Here we go again , this isn't about this store but it is about the customer service representatives that they keep referring me to. I purchased a tv in 2021 and there is a now a line going down the tv. I called the service repair department in NOVEMBER they sent a 1 technician, for one the technician never showed instead he called and said" I can't do it , the tv is to big" I asked him why did they only schedule him if they knew it was a 65, he continued to say in a rude tone and just say well I can't do it I will have them call you and hung up. Fast forwarded we are now in FEB I reached out again and now they are saying it has to be a 3 rd party to fix my tv. Oh and they have to call me to make an appointment once again this place is a scam. They overcharge you for insurance but when it's time to use it , it's always an issue. I am waiting for corporate to reach out to me about my other problem but I have yet to hear anything and OH corporate doesn't have a number , you have to email them and it says it only takes 1 day to respond but their response doesn't even be about your issue , they just say some bs like " unfortunately we can't do this , you have to reach out to this department " but once you reach out to that department they tell you it's somebody else's problem. read more

I purchased a TV from the Conns Home Plus on South Main Street. My salesman, Rajool was outstanding! I'm a repeat customer. There was an issue with the TV--we brought in back within 2 days of purchase. The assistant manager, Crystal Escamilla, is the reason for this review. She refused to listen to what the issue with the TV was. She didn't even deign to look at the TV. She told us we had no right to bring it back, since the sales associate opened the TV at the store to test it, and it was fine. She said as soon as the TV left the store, all liability was on us. I reviewed the return policy online (I'm an attorney) and was in compliance with the policy. She proceeded to put the purchase contract and highlighted several sections CONFIRMING my compliance. She then got angry and said she would not help us. She went so far as asking us to leave. Her lack of professionalism was egregious and inexcusable. We went to the Conn's on Gessner and had an AWESOME experience. Sadly, we will not return to see Rajool, who is a stellar employee at the South Main store because of the assistant manager, Crystal Escamillia's ineptitude and failure to understand her own store return policy. After buying a 55" Samsung Tv and many other items here "same as cash" I noticed that every item had an additional "insurance" charge almost doubling my bill.. Now I find the icing on the cake is that my almost $2,000 TV broke 90 days later because it took an automatic update while I was walking my dog that fried the brain and the power source out. Since the $250 warranty that Conn's charged me for unknowingly doesn't include replacement just repair I have been waiting for 10 days for them to order the part for my TV and I have a tiny television I got for free hooked up in front of my curved 55 inch Samsung piece of crap! Any other warranty would have just replaced my television instead I get a 24 hour window for a repair and I'm told every day that the parts should be in by next week and they promise they're going to call me. If you're in Conns right now please grab your purse, grab your keys, grab your kids, grab your baby's momma and walk out the door and run back to your car! Do not shop Conn's Home Plus. They sold me a defective dishwasher and gave me the runaround for 2 weeks to deliver it. Finally delivered on 12/30. Then they no showed on the 2nd to install it. And when the installer finally came on the 8th, he said it was missing so many parts it could not work. When I called customer service, they said I exceeded the 3 day return policy and they won't take it back. When I bought it they were supposed to deliver it on 12/22 and install it on 12/27. The store manager said if it didn't work on installation I'd have three days to return it. Not 3 days from the time they dropped it off. Their own installer could not make it work. SCAMMERS & LIARS. I bought $7000.00, (11/26) worth of furniture and the delivery date was (11/30) the bed headboard was messed up! The delivery boy was upset that he had to bring it up to the 4th floor and then take the headboard back down. They parked on the incorrect side of the building which made an even longer walk. He tried to convince me to keep the headboard. When my replacement came in the delivery was scheduled for 11-2PM, 12/2. I called at 1:59 because there was there was NO DELIVERY, and was told they were "running behind" I was stop #4 and they were on #2. Then they lied and said that they had problems getting in to the security gate at 1:40PM. However; I was on the phone with their customer representative at that time. But the driver DID NOT call nor go into the apartment complex for assistance. Now once again I'm without a bed for the 3rd day in a row! Do not trust this company, because they are dishonest. I would've respected them more had they just called and stated they couldn't deliver due to the delays. I request the entire order be cancel and now they are giving me the run around. Also when calling customer service that night the representative kept transferring me into cue and would not transfer me to a supervisor. I had to call the store who says he has to ask for approval to cancel my order. This has been THE WORSE customer service experience I have ever had. They deserve a -10. Conn's returned to my home today with new valve, and it didn't fix the problem so I'm still without water or an ice maker on my new refrigerator. Was told by technician that I have to wait on manufacturer to send someone out and they are closed. I now have to miss work again for a refrigerator I bought less than 3 months ago that I have a warranty on, and that I have made several service calls for, this is absolutely ridiculous and unacceptable customer service from Conn's when they have probably 50+ of these refrigerators in stock and won't bring me a new one, so my only help is to go to the news media add ask for help. Conn's management I hope you don't treat all your customer's like this, it's very bad for business and not a good look as a customer base business. This has been my worst experience. i ordered the Rockefeller dresser very nice style but the material was complete trash. it broke within a month and it took forever for a repair technician to come out. once the repair technician came out , he said hisself that the material the dresser was made out off was not good and it would be NO point of repairing it because it would break again. Conns told me I could not get a refund I can only exchange up to$700. there is nothing in the store that want but I was will to get a nightstand just so I could end my business with them , the nightstand was only 100 , I told them I didn't want a refund for the money left over and now they are say g regardless ifd have to pay the full 700.Thru are literally taking money and not working with nothing . The service is ok and Rajjool was nice but it doesnt change the fact that buying furniture from here is a rip off, I am putting in a dispute and reaching out to corporate . If I could give them 0 stars I would, first it was the issue on repairing my freezer. then they told me to file a claim to get reimbursed for the warranty that they would not honor. That was over 2 months ago and I still haven't even received a response. But the WORST part is that were in the middle of this PANDEMIC and I informed them several times that my income was affected drastically, and they still reported it to my credit that I'm delinquent. Got some new cell phones for my kids at Best Buy. One of the numbers was apparently used in the past, and we have had ten calls in one day from Conns collections department for the past week. Sometimes the calls were all at one time, one right after the other. I told them we are not associated with Conns, we have never purchased from Conns, nor have we ever been into a store, we just activated this phone number, so please remove us from the call list. WE ARE GETTING TWENTY CALLS NOW. Thank God we are within the return policy for the phones, and will return the line to deactivate, and replace with another number. What a joke, I feel sorry for those who have had to use this store, they seem horrible! read more

