Updating my previous review. I did have one frustrating conversation with Andrew. I was latter emailed by who let me know that andrew typically has a stellar track record and has been great for the 7 years he has worked there. They did offer to refund my extension but that would mean that I would lose the initial fee which is much higher than the renewal. Since I had already invested a lot of time with their program I chose to continue. The program itself is excellent. Very user friendly. There are videos for everything. The process is clear and very organized. Other than my one incident when calling in it has been a great experience and I recommend this program for other contractors looking to get licensed in CA. read more

This a money making scheme school, they're in just to make money and nothing else. They say 100% money back guarantee but do not stand behind this. They get you to pay their fees for material and lie to make sure you will get your license but that is so they can make money. I spoke to the representative on the phone when I ordered my materials and I was told I would get my application approved. I was misguided to make me believe that the work experience for a certain company would qualify me for the class B license. It's been almost a year trying to get my application approved by the CSLB and they will not even approve my application let alone let me take the examination. I would not recommend this company or any school that says they will guarantee you get your license. The owners and representatives of this company will not support you once they have received their fees. Their sole purpose is to make money and they do that just great. As a person who struggles with examinations, I must say that Contractors Intelligence School was a great resource which helped me over prepare for the C-10 and Law examinations. I passed both exams on the first try. Their app allowed me to prepare at my own pace and the office staff helped with ensuring my application to the CSLB was filled out properly. They even checked in occasionally to see how I was doing on the course. Many of the questions on the practice test appeared in the actual exam as well. The course helps train you to decipher between which multiple choice answer is the best one since there are some questions with more than one correct answer and some trick wordage sprinkled in. It's also a great course because of all of the technical information it provides to ensure you know what you're doing when you start your business. In addition, for someone who is terrible at math, I feel that math ended up being one of my strengths during the exam with all of the course's math tips. Enrolled in the C-20 internet course. The entire app was great, easy to use. Used it for two months to prepare for the exam. Took all the practice test until I scored over 90% on each test for both Law and Trade. Took the test and passed both the law and C-20. Both tests took me under an hour to complete combined. Great course. Easy to study and will get you more then prepared. I am not a great test taker. read more

I passed all three tests for my C-54 license on the first try. The Law & Business on 6/15 and C-54 and Asbestos on 6/19. They were helpful in helping me make sure my qualifying replacement application was correct prior to submitting to CSLB. If you enroll in this school you will pass the law portion with no problems. With the practice tests and Andrew's live stream, you will surely pass. I went for the C-20, and passed with no problem. The C-20 material will get you most of the way there. With knowledge of your trade the exam will not be a problem. I'm a bit dissapinted at this school. I was hoping to pass my test the first time, however, I failed pretty miserbly. I went to their crash course the weekend before my exam and I didn't feel like I gained much from it. The Trade training was with other Trade applicants and the instructor didn't focus the material on any particular Trade. He just went through math questions and safety. Since I only have their study material and practice tests, I went through all of them. As I went to the examination, the questions were extremely different. It caught me off guard. After I failed my test, I decided to look through their study book again and realized all the content were from 2015. I don't know what they plan to do now. Hopefully they don't ask me to go to that crash course again with different Trade applicants. That'll just be a waste of time. I need either an instructor to go through specifically my Trade or at least give me an updated book with relevant content so I can study on my own. read more

We sent in the forms and we were later told that there was references missing, so attaining the requested references and life caused a delay. When I finally got everything together and reached out to Anna Nunes, my sales lady, she told me that I would have to pay another $418 and start from ground zero. I am currently on the journey of getting my B2 residential remodeling contractors license in the state of California. I stumbled upon this company called "Contractors intelligence school". I inquired about more information about there services on there website via phone call for how they can help me with that specific license. If it is even possible. A guy named Tom contacted me a couple of days later and began to sell me on the course they offered, assuring me that they could help me in my situation, not even knowing it fully*. I got pumped because this was my shot. It's exactly what I wanted to hear. As he persisted to take my credit card info over the phone. I did not have the card on my person at the time. I rushed to my card and signed up for the courses online which came out to about 566.95$ in total on my bank statement. I quickly realized when I was looking at the application that needed to be accepted by CSLB, which also cost another 250$ to review, that there is nothing they could do to "HELP" me in my situation. As this realization came to me, in less than 24 hours of me "Paying for their services", I called their office to get a clarification and start inquiring about a refund as the course was completely useless to me at this point. The couple of people that I talked to at the front desk assured me that I would almost surely get a refund and emailed me a refund form. I filled it out then sent it back. In less than 24 hours they responded with a denial hitting me with a few lines from there "contract." (They did offer to freeze my account for 3 months which I accepted.) I'm a college student still trying to figure things out in life and have a lot to learn while still making mistakes, but this one was a very expensive one that feels a bit more like getting taken advantage of/Or Scammed than a mistake. This company has been in business for about 13 years now and I am not the first person to be victimized by this procedure as you can see by some of there comments on the BBB. There are many other contractors schools that will provide a way better service. The manuals aren't bad, but they will charge you extra if you want to do practice exams online and it expires pretty soon. I was never told that the practice exams online had an expiration and when I tried to use them, they had already expired. That was totally my fault for not asking, but I didn't appreciate their lack of support when I called for help. They didn't even try to work with me. I spoke with Marian and she pretty much told me that I was assed-out (in a more polite way) I guess I would have expected a better service or at least a "Sorry you had to go though this". It was more like.. Yeah.. You're pretty much screwed and you just have to pay again. Not my type of company to deal with. read more

I set time to take the tests provided and to my surprise many of the questions were foreign to me! so when I called and found out that my manual is missing all those pages, rude and money hungry Tom says he is not sure if I am telling the truth and I need to pay another $150 (over the $350 we had already paid over a year ago, to get access online to the manual!! This school helped me get my General contracting license! I studied hard for about a month and took the in person study class the week before the test and passed the Law/Business as well as the trade test the first try. I would greatly suggest using the application on your phone every time you have downtime.... this is how I passed. I was able to get 95% on the application practice tests and was able to pass in half the time needed for the exam. The staff at the headquarters is very helpful in making sure the information is filled out properly and is helpful with any questions you might have. I am very happy with Contractors Intelligence School. From the time I filled out my application to the day we came in and studied. All the instructors there were very helpful to me regarding any questions I had about the licensing process. There was one time where I was going to have to wait over a month to take my actual test with the State. Frustrated with the State, I called CIS and they told me how to speed up the process. I was in taking the test just days later. Just really happy with the whole process, how experienced they were with the process and how they helped me whenever I had a question. The only advice I would give is to tell the students to make sure they turn in all of their W-2's for the years of journeyman level experience they are claiming and other certifications (In my case EPA) with the License Application. That would have saved me a couple weeks of waiting for the state to process my info. The day of classroom review was very helpful. I liked the concept of going over the Math and Safety material. I think spending the extra time on that was a good idea. I will recommend you to others going the contractor route! read more
