We were greeted with sparkling wine at check. The check in process was smooth. The staff offered to take our bags to our room. The room was clean with a nice bathroom, though getting into and out of the shower was kind of tight. The gym was small but had what I needed. The executive lounge had breakfast which had some decent options but had gnats flying around the food. I unfortunately didn't get to go to the happy hour. One issue I had was with a food delivery. I called down to reception to let them know I had a delivery on the way that didn't have tracking so I asked them to call my room when it arrived because I was traveling and didn't have phone service so the delivery driver could not call. They said of course. 40 mins later, no call. I go downstairs to wait and see if the delivery comes. I asked the receptionist if I could use the phone because I was waiting for a food delivery and the restaurant told me the food was delivered to reception and they refused to call me because they don't want to wake people up(?). Even if I was asleep, I would obviously want the food I ordered. I also specifically called and asked the receptionist to call me when the food was there. Additionally, when I asked to call the restaurant because I was waiting on a food delivery she failed to mention the food she accepted that was sitting behind the desk. None of that made sense and she couldn't come up with a reasonable response as to why she didn't call me after I requested that. Now I had cold food in a hotel with no public microwaves. When I asked about a microwave I was told one could be brought to my room the next morning. How would that be helpful? This is obviously a unique situation but this hotel is too high end and expensive for that type of service. Otherwise it was an okay stay but that experience would keep me from staying there again.

This was our first trip to London and a vaca/anniversary celebration. We had the most incredible time, and staying at the Conrad London St. James was the perfect choice! From the moment we arrived, the service was impeccable, and the hotel itself was pristine. We were even upgraded to a junior suite for our anniversary, and as a Diamond member we had executive lounge access where we enjoyed delicious food, snacks, and drinks throughout our stay. The location couldn't have been better and was close to St. James Park, and walking distance to iconic landmarks like Buckingham Palace, Big Ben, Westminster Abbey, and Parliament. There was even a London Underground station was right outside the door. We also had an amazing dinner at The Pem Restaurant, which celebrates traditional British cuisine, and on another day, indulged in INFINItea at The Orchard Room. The staff made everything so special, with thoughtful touches like little notes and check-ins; chocolates and champagne delivered to our room, and an amazing turn-down service that made our evenings feel extra luxurious. If you're looking for a luxury hotel experience in London, I absolutely recommend the Conrad London St. James!

Had a really nice meal at the Hedgerow Bar at the Conrad London St. James. Stopped in for a meeting and they brewed me some really delicious iced tea and I had a Caesar salad with salmon - expected it to be grilled, but it was actually smoked salmon and it turned out to be really excellent. A bit of a UK Caesar salad with salmon I guess but delicious and the staff were super friendly and accommodating.

My mom and I stayed here for a week in early December, and I truly can't say enough wonderful things about the staff. They went out of their way to make our stay perfect. We were there to celebrate my mom's 75th birthday, and were welcomed to our room with cake, balloons, and sparkling wine -- such a thoughtful touch. The doormen were consistently warm and cheerful, always greeting us with a smile. And the breakfast -- where to even begin? It was beautiful, plentiful, and included in our room rate. One morning they didn't have an item we'd enjoyed previously, and they went out of their way to make it specially for us. Overall, the level of service at this hotel is truly outstanding. Highly recommend.

Excellent Stay in the Heart of London - 9/10 We stayed in a King Suite for 3, and the room was absolutely amazing--spacious, well-appointed, and the bed sheets were incredibly comfortable. The hotel itself is very clean and well-maintained. The location is unbeatable--walking distance to St. James's Square, Big Ben, Buckingham Palace, and pretty much everything you'd want to see in central London. Only downside was the gym--it's very small and barely equipped, which was a bit of a letdown. Otherwise, a fantastic stay. Highly recommend for comfort, location, and overall luxury.

Location! Location! Location! Not only was the location close to many of the landmarks and must see's, it was also a full service hotel. The bed was very comfortable, down comforter and pillows. By its location you might think the hustle can be heard in the rooms but nope; making for a good night sleep. Yes I say stay at the Conrad.

The good: across the street from a Tube station. Great team working the lobby and the front door area. Executive lounge food and staff exceeded our expectations. Room was large for a London hotel room. The bad: hotel housekeeping was almost non existent. We had to call them every day to clear our dishes and bottles. For the money we paid it was not worth it. We booked through Amex Travel and no guarantees for upgrade were offered. No explanations on what was included. We didn't know that the water was free in the room. The hallways are dated and dark.

