerns and the associate abruptly hung up. I did not receive the quote as promised again. I have been a past customer here for many purchases and never experienced such poor service. They are not attentive to the customer and do not follow through with a commitment. Unfortunately I will no longer be a dedicated customer as they do not value customers as they did in the past

I had people wanting to buy that chair for years. This is only one example of how this place steals your things and sells them for themselves. Again, I can't stand a thief or a liar. Grab an auction number at the desk on the right when you walk in. 18% credit card buyers premium, 15% with debit card to be paid at the same desk once you've won an auction. Easy enough. You can leave bids on items before the auction starts and/or wait to bid live in person or by phone. Bring a paper and pad to jot down the lots you want to bid on because it moves fast and not in any order I could discern. If you ask the helpers, they'll move your items into an auction call queue so you don't have to be there till the end. Staff is friendly. All kinds of odds and ends from vintage cookware to furs to coins to furniture. They do auction & consignment. There's the gavel grill with some food options. There's the main room as described above and a side room, to the left, with early bird auctions running concurrently. Prices are all over the place depending on type of item and who's in attendance that wants the same thing you do. There's some good deals to be had. It's an adventure. Good luck

The other companies wanted to completely redo my ring which was given to me by my parents for my new engagement. So this ring has a lot of sentimental value to it. I was quoted 750 from the first jeweler to have the whole band replaced with new prongs which I was told was mandatory or I wld loss my diamond. I then went to two other jewelers which said the same and quoted me 450 then the last quoted me 350. Me notknowing anything almost went with the 350. Well not needing to rush I waited and looked for a mom and pop jeweler. I then find J and J jewlers and had my very comforting conversation. I go in and spoke to the owners which were a married couple and thier son who was the jeweler about what needed to be done with my ring without changing it too much but keeping my diamond safe. They all look at and said the band was in good condition and all of my prongs were good except ine that was bent. I also needed it sized. They quoted me $40 to have mt ring done. Safe diamond and repaired not redone. They were extremely thorough and friendly. I assumed I would need to leave my rinf for a week or two. The jeweler which was the son said it would be done in 45 min. My jaw dropped in shock. Me being newly engaged I was so excited to have my ring back the very same day. I also had seen a negative review about them switching diamonds out and something about a watch repair. I showed my concern and the son made me feel very safe with them having ny ring. He mapped out my diamond so I wld know it was mine and was not switched. So that review was not helpful in any way and in my eyes seemed very inaccurate and distasteful. He actually apoplized for my concern. My experience was amazing the best by far. I will he back to buy my wrap for my ring and all my sizing and repairs will be done there. To top it off I wasnt sure if I wld make it back in time to get my ring before 6 when they close. The son told me he wld wait for me to get it because I get out at 6 and may be a few minutes later then 6. That was great customer service. And in the end they inly charged me 25 for the sizing because they only had to twist a prong in place. I will be sending people there for repairs and they now have me a loyal customer for such great work. I am a very happy soon to be bride with a safe diamond ring sized just right.
