Be wary. Stephanie is NOT a therapist. She is not registered or licensed with the Board of Behavioral Sciences, which is required if you are to provide therapy. My partner and I went to her for couples counseling and sex therapy and I was constantly shamed by her. There were some things she was helpful with, and she was very sweet, but overall did more harm than good. My partners lack of pulling their weight in the relationship and displays of toxic, borderline emotionally abusive behaviors were immediately shut down by her. I was told not to "shame" my partner and asked "why I allowed it." When my partner admitted to their lack of follow through on things that made them unreliable, I was asked if my "daddy trust issues" were the reason. And then we moved on. My mental exhaustion from my partners lack of taking responsibility and attentiveness was instead framed as me having an iron deficiency. In which's he called her sister into the room and prescribed me supplements. She's not a medical doctor. She heavily colluded with my partner, rarely holding them accountable, and kept telling me I needed to just get in touch with my feminine goddess energy and just initiate sex more. It was truly an awful experience. Even such, her replying to reviews on here, admitting to the other poor review that she doesn't know them breaks confidentiality, something an ethical therapist would know. She is a sex educator and that's it. I wouldn't trust her with trauma or actual relationship issues other than trying to improve your sex life (and only if there are no other issues present). read more

Our marriage was in serious trouble when we went to see this therapist, and we put our trust in her. Stephanie raised red flags for both of us, and we agreed that neither of us liked her approach. Later, we found out that she had told both of us separately that the marriage was over and that we should get divorced. In my opinion unless there's abuse going on, I don't think a good therapist should ever give you advice like that. Especially when the whole reason you're there is to work on your relationship. I'm glad we didn't listen to her, but instead went to a professional and saved our marriage. Stephanie is a tremendous therapist -- she has helped me SO much. I was dealing with a host of sexual issues for a long time in my life but due to some astute comments and observations she has made during out very first session in November, some repressed memories came up. It was no fun dealing with those feelings in my body, emotions, feeling the broken heart of stuff that happened so long ago that it was repressed and forgotten but the trauma was still there. Thanks to Stephanie -- I was able to find the root cause and while dealing with those emotions was no fun -- it gave me a chance to heal them. Only three years later and with some pretty intense therapy -- the issue is largely resolved and I feel lighter than ever! She is really great with trauma. This stuff is so heavy to process when it's coming up but much better than walking around with that heaviness all of your life. The structure of my therapy sessions began with a 5-10 minute phone call to discuss whether or not I wanted to schedule an initial appointment and whether Dr. Stephanie felt like she would be able to offer me the proper guidance. From there, we did our first session, in which she was able to diagnose the areas of my life where I was experiencing the most dysfunction (attachment issues, savior complex, etc -- the therapy was worth this awareness alone!!!)
