When we arrived, the gentleman at the front desk was very friendly, but unfortunately our room was not ready until 5:20pm even though check-in was supposed to be at 4pm. After traveling all day, all you want to do is get into your room, freshen up, and relax, so waiting in the lobby for almost an hour and a half was frustrating. Thankfully, the complimentary happy hour helped make the wait more tolerable with free drinks, veggies, crackers and cheese, and fruit. Our king room was nice and had a great view of the convention center along with a partial water view. The hotel restaurant was also very convenient and the food was delicious. Another downside was the lunch rush during the conference. The hotel knew there were around 2,500 attendees at a convention there and about 400 of them were staying there, but it definitely seemed understaffed for the demand. The complimentary breakfast was one of the highlights. They had a really good spread including an omelette station, breakfast meats, pastries, breads, cereal, homemade waffles, fruit, juices, soda, coffee, and hot cocoa. Overall, it was a good stay with a great location and amenities, but I have to take away one star because the room wasn't ready anywhere near the promised check-in time.

I was in the 11th floor and felt like I was right next to the lobby and bar. So loud! It did not help that there was about 10,000 high school kids in for a convention, and they all seemed to like to meet in hallways! lol The rooms are suites, though. So the bedroom was pretty quiet. I had to pay a new fee at check in that I found surprising. $30 a day resort fee, but I was told that included free breakfast and happy hour... Free? Pretty sure you just charged me $30 a day for breakfast and happy hour! But like I said, overall a nice stay.

The staff was amazing the hotel was so nice. The food was good. Fantastic breakfast The bartenders were so friendly. Even at one point the manager brought us out a round of shots. It was a convention going on as well and they still managed to handle all of the traffic here. Parking is pay by text. They also have electro charging stations which was super helpful. If I return this is my pick. Pool area is good and spacious also. It's just a few blocks from Busch gardens maybe 2 mins in the car it seemed like.

It's not completely complimentary and is separate from the lounge. Depending on the draft beer you chose, which 2 were offered, there was an upcharge for the beer or select liquors. And it changed nightly. I think they're working on this. It was more confusing than convenient, but still worth it at the end of the day. The bartender was UNBELIEVABLE! Josie ROCKS! Having worked in the industry, I was shocked how well she handled so many guests. Many travelers, many locals, and occasional college age kids. I would say this is a well loved, mature gathering place for all, and she was the only one working the bar and lounge. She served easily 30+ people at peak hours, including food, birthday cakes for special occasions, what have you, and there wasn't an empty drink in front of anyone. I can't say enough about how impressed I was. I hope they take very good care of her, because she is a HUGE asset to this property. Bring long sleeves! The hotel overall is cold. It feels great if it's hot outside for a bit, but people weren't running around in shorts on average. The rooms were cold. And, you can't turn on heat. The 80° setting in our room still had me slipping on a hoodie or something to keep the chill off. Many guests mentioned that they were cold. Outside temps were average, Hi 80's Lo 60's. I'm in my early 50's, if that helps. I wanted pants and sleeves in and out of the room, when hanging out. The rooms are older, plugs are loose from use, and a few didn't work. Bathrooms are older, rust in areas, but overall clean. T V 's are huge and extremely complicated to use. I even brought my own son, who is techy, and it was ridiculous. You have to sign in to every streaming device with your own logins/passwords. It was sooooo frustrating. We tried so many times to watch this movie or that, would finally get to "watch now," after paying on our own login, and it wouldn't play. You can't cast, and the live t.v. was very limited. So, we had more quality time. Turn lemons into lemonade :D Shuttles were great!! Leroy was great! Pick up times were respected, with complete understanding that traffic can affect promptness. Not the shuttles fault! The daily snacks package provides strictly junk food. Chips, soda, and chocolate. 2 of each. They were kind enough to switch out the diet for regular soda, or water at the front desk. I guess I was expecting a little variety. Maybe some Goldfish or a granola bar, I don't know. I wouldn't pay for that again. We would definitely stay again. Cool environment overall...you see what I did there? ;) Truly, it's quite beautiful. Tips are greatly appreciated by all that serve you! Keeps great staff around for your next visit!