Purchased an electric range. Sales lady was professional, and this review does not reflect her. Everything else turned out to be the worst nightmare buying experience I have ever had, and I am 71 years old. When the range was being delivered they had put a 4 foot power cord on it. I live in an older apartment, and this cord was too short to reach the outlet. The guys who delivered the range told me that I had to remove the cord by myself, then take it to Conn's, and Conn's would replace it with the right one. After uninstalling the cord, I took it to Conn's, only to be told by the manager that they didn't have a 6 foot power cord and I was out of luck. I then told them to take it back, only to be told that I would be hit with a 15% restocking fee if I did that. I then threatened the manager with a lawsuit, citing the Texas Warranty of Merchantibility law. After that, I drove to Lowe's, bought the 6 foot cord there, and drove back to Conn's and turned the 4 foot cord back in, and was refunded the charge on the cord, which was almost 35 dollars. I was also refunded the haul away fee because the old range was not hauled away. This I can understand because the apartment I live in is very old, and there were roaches in the old range. However, I had to move the old range outside by myself. This was very difficult for me because I have heart problems and high blood pressure that I am being treated for. My whole body is very sore from the exertion I had to make. I've been a customer of Conn's for about 30 years, but no more. Customer service has gone into the toilet to the point that I wouldn't be surprised if one of their customers who also has health problems died because of having to deal with the same type of problem I had. These people are totally heartless.... Well, maybe not totally. They have a heart. It's a cash register. Conn's would make a great poster boy for corporate corruption. The only reason I am giving a one star review is because there is no option to give a zero. read more

Very clean showroom and friendly people that work at this South Main location. No pressure just gave me the information I needed to make my TV purchase. I was treated as a person, and not a dollar sign. The sales person and manager plus the ladies at the front desk were very friendly and nice and easy to talk to. read more

