However, they fail to inform you about your payment options when making an appointment so consider taking cash because they ONLY accept cash payments. I tried on the website to make an appt for REGISTRO CIVIL and that option didn't show up anywhere so I ultimately chose Pasaporte, Matrícula Consular, e INE vía whatsapp (which also didn't have the option). I showed up early to my appointment and explained to the man that their website/whatsapp chat doesn't give the option to select Registro Civil and he rudely told me I shouldn't have selected pasaporte because I'm taking that opportunity away from someone else even though when I booked the appointment there were soooooo many times and days to choose from. He highlighted the paper that says to make an appointment on their website and I said again that their website doesn't let you select Registro Civil. I ended up having to call and the person told me I need to go to Los Angeles consulate because Santa Ana doesn't have anything or doesn't do it? Idk don't go here. They're miserable. read more

Whats the point of appointment system if you can enter the building before those that do ?? I had an appointment for 8am and was at the consulate at 7:45. All the employees didn't arrive until close to 8am. Some maybe entered the building at 7:55. Keep in mind my appointment is for 8am... The building finally opens their doors at 8:07. I ask the security guard where is the line for those that have appointments and she doesn't answer my question. I ask again and she says there's a single file line for everyone. So basically those without appointments that stood in line before were taken care of before me. Even though I had an appointment. I asked those in line if they had appointments and they said no so I assumed I was the first with an appointment to make it to the consulate. Which in my head made sense because I would be the earliest appointment at 8am (the time they open). I didn't leave the building for another 4 hours... Why did I spend all that time trying to find an available appointment date and time if there was no reason to?? Hace unos dias fui a renovar mi pasaporte mexicano y tuve una excelente experiencia, desde la señora de seguridad en la puerta, hasta la muchacha que me atendio en la ventanilla, todos fueron muy amables y atentos. Our experience was very good (my son and mine). It was consulado sobre ruedas en Savanna High School in Anaheim. It was for a passport renovation, my son didn't need his birth certificate but only cash is accepted. We knew it was going to take a long time so we went with that in mind and we were there from 9:50am- 12:00pm but everything went smoothly and the personnel were great. Alexandra was very nice helping my son and there was another lady with a pink jacket that I didn't get her name and she was so funny and kept all of us in line laughing. Hello everyone, that is interested in my post . A day ago I went to get my Mexican passport and well it only took about 4hours and a 30 minutes. Good thing about is , I actually got my passport the same day . Only thing that got me was "Cash only" And the Google maps info says that it takes credit cards . Not true !! It's CASH ONLY. I am fuming. Ok so it's abysmal to get an appointment to go to the one in Los Angeles. And if you are lucky to get one to the Santa Ana Location, and if you arrive 30 minutes before your appointment, you still have to wait an additional 4 hours before you are told that they cannot serve you as you are from LA County, not Orange County. This is a million times worse than the DMV. Thats saying a lot considering at least the DMV is ok with you being on your phone. God forbid you answer a phone call and the security guard gets mad. So to re-cap, if you need to get some service done and if you are from LA county, you have to make sure your appointment is for LA county only. That is if you are even lucky to get one there. Which means you have to keep checking online or calling every single day and pray that someday you'll get an appointment to spend the entire day at the Mexican Counsulate. At this point, I think I have a better chance of winning the lottery than getting an appointment at the Mexican Counsulate. They also need to have a Mexican taqueria or a panaderia to compensate for those spending their entire day waiting to be seen. So they make it almost impossible to make an appointment. If you don't know someone who works there it's not hard to make an appointment however that's really unfair to those who don't know anyone. This location specifically only does appointment openings through either call or WhatsApp. Even on calls they won't pick up at all though. You can't just line up early without having an appointment anymore (which is what I did). They don't allow phones inside, you have to step out for calls or anything like that. read more

