Black mold everywhere! Absolute worst hotel we have ever stayed in. A danger to your health staying here! When checking in, we were told we were upgraded. What a joke! I noticed reviews here saying to avoid the basement so when I heard Room 602, I thought "oh good, the 6th floor". Wrong! Rooms starting with "6" are all in the basement. Immediately upon entering the room, the most damp, rotten, and moist smell. Being in the basement, you can't open the single small window. We thought it was coming from the AC so we turned it off and heading out to sight see on our last day in the city. When we came back at around 10pm, the smell was even worse. We narrowed down the smell to originating from the bathroom. I thought it was coming from the drain but soon realized there was black mold growing on the tile grout, the wood on the door, and even the shelves on the wall. How can room service or management not see this? The bathroom fan was broken and probably has not been working in months, which is why so much mold has grown from the shower moisture. These rooms are never properly cleaned and it's shameful they've been neglected this long. It honestly smelled like a house which has been flooded with sewer water. The moldy smell gave us headaches and coughs. Now past 10PM, it wasn't worth us arguing to get another room so we decided we'd just check out at 5AM and just head to the airport early. The room itself was not great either. The bed was rock hard and the security safe did not work. Carpets were stained and artwork/mirrors had layers of dust on them. When checking out, we told the guy at the front desk how atrocious and unsafe the room was with the black mold and smell. He just said he would let management know. That's it! There wasn't a sincere apology or even an offer for partial reimbursement. I doubt him or management will do anything as there are many review with similar experiences here that I wish I had seen prior. He informed us our receipt would be emailed and didn't even say have a good day or anything. Sad! It's now, 2 days since checking out and I noticed 2 charges on my credit card statement from Hotel Indigo as if I stayed 2 nights there. I had to contact them to send my receipt again and finally received it. Now I'm waiting to get this second charge removed and getting over a cough from staying in the room. Do yourself a favor and do not stay here! For over $300 a night, there are many better options in London. Your health matters and this place should be shut down. Do not fall for the "you've been upgraded" junk. I look forward to hearing their canned response to my review here. read more

Stayed from 13-16 June. Location was good, close to the Tube Station. Room, amenities and cleanliness was good. Excellent Breakfast and staff experience. Big negative and one star review for lack of Air Conditioning. My room was 25°C the entire stay. Outside was identical temperature, so zero reprieve from the heat. They said my room faces the sun, and air is controlled centrally, so nothing they could do. I opened the windows in the evening, however, the cars racing down the High Street, made sleeping impossible until after 0130 in the morning. I averaged about four hours sleep per night, absolutely ruined my trip. Would not recommend this property. read more

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. The building is beautiful and our room was even better. The location was fantastic. We were so close to the Earl's Court tube station which made it super convenient and easy to get around. This part of town seemed very nice and we felt safe here. There was a Co-op supermarket and Boots pharmacy very close as well. There are lot of restaurants and our favorite PAUL Patisserie. The room was beautiful and spacious. We stayed in room number 114 and it had a lovely bay window and balcony. The bed was comfortable and the room was very clean. The bathroom had a very modern aesthetic but I hated that the shower enclosure was so small because every time you took a shower the entire floor was wet. The staff was polite and the rest of the hotel seemed very clean, as well. We ate at the restaurant for breakfast every morning and it was delicious. The croissants and pan au chocolate were so great. The service was a little slow here, but I think our standards for faster service in the USA may have been a little high. We used our IHG points are were thrilled that we were able to stay here for free! We would definitely stay here again. read more

If you like staying a bit on the outskirts of the hub-bub (which we do) in a lovely, posh, well appointed hotel with a cozy yet trendy nook for noshing or drinks - this is it! Warm, friendly staff... a wonderful breakfast...close enough to wander through neighborhoods OR the high streets, or simply hop on the tube or bus (depending on your prefered mode of travel) Love that treats and refreshments on offer in the mini bar/fridge in the room are complimentary, the size of the room (unlike most in our European travels, this one is quite large, considering) and really well put together. Random thought: love that this doesn't seem to be a "family holiday oriented" hotel - surely the staff would be gracious to all, but NOT having a screaming toddler at breakfast or in the next room @ 3 am happens to be a plus for us. read more