The communication between the installation department and Conns 9567 S Main St Houston, TX 77025 needs to be improved upon. The salesman told me when the installation would take place and that I'd get a courtesy call. When the tech called he told me he did not have a helper. I agreed to reschedule so I took off of work the next day to be available for the installation of the product after confirming with the installation tech and the customer service personnel. Yet, they did not record my request to reschedule to 7/26/22. In fact, it was recorded that it was already installed (7/25/22) when it was actually still in a box. I was left waiting at home still unable to use the product and the installation tech never answered my call. I was inconvenienced and I am highly dissatisfied with their poor communication practices. Perhaps if they were able to install on the day of delivery the situation would have worked out much better. I have had the product for only two days, I live 3 min away from this location and now that I want to return the product after losing hours at work I am being told I need to pay the restock fee to return although I was inconvenienced + the delivery fee although the product is unopened. read more

DO NOT BUY FROM CONN'S!!!! The name says it all a bunch of Con artist. My parents bought a GE washer and dryer set this past summer. They both broke within the first week. They could not get a different appliance unless they paid a restocking fee. Conn's came out on the service call and fixed the washer on the spot, but the dryer needed a new part(starting switch). They had to wait another week for the part. The switch has burned out for the 4th time, but they can not get a replacement because they did not purchase the extended warranty. My mom is 76yrs old & confined to her home so she can not go to the washateria. So you can imagine how backed up her laundry is at this point. Conn's passes the buck to GE, and GE passes it back. I bought a Samsung refrigerator from Conn's in 2015. I year after having this brand new refrigerator, inside of the back wall panel froze and water leaked and damaged my kitchen floor. I had them to come out only for them to charge me just under $300 to fix the problem. Oh I forgot to mention that the ice make had stopped working too. The technician said that I should not have a problem again. If I did, they would come back out at no cost to me. Well 6 months after that the ice maker would freeze up periodically and not make ice. I frig is 3 years old and it does not make ice and the frig does not keep my food cold. All of my food has spoiled again and again. read more

