Walking up to our chosen proposal spot, I was initially worried because someone was sitting near where I was going to propose and would be in the shot. Turns out, it was Deeba making sure nobody else got in the area for the perfect proposal. He was so clandestine my fiancee had no idea anything was about to happen until I was on one knee. She was so surprised she never took off her glasses during the actual proposal and he noticed and right after we were done kissing had us quickly re-enact the moment without glasses or her purse. The shot speaks for itself. Would highly, highly recommend for anything important you want to capture in the most beautiful way possible.

I have gotten so many compliments on our wedding photos and I love looking at them. It was important to my husband and I to not see each other before the wedding. We met with a few photographers and they told us our timeline and style of photos that we wanted would not work. Deeba listened to us, learned all the family dynamics, and not only accommodated what we wanted (more formal portraits and less cheesy kisses on the forehead), but he fit everything with enough time to spare that we could go to our cocktail hour! At the reception I literally did not know he was there unless guests were dragging me to get a photo taken (Sorry Deeba!). He blended in, and made everyone feel comfortable. If you want a true photo documentary of your big day, chose Deeba. You won't regret it.

Hiring a photographer was one of the most time-intensive and somewhat stressful vendor research we…read moredid for our wedding as we were very choosy about who would do this big job for us- possibly the most important one- with photos that last a lifetime and beyond. After lots of emails with different vendors, we came across Winnie and knew she was the one. We are SO glad we chose her for our very special wedding shots. Winnie is multitalented in her wedding photography- she is extremely organized and timely, straightforward and to the point, sweet and humble, and most importantly, will without a doubt deliver the AMAZING SHOTS! Our wedding morning was a little stressful as we were down a hair artist (one called out sick and our lackluster company did not send a replacement artist) and we were also dealing with unpredictable weather with small spouts of thunderstorms rolling through with potential to wreak havoc on our gorgeous garden venue. Because Winnie had built in lots of buffer time into the timeline as she knows things always happen/take longer than expected, she was able to keep us right. on. schedule. throughout the whole day. I can't imagine what could have happened if we hadn't had an extremely organized photographer to bear with all of the craziness and still get all of the shots that we wanted. Winnie didn't miss a beat- she worked between the short passing storms to get everything we wanted in all of the outdoor spots we wanted and she kept a calm demeanor throughout. I can tell what a master she is in her work with the lighting she kept chasing and directing her team so gracefully throughout the day. She even shuttled us around the venue grounds in air conditioning to avoid the wet grounds after the rain as well as the oppressive humidity. Winnie is the kind of artful photographer that bends her creativity and works flexibly with whatever variables she is given to not only get the job done right, but get it done MASTERFULLY. Putting your trust in her is the best thing you can do- all she needs you to do is pose and smile where and how she tells you to. She was also amazing in directing our friends and family in what to do in the photos as they were hot messes in the humidity and excitement of the day! When we opened our sneak peeks the morning after (!!!), we teared up and kept borderline-screaming about how incredible our photos came out. I am not exaggerating when I say many looked like we could be on the front of a bridal magazine. Winnie combined perfect lighting, gorgeous backdrops, artful framing, and intentional directing of us to create the most stunning photos of us that we will cherish forever. We are beyond thrilled with how ALL of our photos turned out and can't wait to frame many of them. We have already gotten sooooo many compliments from family and friends about how incredible our photos are. Winnie, we can't thank you enough for giving us even MORE than we expected on what could have been a very stressful day! You made our dreams come true. HIRE WINNIE!!!

Her passion for photography is clear from the moment she begins. From the very first inquiry and throughout the whole planning process, she was prompt with answering emails. She made us feel at ease the entire time and truly captured the most amazing shots. I highly recommend her!