A frequent Conrad guest around the world, the Conrad London St. James exceeded other locations in service, but didn't in accommodations. Checking in for a night in July 2023, let's start with service. The moment we walked in, two gentlemen greeted us and took our bags, later putting them in our room once it was ready. The front desk person was warm and walked us to the elevator, leading us to the executive lounge while we waited for our room to be ready. The executive lounge is clean, spacious, and comes with a spread or sandwiches, cookies, macaroons, and different little glass bottles of drinks. Once our room was ready, the same woman at the front desk personally delivered our room keys. In the evening, little chocolates were left on our pillows and slippers put by our beds. Breakfast the next morning was a breeze and a spread of hot food, pastries, a yogurt and granola bar, and more. Our server was phenomenal and endeared herself to our six-year-old daughter. Once we checked out, they looked after our bags while we explored London. In terms of the accommodations, we stayed in room 230. Multiple outlets didn't work. The room is clearly old and dark. The bed was very comfortable, but everything else was average. The hotel itself is historic and within walking distance to Buckingham Palace.

I cannot say enough great things about this hotel and my stay there. From the moment we arrived, Dave (the doorman) was on point; immediately helping us out of our vehicle, taking our luggage, and leading us to check-in. At check-in we were welcomed with sparkling wine and got a general tour of the hotel to include information about the lounge we would have access to. The lounge was perfect, with drinks and snacks throughout the day; in addition to alcoholic beverages in the evening. The food was small and intended to hold you over to your next meal which it did perfectly. We did have breakfast in there twice and the pastries were lovely. The room was beautiful and appropriately sized with all the amenities we needed. The fridge was stocked and there was plenty of coffee (although I elected for a morning cappuccino in the lounge!) We had a nice view and I loved sitting at the window people watching while drinking coffee or a glass of wine. I had several interactions with Maria and Kate (concierge) and they were absolutely perfect. They helped us with a map and some directions and recommendations to bookstores and one night I had a personal emergency that they immediately jumped in to take care of for me. We were in London for a concert which we expressed to the concierge, and to my surprise we came back from the concert around 1am to a feast! We had a complete turn-down service with chocolates on the bed, our robes ready for a much needed shower, our slippers on a mat next to the bed, and several bottles of water, snacks, and fruits to replenish ourselves. This was the perfect ending to a long night and not something we expected at all. Before we left for the concert, Dave provided us key information about the parking situation since we would be getting back to the hotel so late. This hotel had one common theme throughout our stay. They wanted to do anything they could to ensure we enjoyed our stay and that did that well! This was the most relaxed and stress free vacation I've ever had because of the wonderful people that helped us at the Conrad, even with the couple of bumps we had. I don't know that I'll ever be able to stay in another hotel!

Stay Anywhere for the Price Had a lovely stay at the Conrad in 2015. It was a beautiful, glamorous hotel. Unfortunately, almost a decade later, very little has changed. What was once was new and shiny is now worse for wear and in desperate need of a fresh coat of paint. Having recently stayed at the Conrad Osaka, the differences are so stark that it's hard to believe these are the same hotel chain. The rudeness of the receptionist upon checking in threw up alarm bells immediately. Especially after the kindness of the staff at a sister hotel we had grown accustomed to. Regardless, even without the luxury touches that Conrad hotels generally possess, the room itself is serviceable. What is harder to ignore is the general state of the amenities. Upon arriving, none of the phones in the room worked. The telephone in the bathroom (somewhat unnecessary for us, but useful for others) pulled off from the wall and no one bothered to fix it. Housekeeping did not even bother to clean the bathtub. There are wonderful things about the location. You are close to an underground station. You are close to Big Ben, Westminster, and all other manner of wonderful sites. The hotel itself, however, is next to a noisy pub. So you will be treated to other less wonderful sights, like people throwing up a mere stones throw away from the entrance. Twenty four hours later, vomit still there! Let's be honest here. If you can afford the exorbitant prices they are charging to stay at the Conrad, you can stay at any of their other competitor hotels who will likely offer much better experiences for the money. For the price, the Conrad simply isn't worth it. And this is coming from a Hilton Gold Member. I would advise the Hilton to sell it so it doesn't further lessen the brand's value. I, for one, know I will look at all future Conrads with far more skepticism than before. *** By the way, if you are wondering what happens when they respond with a nice "response" to a negative review saying that you should contact their General Manager so that they can speak with you? Nothing. Nothing happens. They do nothing.

