The evaluator suggested he would greatly benefit from private therapy. I started searching for places after calling the Children's Hospital which had a...wait for it...1 year wait time for an evaluation only. Acorn has online scheduling (!) and text reminders for appointments. They also had openings for an evaluation within a week or two, sooner if you are open on time. There are multiple types of therapy offered as well as some sort of summer camp type thing. The lobby has toys to play with while you wait. There are multiple kids in therapy with different therapists at the same time which I've seen as a benefit. My kid loves coming here. He stands at the door signing "open" waiting for his therapist (Jenna Beth) to come get him. The appointment time is the same every week. They have been open 2 years at this point and are privately owned. I highly suggested giving this place a try if you are looking for therapy for your little one. They accept insurance and all my visits are covered.

How a occupational therapist tells patient on Wednesday " I will be right back for your therapy" we are now at the following Monday and she has not been back as of yet...are you serious? Also why is the front door being manned by a 90 year old woman in a wheelchair and no one at a front desk? I would imagine that is a HUGE security breach...My son called to state his complaints and got nowhere with the social worker. No workers seen this past Sunday...he walked halls and saw no one....Also why when a patient has to be transferred to a hospital 10 min away, it took almost 2 hours....Can someone please clean up the urine that is all over the bathroom floor...this is NEGLECT to the max, and I will be working on getting the patient out of there ASAP!!!!!!! Good luck getting anyone to answer the phone in the evening. My mother was transported there for PT following a severe infection that left her unable to walk. Within 48 hours she was transported to an area hospital covered in bruises from her fall out of bed -- she was classified as a fall risk. The worst part was I heard the news from the ER Nurse at the hospital --- no phone call at all from the facility. The night and weekend staff is lacking on so many levels, there is not enough room to even go into the details. When I finally got to speak to a supervisor - there are none onsite at night or on weekends, she said they had no contact info. Really? They called me from the facility she arrived, and wrote down mine and my brothers info when I arrived, not to mention all of the records they would have received from the hospital. Understaffed and incompetent are two words that come immediately to mind. Thankfully she didn't suffer any brain damage or broken bones from this fall. The extent of these injuries could have only occurred if that bed was left up as high as it could go, and side rails not put up. I don't want to even think about how long a confused 87 year old woman laid on the floor before being found. She was so scared when I go to the hospital. Don't miss the photos. Right away they identified the problem, and bot only built a program for me but explained the goal of each piece and taught me how to add it into my day/workouts outside of with them so I would experience lasting results. I was worried physical therapy would be for me because I worked out on my own and surely I could fix it myself. Man was I wrong I enjoyed going and getting a great workout every week with them. In order to keep me working hard and ensure I was strengthening my leg they modified my workout to include blood flow restriction on my legs so I could get the workout that would normally take me pretty heavy weights and a long time to get. I would highly suggest this place everyone but especially to people who already are active but need just a bit of extra help to get back to where they want to be.

My 30ish daughter was just released from the stroke unit after suffering several stokes. The…read moretherapists are excellent and she made great progress! The nursing and tech staff are an entirely different matter. Every patient is supposed to receive a check from a nurse or tech at least once each hour. A family member was with my daughter almost all of the rime she was a patient. 4-5 hours passed before anyone checked on her in the daytime. Night time checks were even farther apart. I wonder how many patients have suffered a stroke that was missed, possibly resulting in death, certainly a delay of treatment. Pushing a call button is probably impossible when having a stroke. The response to a call button will take 20 minutes to an hour. Last, but not really least, the food is terrible. We took in most omeals for our daughter. Therapist were excellent, kind a caring. The nursing/tech staff spent more time in the nurses station goofing off than caring for patients. It was nearly impossible to sleep through their chatter and laughter.

This is such a nice rehab facility…read more My father in law was here for about 10 days after foot surgery and we came to visit and picked him up when he checked out. It's less than a year old and everything is pristine, including landscape and upkeep. Staff are SO nice and took excellent care of my father in law. He raved about all of them and he came out in such better shape than the previous surgery, where he did not go to rehab afterwards. It's located in a beautiful suburb area of town with a Whole Foods, Target and tons of others things 2 minutes away. So, if you need to get something for a loved one here it'll be super easy.