We found the room at the Marriott to be spacious, and the bathrooms similar to the JW. We found that compared to JW, the Marriott lobby was bigger, with more lounging and work station areas but also more people and noisy/lively. It has an outdoor restaurant overlooking the river, as well as a high end Mexican restaurant LONA (which I highly recommend) which provided great food and an escape from the crowds when you sit at their bar/lounge area. The outdoor restaurant/bar also had live entertainment during happy hour. What I particularly like about these 2 properties is that you can enjoy the amenities of both location by just walking accross the street via the skybridge. We went to Driftlight Steakhouse at JW in the morning for breakfast and had the buffet. The food was wonderful, service even better. We found check in to be very easy, especially since there was a dedicated reservation desk for Marriott Platinum Elite and such. It was good to have since the day we were there there was a conference/event happening that weekend. The only disappointment is the Perk Coffee and Provisions shop near the reception area, which was WAY overpriced and service slow and unfriendly. For most of their items on the shelves there was NO price. You had to ask what the price for each of the items, ranging from water to the alcohol. In summary, a very good stay at the Tampa Marriott Water street. Good alternative to JW based on the price. Also, in the future would book a balcony room with water views.

The desserts at the Constant Grind were delicious. Every time I visit, I wonder what new deserts they have at Constant Grind. During Christmas and Fourth of the July, there were beautiful decorations. There were singers singing while playing the guitar at the casino floor. However, be aware, the casino floor smells smoke a lot. If you are uncomfortable with that, I suggest you to go to the non-smoking area. The gym was very nice, with many different types of exercise machines and weights. The rooms were clean. However, the room I was at, water would go through under the shower curtains and the bathroom floors would be all wet. I'd have to put many towels on the floor so it'd soak up the water. Overall, it is a wonderful casino. I love Tampa. I made beautiful memories there.

I wanted to leave 5 stars... But couldn't I want to start by recognizing the phenomenal staff members who made a positive impact. Brendan at the front desk provided a wonderful check-in experience. Randy in the Mainstays Tavern took VIP-like care of us every time we visited, as did Lexi during our dinner. Jordan out folding all the pool towels. David maybe giving rides via golf cart to beach - very nice and appreciated. I also want to thank staff for the thoughtful birthday note and the "sun and fun" package waiting in our room. Additionally, Debra was incredibly kind when we stopped in for breakfast!! However, I found the digital portal communication to be less than desirable. I had to report a smoking violation at least four times. I also reported guests using the hot tub after hours due to the noise while I was trying to get my family to bed. While I did speak with the front desk night manager, who was apologetic regarding these repeated nuisances, I left feeling that my value as a loyal guest was not fully recognized. I appreciate the high level of service provided by your hospitality team and hope this feedback helps improve the response consistency for future stays. There was just too many things that left us disappointed on our first trip here. There are 2 EV charging spots which was a lifesaver this trip and being a trolley stop was absolutely amazing for getting over the bridge into Clearwater Beach stress free. We saw pictures of a tennis and pickleball court online but those have been demolished and replaced by a grassy area :(. Thankfully sand bay tennis park is less than a mile away and the trolley does stop there. 3 volleyball courts which were great and sunsets 10/10! The Easter Egg hunt was a fun and unexpected treat for the kids :) well organized. I checked in early on the app, knowing it was a holiday weekend and there may not be rooms available early. We were able to pick up wristbands right away but we later found out these were not watched or enforced anywhere. In fact, you do not even need a key to enter the building from the pool/beach. I believe this added to the insane crowding at the pool. Could not find a pool chair at ALL - very stressful and had to set our belongings on the ground in order to swim. They could not keep up with the towels either and by 3-4PM, you could not get one at all. The pool bar had short hours and the line was insanely long every day. The pool bar shared the same line as ordering the food truck food which added to that chaos as well. On Friday the food truck shut down early as well. There was one water dispenser in the lobby but it was always empty. I felt like a bother asking the mainstay tavern for water. The food there was very good and we ordered to go. The gym was amazing 10/10. The beds were AWFUL 0/10 they are on a platform with absolute no give at all - ROCK hard!!! Had to walk across the street to the other Marriott location to get espresso coffee. The extra charges are too much - says $30/night to park but after taxes and fees it is $35 a night and $25 a night for the resort fee which doesn't cover anything but bikes as the trolley is already free. It is $45 to rent 2 chairs and an umbrella at the beach. The resort fee should offset this cost!!!!! The location is amazing but these extra charges are just too much and our stay left a lot to be desired. I also had a fraud charge immediately following paying for parking even though I used the QR code at the front desk and have not used that credit card for any other purchases - I wish this was charged directly through the hotel instead. It is not gated.