Visited in early Sept for 6 nights, was in a Queen with a rollaway facing the street. Location: Situated literally 100 steps from the Earl's Court station (District and Piccadilly Line). Across the street from a private park surrounded by very expensive homes. A stone's throw away from Earls Court Rd. and a M&S Foodhall. From a location perspective, without being in the heavy tourist areas of downtown London, very convenient. That being said, if you are facing street side, you still do hear a lot of street traffic from Earls Court Rd. (honking, sirens, the normal city traffic). You'll probably have a lot less noise if you have a room facing inward. Cleanliness: Generally clean. No noticeable odors or dirty areas. That being said, the main reason for the 4 stars is that the rooms need some TLC. While the styling is good, there are scuff marks on all the furniture. It's getting to the point of replacing some (if not most) for a hotel of this caliber. Additionally, the bathroom was kind of a mess. The grout in between the tiles on the floor was almost entirely missing (maybe 30% remained - no joke), which meant the tiles would sometimes move under your feet as you entered, exited the bathroom. Additionally, the bathroom door had mold and was frayying at the bottom (from too much exposure to water I would assume). Oh, yes, the shower spits out A LOT of water into the bathroom floor - really no way to get around this. They should think of installed sliding shower doors. Service: Front desk personnel were attentive if not always wrapped up in their phones. The service that really shined were the ladies and gentlemen in the breakfast area. I have to say that by morning 3, they didn't even ask us what we wanted, they just confirmed our order. They were always gracious and always remembers to give my 4 year old a coloring puzzle for the morning. As a traveling parent, interacting and remember my kid goes a LONG way. Facilities: Other than the breakfast area which turns into a open gathering spot where you can enjoy a few drinks, there's not many facilities in this hotel. Would have been nice if they converted one of the WCs on the first floor to be a small separate laundry room for those making longer stays (just a suggestion though). read more

Having not been back to London for many years, it was a bit intimidating to search for hotels. When I came across Hotel Indigo, the location, amenities, and price was just right up my alley. Earl Court station is right around the corner a block away from Indigo as well as restaurants, and food stores. You have all that you need. Situated on a quiet block, friendly and accommodating service is what you'll find at this hotel. Their morning breakfast is quality with nice selections of sliced meats, cereals, yogurts with toppings, pastries that include a gluten free option. This does not include the hot items they offer from their menu. They have one table on a tiny patio to enjoy your French press or cappuccino while watching people stroll by. Put this hotel on your radar- you won't be disappointed. I'll certainly stay there again! read more

My family and I stayed 4 nights in 2 rooms. Other than good breakfasts, but uneven service, and mini bars (which were not always restocked properly) included in our rate, it was really disappointing, considering the price, even with a good location. The hotel is quite old and has been renovated, but not very well and not enough. One room had nonfunctioning AC, which was fixed in 1 day, and a phone that never worked, in spite of notifiying management. The room had a visibly broken USB charging port. The other room had a gap in the floorboards (see photo) and loose tiles in the bathroom. The furnishings were cheap. The chair at my desk was really hard on my back. One of our beds was not comfortable. The bathroom products were minimal and the towels were scratchy. The staff were friendly, but jeans and sneakers don't look appropriate at the reception desk. Perhaps they don't get paid enough to dress better. I thought being an IHG franchisee involved certain standards, but I was wrong. read more

What's not to love about this excellent, stylish, friendly hotel? It's got a great relaxed vibe, friendly staff and sits in a great residential neighbourhood. We arrived on a flight to LCY, and a simple hop on the DLR, skip to the District line and, jump a few steps down Earls Court Road saw us arrive about 30mins after touchdown, we got checked in immediately at 9am, and enjoyed a lovely breakfast in the restaurant. Throughout the rest of our stay the team here where a delight, proactively offering late checkout they really take pride in what they do. It was great each day to return to such a quiet retreat and a simply great room. Compact, but wonderfully comfortable! Its really all in the details, from the tea selection, to the crisps and complimentary minibar, and wonderful Aveda products! read more

