Absolutely terrible customer service. I went to get a few suits tailored but they would completely disregard my requests. The tailor refused to take in the waist of my dress pants. They're literally an inch too big around my waist. That's not how dress pants are supposed to fit. The same thing happened with the sleeves of the my suit jacket. They fit too long and look sloppy. They did some minor alterations but I now have a suit that still doesn't fit my body and does not have the tailored look the way it's supposed to. A complete waste of time and money. They do a fine job at the actual tailoring work, but their refusal to do what I requested suggests a high level of laziness & absolute disregard of the customer's needs. The lady also seemed very passive-aggressive in her tone. You would think people who tailor clothes for a living would know the importance of how clothes should properly fit. I have been using these dolks dor 3 years now. Today I complained about what they were charging me for dropping a hem on 4 pair of pants. Within moments the owners daughter become aggressive, instead of discussing the price with me. I informed her it was several dollars cheaper just down the street her answer, and I quote, "You are welcome to go there" So you can only imagine what I will have to do with that kind of customer service. In a matter of 5 minutes they lost a dedicated (weekly) customer. shameful behavior when a few dollars is more important than working with a customer. read more

I've used this place for many years, I just don't take stuff very often so it hadn't occurred to me to mention my experiences here. The people here have always been very nice and done great work. I've had clothes hemmed and have needed dry cleaning on occasion and recently, during COVID-19, I went to drop off some things and loved that they had the door open. It made me feel much safer than every other place I go since there was open airflow. That was not something I ever thought about since the pandemic started but I totally appreciated it and felt much cleaner when I left than I ever feel when leaving the grocery store! Of course they and I wore masks as well but it was just an extra touch of individuality that you can find in a great small business. I don't have a clue how their prices are compared to other cleaners since I don't go to any other cleaners but their quality of work is high and the prices have always seemed reasonable. One time I needed a leather bag stitched up and they couldn't do it but they recommended a place in Somerville for that and that worked out very well too. They are always very friendly when I come in even though I'm clearly not giving them much business and that just speaks to the quality of their character to me. read more

I have been going here since forever. They have been super consistent on tailoring needs and super fast for dry cleaning. The amazing part is the owner. There have been times where she has seen me driving into the parking lot and has gotten my clothes together before entering the store. Yes, it might be true that I have gone here for a long time -- but it is even more true that my needs have been few. On my Yelp profile it says Find Me In "comfortable clothing" -- with this being the case I do not consider myself a regular customer even though this is the only dry cleaner I use. Came back 3 weeks ago for last minute alterations and boy did they deliver! I needed a silky Chinese dress taken in within a day. Arrived early morning and they quickly pinned the dress EXACTLY how I wanted. I believe it was the owner I was working with and she was very confident and understanding of how the dress should fit my body. As promised, I picked up the dress the next day at 3PM and it fit like a glove! I've given them two tries now and they've delivered on both accounts. Highly recommend them for alterations! read more

I needed a last minute alteration (within one week) for a bridesmaid dress. I dropped it off on a Friday, came back on Saturday for a check in, and picked up the finalized dress on Wednesday. I would give these guys 0 stars if I could. I bought a dress for engagement party that needed to be altered. She didn't even consider the shoes into alterations and it was cut way too short. The dress was 1.5 inches off the ground without ANY shoes. When I came back with the dress, she accused me of washing the dress because it was wrinkled on the bottom from the dress being in the bag. Because washing the dress apparently only shrinks it by length, which is a complete bullshit answer. She said she will try to make it longer. Came back again, and it seem like nothing was done except more beads and strings were popping off. What really pissed me off was she didn't apologize, accused me of washing the dress, and didn't reimburse me the money for the horrible job she did. She even threatened to charge me more for the "extra" work that was done to lengthen it. I ended up buying another dress. Please please find another place to alter your dress. The dress for me was $250 + $88 for the horrible alterations she did. And on top of that to buy another dress really added up. read more

Went here last year to get my bridemaid's dress altered for my sister's wedding. Truly a mom and pop shop. Very friendly. The price was 20% lower than other places I have had dresses altered (cut shorter since I'm Asian. So, you get the point :) Service was super fast (2 days on alteration) and the dress came out great. She even iron it for free since I had some winkle on them during shipping. Would definitely go back and also recommend to other people. read more

This place is a sweet little mom and pop shop. I got 3 pants here tailored (hemmed and tapered) and the old lady who measured it for me spoke very little English and at first I was a little hesitant she knew what I wanted, but after picking up and trying on the new pants, I am extremely satisfied! Not only did she do an AMAZING job, but she also ironed my pants for free. Also, I went to pick up the pants on Labor Day, when the shop was closed, but they opened up the shop just so I could pick up the pants - super nice. Will come back here again. read more

Staff very friendly and accommodating, however the alterations on my dress were very poorly done. It was taken in at the sides, stitching was uneven and didn't look like it was done by someone experienced in alterations... Or like it was rushed. When I put the dress on it bulges at the sides because of the uneven stitching. The cost was around $90 for taking in and shortening. I don't think it was worth that cost considering the workmanship I received. I won't be back. read more

Very glad that Yelp brought me here. I'm short so I have to get most of my jeans hemmed, and I prefer a tapered look so they always help out with that. Went to Continental Cleaners to have pants tailored, on the recommendation of a friend. Great choice! I was in and out within 15 minutes, the tailor being very quick. I dropped off on a Saturday, and was promised the pants Thursday - they were ready on time, done well, and fit perfectly. It's a little bit of a drive from my house, but because of the speed and quality, well worth it! read more

I came to Continental initially because my fiancé used them for dry-cleaning, and they were very reasonably priced. My opinion of them changed for the better however, when I went shopping for a last minute dress in which I was going to wear to elope. I bought the dress in Somerville, where the dress shop owner promised me her seamstress in Metuchen would be able to make the alterations quickly for my last-minute wedding which was three weeks away. I bought the dress, went to Metuchen the next day, only to receive a rude and curt answer of "There is no way that I can take up that dress with this deadline" which was accompanied by a a snotty look and a dismissive attitude. I promptly left the shop, alarmed that there was no way to fix my dress within the time frame. As a last resort I went to Continental to see if there was anything that they could do (especially since the tailoring I had done there was excellent in the past.) The family-operated staff at Continental was so sweet and understanding my situation, which immediately calmed my nerves. I was assured after my measurements, that they could easily have the alterations done in two days. TWO DAYS. In addition to the fast service, they were very honest when they said that they were unsure of the price because of the intricate beadwork (which kept their amazing mother up for hours) and they told me they would give me a better idea during the next fitting. Because I trusted their fair pricing I did not even inquire about the cost during the last fitting. Needless to say, the final price was less than HALF of what it would have been with the snotty seamstress. I will be returning soon with a gift for the family because they helped my family during a very hectic time. I love to support small businesses, and in my opinion, this business deserves to be supported...and I will use them loyally as long as I live here. read more