I had urgency for power of attorneys because my Mexican attorney in San Miguel de Allende totally ripped me off. New attorneys needed revocation of POA's and new POA's. I went to renew my expired passport. Appt was at 8:30 and I left passport in hand by 11:45. I live closer to the San Diego consulate but I need it fast for traveling so I went online to book an appt. Deep breaths and lots of patience because the online sucks but it's possible. It showed the next appt was in Santa Ana so I snagged it and made my way up there 6 days later. I got a hotel the night before to be ultra safe. My experience was similar to San Diego. Arrive at least 30 mins prior and make sure you are in the correct spot, ask people what time their appt is so you are in the correct area. Bring your documents. Lots of folks didn't bring items were frustrated. I brought my file of important documents to be safe. I needed my passport, my green card, my marriage certificate (I got married since the previous one), my drivers license, and cash for it. They did give me change. Be kind and listen to the rules. Don't use your cell phone as they aren't allowed or any electronics. If you can leave kids at home do so bc they will be bored, felt bad for the ones there. No food or drink allowed, you can step out and eat or get cash after they process your stuff but it goes super fast at that point so not worth it. There is a restroom. Overall I'm happy I got in and out with my passport. read more

Hoy tuve mi cita para renovar mi pasaporte. Mi cita era a las 9:15am y llegue a las 8:45am. Una vez que entras te a tienden conforme tú llegada y tú hora de cita no significa nada desde ese momento. Estuve esperando solo la renovación de mi pasaporte desde las 8:45am hasta las 3:30pm que me lo entregaron. Un proceso que no debería tomar más de una o dos horas debido a que todos los que llegamos teníamos cita se convirtió en una diligencia de todo el día RIDICULO! Les puedo asegurar que el 80% de la gente estaba realmente molesta y lo que le sigue y con justa razón. Todos teníamos hambre y algunos hasta dolor de cabeza. Y una vez más se comprueba y sale a relucir el excelente servicio que ofrecen las instituciones mexicanas en el exterior, claro para que no se nos olvide como es en nuestros países. PÉSIMO SERVICIO PARA TODO EL PERSONAL QUE TRABAJA EN ESTE LUGAR. If I could give this place negative stars I would. Staff is very rude, impatient, & unhelpful. Be prepared to wait for HOURS even though you have an appointment. Security guard will not let you use your phone inside the building. If you do, you must leave the building and be security checked in all over again to come back inside. Parking is also TERRIBLE. 5 horas para obtener mi pasaporte... no importa a qué hora es tu cita porque te hacen hacer línea sin importar la hora de cita. Había un empleado de unos 25 años y fue súper grosero con las personas, muy maleducado el niño. No te dejan usar el teléfono, uso de cubrebocas es obligatorio. No tiene sentido nada de lo que hacen aquí! Después de 5 horas cuando quedábamos unas 15 personas uno de los empleados empezó a tomarse fotos dando el pasaporte al cliente y tomando fotos a las personas que quedaban y diciéndoles que actúen felices para la foto. ¡Qué pésima experiencia he tenido en el Consulado de México en Santa Ana! El personal es extremadamente grosero y solo aceptan efectivo, lo que es muy sospechoso. I went in last Tuesday to renew my passport. I had my appointment set for 9:30am. I arrived at 8am to make sure I got a parking spot. Unfortunately the parking lot was already full. I had to park my car 2 blocks down in a public parking structure 18$ for the full day. I cannot emphasize how important it is to have all the required documentation before coming to your appointment. Also they only take cash so bring cash to pay for the services. Once you arrived people are arranged by chronological order of their appointment. Once they call your appointment time your group will go inside the building and get checked by security. Then you'll stand in line to get your documents reviewed . There's only one employee doing this and waiting in this line will take some time. Once the employee reviews your documents she will tell you where to go. There's an arrangement of chairs and you will be served in the same order as you came in. As one person is called you will move up to the next seat and so on and so forth. Unfortunately this process will most likely take most of your day. I arrived at 8am and did not leave until 2pm. They do not allow the use of phones but I did listen to music on my AirPods and texted through my Apple Watch to pass the time. Your patience will be tested but it will be worth it in the end. Horrible! I called to make an appt for my dad and there were several issues. 1. I honestly was not able to understand what the man giving the automated options was trying to say in English and I hate to say this, but perhaps they should have someone else who is fluent in English provide the options. 2. Someone finally took my call and he sounded like he was a million miles away plus an echo and I kept asking him to repeat himself and I guess he got annoyed and put me on hold to transfers me to someone else. 3. During those 19 minutes that I was on hold waiting and waiting I decided to try and make an appt online hoping it'd be a lot quicker. Online: Horrible!