My husband and I stayed at Hotel Indigo while visiting London a few weeks ago. We had a great stay! First of all, the hotel is very modern, with chic furniture, a friendly staff, and plenty of amenities. Our room was on the 2nd floor, which typically could propose a problem. However, we really didn't have any issues with outside noise - neither on the street nor in the hallway. The hotel rooms are arranged in such a way to feel more private and tucked away, which makes it a little more quaint and cozy. Although the room was small (as most are in Europe), the bathroom was large with a walk in shower. We were able to listen to the TV while in the shower, which was interesting. They also have a heated mirror that keeps a portion of the mirror from fogging up. And, we loved having the complimentary mini-fridge filled with drinks and treats - including water, soda, lemonade, tea, chips, and a candy bar. Another plus for me - the well functioning hairdryer! (So many in Europe are crappy, low blowing dryers that do nothing but make me mad.) I also really loved the location - the Earl's Court/Kensington area is beautiful. We were able to walk to plenty of restaurants, museums (such as the Victoria & Albert Museum, Science Museum, and Natural History Museum), as well as Kensington Palace. Also, this location was quite a bit lower on price vs. other locations in London. Always a plus! My only negative was the bed. It was stiff as a board! A very firm mattress, indeed. But we were so tired from our activities each day that we slept just fine. read more

The AC was still not working but fortunately i was given a a fan and the weather was milder. I dont know why it takes more than 2 months to fix an AC system. The location was excellent, quite close to Earls Court. We were given 2 water bottles daily for most of the days. we didnt get small towels for the last few days. We had a queen bed but they put big furniture like desk and cabinet in a small room. you could not open one of the desk drawers because it was too close to the bed. the bathroom was okay, elevated. The price was okay for the location and staff was friendly otherwise. i didnt try the restaurant downstairs but seemed okay and fairly busy. They have a lift for 4 floors but not the 5th. I would probably try another hotel if i were to visit london again. read more

The Indigo's we've been to have always been located in amazing locations, and this one is no different. It's conveniently placed to be close to the metro and central to many attractions. The only compromise with Indigo's which we don't quite mind are that their rooms are always a little small. However, the rooms are very well designed to save space in just the right places. The staff was extremely helpful and polite, and the cafe at this Hotel Indigo served surprisingly extremely tasty food. Seems like they have a great chef in the back. I think the duck confit and lobster bisque was one of the best I've ever had. Everything was clean and modern feeling like always. Only complaint was that WiFi was spotty, and speed was medium fast at best. Although WiFi across our Europe trip seemed mediocre everywhere. read more

Not much negative to say about this very nice and cosy hotel. In fact, I can't really find anything negative about it so far. It's location is ideal, 100m from Earl's Court tube station and so quite central, though not in the hush hush of the city center. The staff is very young and friendly, they know their job pretty well and they are just right about it. Pricing is quite high, but it's what you should expect in any part of central London. In the rest of Europe, you would call this a 3 star hotel, but a very nice one :-) For it's location, it's trendy decoration, the quality of the bedding and the restaurant, I do give it a 4 star. For 200+ GBP in London, it is definitely worth it! read more

What sets this hotel apart is the amazing customer service! The hotel is in a very nice part (Barkston Gardens) of London and very conveniently located near the Earls Court Station (walking distance). If you take the Heathrow Express to Paddington and then take District Line (Wimbledon) to Earls Court, you do not need to take a taxi at all. Be sure to buy your Heathrow Express tickets and Oyster card prior to the journey. The Oyster card can also be purchases at Paddington station upon arrival. The hotel room we stayed in was nice with a modern design. We highly recommend booking this hotel if you plan on visiting London based on the location, proximity to Earls Court train station, and great customer service. read more

Stayed here for our honeymoon. Staff was incredibly friendly and helpful, even decorated our room. Service was outstanding. Room was beyond what we expected and location was great. After some of our long adventures we would come back at night and order some fresh made hummus and veggies with a bottle of wine and sit on the little balcony and enjoy the London atmosphere. If an opportunity takes us back to London we will take ourselves right back to this lovely place. read more

The friendliest and accommodating staff by far! The breakfast was great every morning. We had a small issue with our room after check in but it was remedied rather quickly, in fact when we returned they had muliple treats and 2 different notes of apology in our new room. They also offered dinner at no expense; however, we felt they had already gone above and beyond so their was no reason to take advantage of their offer. There are some amazing restaurants in the area and the location is great! I would highly recommend this hotel and hope to stay there again someday! read more

