The evaluator suggested he would greatly benefit from private therapy. I started searching for places after calling the Children's Hospital which had a...wait for it...1 year wait time for an evaluation only. Acorn has online scheduling (!) and text reminders for appointments. They also had openings for an evaluation within a week or two, sooner if you are open on time. There are multiple types of therapy offered as well as some sort of summer camp type thing. The lobby has toys to play with while you wait. There are multiple kids in therapy with different therapists at the same time which I've seen as a benefit. My kid loves coming here. He stands at the door signing "open" waiting for his therapist (Jenna Beth) to come get him. The appointment time is the same every week. They have been open 2 years at this point and are privately owned. I highly suggested giving this place a try if you are looking for therapy for your little one. They accept insurance and all my visits are covered.

My son was born with an extensive list of medical issues (including hydrocephalus & cerebral palsy, level 3), due to prematurity, causing him to have extreme delayed motor skills. He is 2 & struggled with sitting up & could not stand. But, within 3 weeks.. he is now sitting completely independently, standing up & pulling up on furniture all on his own.