We were greeted and assisted by an employee who observed us bringing multiple baggages up the entryway stairs. He wished us a Happy Anniversary, informed us that we were being upgraded to a suite on the fifth floor (room 503 yay yay!), shared the many amenities of the hotel, and handed us our keycards. Prior to our arrival in Kensington, we had been staying in smaller boutique hotels during our visits in Amsterdam and Paris. Therefore, the abundance of space in our suite almost made us feel like we were at home. Entering the room, we were greeted by a couch (with a TV mounted nearby) positioned in front of a sliding glass door that lead to a patio with two chairs and a table (not to mention a decent of the city). The kitchen area was complete with a microwave, utensils, plates, bowls, tea cups, coffee mugs, drinking glasses, and champagne flutes. On the counter was an expresso machine, expresso pods, a nifty device for boiling water, and a tasty assortment of chocolates with a message saying "Happy Anniversary!" Below the counter was not one, but two refrigerators (perfect for folks like us who like to purchase small grocery items - including champagne). The bedroom was a decent size with a mounted television (with the ability to access streaming services via Chromecast), snazzy Bluetooth speaker (I made good use of it!), a desk, and bed. I believe in saving the best for last...in my opinion...that would be the bathroom. The bathroom was complete with heated floors (unfortunately we did not get a chance to use them), a HUGE two person (depending on the size of said persons) sitting tub, and an open shower area with a shower head slightly extended from the ceiling (not ideal for folks that do not want to get their hair wet). Also, I forgot to mention that both the shower and hot tub have extensions. Since we were only at the hotel for three days and two nights, we did not have the time to utilize their many amenities. However, we were able to visit Apero, the bar located in the basement. We both ordered drinks from the cocktails menu, which we would later regret. Although flavorful, both drinks were loaded with so much ice that there was obviously little room for the drink itself. For both breakfast and dinner we enjoyed the convenience of room service. For breakfast we ordered the eggs, bacon, and wheat bread...which met our satisfaction's. For dinner we ordered the Chicken Ceasar salad with a side of fries with truffle mayonnaise...delicious! Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Ampersand Hotel. If you're looking for a hotel in which you can truly relax and enjoy the comfort and serenity of your room, I highly recommend staying here!

We were looking for something fun and different from a traditional afternoon tea, and this definitely leaned more interactive than expected. Arrival and First Impressions Reservations are important, and when we arrived the space was already filled with families. The setting feels polished but still very welcoming for kids, which is not always the case with afternoon tea in London. Service was excellent from the start, organized without feeling too formal, and the overall atmosphere had a fun, lively energy. The Highlights The experience is built around science themed trays filled with a mix of sweet and savory items. The kids immediately locked into the interactive elements, especially the build your own strawberry lemonade with different colored syrups, which turned into more of a mini experiment than just a drink. They also had cake pops, scones, and small PB and J sandwiches, all very approachable and fun. One of the better touches was a small take home item, a dinosaur themed tin, which the kids treated like a prize from the experience. It added to the overall feeling that this was designed with kids in mind. The adult trays had a similar variety with finger sandwiches, pastries, custards, and scones. Everything was solid and there was plenty to try. Being able to request more of anything you liked helped balance things out a bit and made it feel less restrictive for the price. The Challenges The biggest drawback is the cost. For a family of four it came out to around 350 USD, which is a significant spend for what is essentially afternoon tea. It leans more toward a themed experience than a traditional tea service, so if you are expecting something quiet and refined, this may not be the right fit. Final Thoughts This is one of those experiences that works really well if you go in with the right expectations. It is interactive, a little chaotic in a good way, and clearly designed for families more than traditional tea purists. We would not rush back and I removed a star due to the price, but we are glad we did it once because the kids genuinely loved it and still talk about it. If you are looking for something unique and are comfortable with the cost, it is worth it for the experience, though the value depends on how much you lean into the interactive side.

But for you, Yelp, I'll spill the reasons why you should stay here on your next visit to London... 1) The Location is awesome. You know the three rules of real-estate, right??? location, Location, LOCATION! Lime Tree (hence-forth, LT) is located in a very posh area of London. I saw McLarens and Rolls-Royces parked ON THE STREET where the hotel is located. Who parks a USD$200K+ car ON THE STREET?!? It is short walk to the Victoria Coach Station(s), Trains and Underground (Tube). There are plenty of pubs, restaurants, grocery stores and shops around. Our room overlooked the Peggy Porschen Bakery, which I kid you not, is Instagramed during all hours by "influencers". I only hope they get as much busy as they get featured in pics on the Internet! Also, down the street is Philip Treacy, Milner to Royalty! Again, LOCATION! 2) I would be remiss if I did not mention The Service at LT. There is an eight-hour shift rotation of lovely front desk people that check you in, collect your key when you leave (yes, there is a physical key to your room door and they ask that you leave it at the front desk everytime you leave). I am goingto butcher their name spellings (probably), but during our 8 night stay here, we came to know Simone, Martine, Maggy and Laura very well and all were charming, helpful and total professionals. My mother has stayed here several times before and was hoping to speak to the owner, Matt and Charlotte, but they were off on holiday, but I hear they are as hard-working and amiable as the Wondrous Women of the Front Desk (henceforth known as WWFD) 3) The Buttery - the SMALL breakfast/lunch restaurant in the LT (but you can't charge your meals to your room in the LT). The Word is out on on this place - there were just as many Locals eating here as there were guests at the hotel. RESERVATIONS are HIGHLY recommended (they are on OpenTable). I wrote a seperate review on The Buttery, so do a Yelp search and find that, but you honestly can't go wrong here. We ate 4 of the 8 days. TomTom across the street is also a one-location (at this time) gem and is packed after 9am. Early bird gets the good breakfast! Much love to the Lime Tree! I'll be back someday