Fantastic, perfectly placed hotel in Earl's Court about a 1.5 minute walk from the tube. If flying into Heathrow, you can simply take the Piccadilly line and it drops you right off on Earl's Court Road. Don't bother with a taxi! Beautiful rooms. Yes, small, but well appointed. Modern amenities within a beautiful historical building. Adorable little extras like nice quality teas, shortbread and free waters and Fanta in the fridge. We enjoyed the breakfast just about every day but never had a chance to try dinner. Lovely pubs and restaurants in the area too, so no shortage of things to eat and drink! It's a nice place to be and rest after a long day of sightseeing! If you want a bath in your room be sure to ask for it as you may end up with a shower only. Wi-Fi included and works decently. When we come to London again, I am certain we will book here again. read more

This opened recently in place of the Barkston Garden Hotel. It's a boutique hotel, and is very modern and posh inside. They renovated the building and the decor is nice and the hotel is very clean. We arrived there and our rooms were ready, but we ran into a snag. The hotel advertises rooms with king-sized beds, as well as rooms with two double beds. We were under the impression that we reserved a room with a king-sized bed, and a room with two double beds. Apparently not. They had two rooms for us, each with a "king" sized bed. We had 5 people. In order to make it right, they got a manager, who informed us "We don't do double beds. We have one room with those and it's taken by a club member." We asked if there was a roll-a-way mattress or a cot that could be brought into one of the rooms and were almost laughed at. She offered us another room with a "king" sized bed for a rate a lot higher than we paid for the others. She said "and it can include breakfast." What she didn't mention is that it cost extra to add breakfast and we had a surprise fee on our bill. The guy at the front desk then informed us that the room we added had a garden attached. Which sounded lovely. We got to the rooms and realized why they didn't want another person staying in it. They were quite small, but it is London, after all, so I guess not that bad. The garden? First of all, you couldn't enter it. Second, and more importantly, it was a small section of bright green astro-turf with a single potted plant in the middle. The beds were not even remotely king-sized. Each room had a single double bed. None of the rooms were as advertised. They were very clean and well decorated, though. Once we got over all that, we had a pretty good stay. The hotel seemed very empty. It seemed like we were the only ones staying there, or there were very few other guests. All of the other staff members were very nice, friendly, and helpful. We actually enjoyed conversations with the bartenders (especially because no one else was in the bar). The drinks were very good, but overpriced. We had only one meal there, breakfast (only free for one of us). It was overpriced, but it was one of the best breakfasts we had while in London. We also realized after about a day that the WiFi was horrible. As far as proximity to the touristy sites in London, it wasn't near most of them. However, the hotel was in a safe area and about a two minute walk from the Earl's Court tube station. This is actually preferable because we could get anywhere in London with minimal effort. It was a generally good experience. I'd recommend the hotel, just make sure you only plan on only keeping 2 people in a room, and plan on not using WiFi during your stay (or deal with very slow speeds when it is working). read more

Like the other hotels in the Indigo chain, this hotel doesn't disappoint. Handy for the tube, reasonably-sized rooms that are quirkily decorated and lovely bathrooms. The beds are fabulously comfy and the rooms immaculate. As a newly refurbished building throughout, the hotel has done a great job at exploiting its environment with some lovely touches in terms of fixtures and fittings. The staff are a delight! First they have great staff and concierge. Hotel is in a cosy neighborhood, lots of character. Nice pubs and international food really close by. The troubadour is just down the street. They upgraded my room, great view of the park, unique decor. And free minibar ! I was there about a week. Had the full breakfast option. Best breakfast in the world. All types of strange people were staying there. You can people watch in the lobby all day. Short jump to the tubes. And there were free concerts in the parks all around. Lovely casual Italian restaurant in hotel. Breakfast in hotel worth it , both the buffet and the hot breakfast choices . Many newspapers to read . So worth the English perspective. The International version of NYT available. Very accommodating . We had an issue with a leak from light in shower ceiling. It was taken care of immediately . We were switched to another room , got another drink matching the one I had at the bar by the restaurant , and a coupon for a drink for my husband , as well as extra points for the inconvenience of moving rooms. The tube or underground is about a block away. Very happy here . Great locale to explore the city via tube . Heathrow via Black cab about 70 GBP , so far in distance , but worth it with a lot of luggage . All staff helpful and friendly . Room is great , clean well decorated . Can't wait to come back . My husband and I stayed a week during Thanksgiving for our anniversary last Falll 2016. This hotel was perfect for us. Near the tube. Nice restaurant inside. Quiet, clean and comfortable.