The contract for video and other services was fulfilled - they were downside to a crucial part of a special day. HE FIGHTS WITH HIS WIFE - We met with this small minority owned business and contracted for photos and full video services. They arrived to shoot the bride in the bridal suite during hair make-up time. Bridesmaids laid out jewelry and shoes, etc to be photographed. It looked lovely. His wife added touches and prepared to shoot with her camera when he came over and told her she had it all wrong. He changed it for the worse and they began to argue about this and other things until one bridesmaid said, "Are you all married? Did you have a fight in the car on your way here or something? Please take you negative energy out of here and argue outside. This is a happy positive space." They went outside the suite to finish their fight. Awful! MESSY EXECUTIOJN - They showed up to the ceremony with three people (to photogs and 1 video person) and right before the ceremony began they put their stuff, hung jackets and camera cases and trunks right in the way on the aisle as the bride walks down. Thus their junk was IN the photographs. Who would do that among thousands in ceremony florals? Ruin the scene last minute? HE IS THE STREAMING FOCUS - We paid for live streaming for west coast family, What our video guests saw was the back of the photographer blocking the bride and groom for most of the ceremony - also blocking the guests. No situational awareness. The amusing galling part was him turning and looking at HIMSELF into the streaming camera so often to ensure it was capturing HIM! We watched it after. Awful! DISTRACTING AND DISRUPTIVE - The videographer in a baseball cap slid around on the floor behind the reverend looking up at the bride and groom from the altar floor -- super distracting during taking the solemn vows. We were thinking - this video better be good. NO VIDEO POOR ALTERNATIVE - After all that We got three 2 minutes montages of our wedding. They basically moving photographs set to odd up tempo honky tonk music we did not choose. They were not even in chronological order - one begins with teens dancing wildly and then goes right into the ring exchange, We asked for a re-edit, with real video, in order with proper music. Got Nothing. NO VIDEO - Despite the guy shooting from the floor of the altar, we NEVER got a full video of the wedding or reception we paid for. We called the photographer for weeks after asking for the video as we saw the videographer (he is in other shots taken by family). When they called back - he said "Sorry, we were on a cruise and there is no video. What we sent you is it." The grooms brothers wanted to see their toasts again after the wedding, we did too, But we got nothing from ACB. We managed to get videos from family friends which shows they clearly had a videographer present. It was in our contract as well. The only video we have is a copy of the live stream with him as the star. No toasts, no words. Memories lost. He must have had a dispute with his video guy and ultimately could not deliver. Our money was clearly spent on his cruise a month later. Who has time to take him to court? I took the photos - which we got on thumb drive - and went to Shutterfly and built a beautiful luxury album cropping his junk from the ceremony shots etc. for half of his post wedding price offered. I did not trust him with final images as he did not deliver on out contract. High. High. High regret. Don't do it. Find someone else.

We're very happy with our 1000+ pictures from the event. Working with Roman was also a pleasure. He promptly answered all of our questions and worked with us to quickly resolve the issue when we had trouble accessing the pictures at the end. We are definitely glad we went with Roman Grinev and we would recommend them to other couples.

My husband and I got married on 7/22/18. We chose Roman Grinev Photography based on the positive…read morereviews they received on Weddingwire and other sites. However, our wedding day experience with Dawn, the photographer that we chose since Roman wasn't available, led to multiple concerns with her poor communication style, inflexibility in working with us, and mostly with her failure to deliver 2 out of the 8.5 contracted service hours. On our wedding day, we wanted pictures of our wedding party taken at the Lincoln Memorial and DC War Memorial. Initially we emailed Roman about our intent and invited him to ride with us in our limo so our trip there would be captured and also because we knew that parking in downtown DC is difficult. We'd have the limo driver drop us off at our locations and pick us up when we were done with pictures. When he reminded us that Dawn was our photographer, we extended the same invite to her during our initial phone conversation. On our wedding day, we repeated our offer, however she declined, saying she would drive separately. Once we got there Dawn told us that she couldn't find parking, didn't want to double park and get a ticket, and therefore wouldn't take pictures of us. This was incredibly frustrating since it could've been easily avoided if she had simply accepted our offer to ride in the limo. We were very disappointed but tried to patiently resolve this directly with Roman over the past 2 months. After we shared our concerns with him, he offered us a free hour session with Dawn. We respectfully declined because of the extra money we'd have to pay for another National Mall photo permit, my makeup and hair, and tuxedo rental for my husband. More importantly, we wouldn't have our entire wedding party there; one of my bridesmaid is from Belgium and my mother is traveling abroad. We then requested a refund of $652 for the missing 2 hours and the photography permit that was never used. Roman gave a counteroffer for an album which he said was valued at $600. Again, we respectfully declined because we already received multiple albums from friends as wedding gifts. At this point, Roman refused to give us a refund and furthermore rescinded his offer for the album and the photo session. He also falsely accused us of not having room in the limo (it was a 14-person limo; specifically the passenger seat was available for Dawn), that I told Dawn to take her own car (completely untrue), and that I said it "wasn't a big deal" that there were no professional pictures taken. We are extremely disappointed that we weren't able to resolve this situation with Roman directly. We are further disheartened that the conversation devolved into a she said/ she said argument with false information. We spent an entire year thoughtfully planning the details for our wedding day and wouldn't just throw it away with such a cavalier statement as it's not "a big deal." This was our wedding day so of course we wanted to capture our moment with all our cherished family and friends together with a professional photographer. Many of the professional pictures taken did turn out well, so we are saddened that not only will we not have professional pictures of our wedding party at the National Mall but that Roman refused to refund us for the lost time. The fact of the matter is that Roman Grinev Photography didn't provide their contractual services and therefore should have given us a refund per their "failure to perform clause" in the contract we signed.