My sister came in with my credit card (in which she was included on) to purchase a twin mattress set on Wednesday 8/21/2019 at this location. I'm disabled now and she's my right arm, so I was surprised and kinda hurt the sales person wouldn't work with me after she told him my situation. The sales person wouldn't accept my card nor my coupon for 100.00 off for a purchase of 500.00 or more. He said she couldn't use it because her name didn't appear on the card. She's has no problems using this card any place else except here. The associate could've care less. Mind you, I've purchased over the years at least 20,000.00 worth of furniture from your Conn's store in Gulgate. Never had a complaint or missed one single payment! Anyway, screw that, she went on to Mattress Firm (as she told the Conn's sales person who wouldn't accept our card) on Buffalo Speedway, who accepted our credit card, payment was accepted, got my beautiful twin set which was delivered the next day for less than I would've with the coupon from Conn's. I was very dissatisfied with my experience at Conn's. The manager Brandon was incompetent , rude, and unprofessional. The sales associate wasn't knowledgeable about the different tv's we were interested in. We were sold a tv with no box, no remote, and also weren't informed the HDMI ports didn't work!..At the time of purchase none of these things were mentioned before the sale was finalized...on top of that they sold us a HDMI cord that didn't work particularly for the tv we purchased. I've had the worst experience with Conn's...9/22/19 I bought a washer and dryer that I spent $100.00 for a uhaul to pick up on Wednesday 9/25/19 only to be told by the manager (Arika) that there's no drainage hose and to come back Friday to pick it up (which I did) only for the hose not to fit and spew water 3x's all over my floor and the washer doesn't even spin or work properly! I immediately called the store and was told in order for me to have a new washer delivered next day I'd have to come back to the store and choose a full priced washer that was in stock...So I did and Saturday 9/28/19 I spent at least 4hrs hanging around the store for them to guarantee me that the new FULL priced(no discounts) washer would be delivered next day Sunday 9/29/19. Sunday came and no washer!!! I called the delivery warehouse and was told that the washer I pick was NOT in stock at all!! I was given excuses and more excuses then I was told by (Arika) that the washer would be delivered to a Conn's store nearest my home and someone from that (Katy) store would deliver it Sunday evening FOR SURE.... That NEVER happened!! Monday I took the day off from work and patiently awaited my washer and by 6pm no washer again!! I actually drove to Conn's in Katy myself to complain about this God awful situation and what do you know...there's my washer sitting in the back of the store waiting to be delivered!!! So here we go again... I was told Tuesday it will be delivered! So Tuesday morning 10am I call and talk to Arika(manager) about the delivery and was GUARANTEED I will receive my washer today because she's talking and working with the warehouse manager to insure I get my washer today....Then I get a call saying that the delivery guys went to pick up the washer at the (supposed) location and it wasn't there...NOT true because I touched and saw it with my own eyes!! Guess what? It's 10/1/19 and I still don't have my washer that may or may not be delivered 10/2/19. I HATE Conn's furniture and appliances with a passion for putting me through all of this frustration and headaches when all I did was bend backwards over and over again even giving back the $200 discount I received for the first broken washer! Not to mention the dryer takes forever to dry but as the reps that I spoke with put it "I'm stuck with everthing and can't take it back! On May 26, 2017 I went into the store, 9567 Main St, Houston, TX 77025. I purchased a GE refrigerator and so an awesome deal on a reduced price bed. When I looked over the bed, I was informed that it was as is since it was a floor model. The sales person, Juan, and I looked over the bed. He worked one remote and I worked the other. This bed works off of 2 remotes. As we looked over the bed Juan explained to me how he has the same bed and also persuaded me to buy the bed covers. After making the purchase, we went over to the Manager, Brandon, for final review. He thanked me and instructed Juan to wrap the bed and the remotes up for delivery tomorrow. On May 27, 2017, the delivery driver came to my home and my husband phoned me at work to ask where the remotes were. I informed him that the remotes should have come wrapped with the bed. I spoke to the delivery driver and he informed me that when picking up the bed from the store an employee stated that they had given me the remotes when I purchased them, which did not occur. I phoned Juan at the store and informed him that the remote was missing. He stated that he had wrapped the remotes with the bed and that he would go to where the bed was to look for it. My husband calls the store and talks to someone who states that the bed was as is and it did not come with 2 remotes. This was false because Juan and I handled them at the bed when looking over it. I called Juan and he then states that he does not remember it being 2 remotes. I informed them to roll the camera back at the store and he will see that we both had a remote in hand. I then spoke with the manager, Brandon, who instructed me that there would not be another bed at this price and that I could purchase another remote. He also stated that if I sent the bed back that the bed would be clearance out. The bed getting clearance and the price being low is not a reason for me to keep an item that was not in the same condition when I viewed it. I informed him that you're basically going to tell me that if you went to a Lexus store and they delivered you a Toyota you would just accept it because it was a deal. No. As Is means that you buy in the condition in which you view the item not when it is delivered missing part of what you viewed at the store. The delivery driver called customer service and customer service phoned the store and spoke with the assistant manager, Jo'Quil . The assistance manager phoned me and informed me that she had spoken with the manufacturer and that they would be mailing me out a remote. She is the true definition of exceptional customer service. Mr. Brandon on the other hand, was total opposite. Instead of taking me, the customer, into consideration he tried to make me focus on the fact that I was getting a deal. I have been a customer for almost 10 years and I have never had an experience like this from Conn's. As a sale person of Conn's, Mr. Juan, should have just been honest and stated that there was some kind of mistake that occurred and tried to assist in the same nature that Ms. Jo'quil did. Mr. Brandon and Mr. Juan need to understand that it should not be based on the number of dollars that you gain or the number of products that you sale, but it is based on the quality of service that you receive. The quality on my day of delivery was very poor and it made me feel as if "you bought it, it's yours, and there is nothing we can do for you". I will never recommend anyone to this Conn's and hope that no one else has to deal with this from them. read more

The sales staff is great but they are limited by the trash that owns the operation and the totally incompetent accounting staff. I made a payment online which they returned to me by paper check and then reported me to the credit bureau as 30-days late. I sent the check back because the return of my payment was their error. I've reported them to the FTC and the Texas Attorney General and Consumer Affairs. read more

I have been a customer of Conns for 10 years & have purchased many, many things from them. Just recently I purchased a new 3 piece sofa set & as soon as it was delivered I sat on them & noticed that you can feel the wood coming thru the armrests at your hip on all the pieces. I immediately called conns & let them know there was a problem. They sent out a furniture repair man & in just minutes sitting on all 3 pieces he totally agreed with me on what I was stating! I did not want me money back just to exchange them for another sofa set that did not have this problem. I have been on the phone many times with customer service & went into the store to talk with the manager. Now im stuck with a $3,200 bill on a couch set that is painful to sit up against. I told them I have been an excellent customer for all this time & want to have this made right! Do not buy furniture from Conns!! They are cheap pieces & very overpriced!
