20 years ago after failing the test for the California state contractors license . I contacted California state contractors license school and paid my fees and received all my study guides. Back then it was just tapes. I easily passed my law and trade exam. Fast forward to 2017 I was trying to add a B classification to my original trade license so I looked them up again and paid a small fee. Today I am so glad I have achieved my goal I am not affiliated with the school in anyway but I will highly recommend them just remember your online study guide only last for about three months and if you want to continue that you will need to pay a small fee extra. I highly recommend doing that is how I achieved my goal the videos just didn't work and were boring for me the literature was not helpful eith I did it all online through practice exams.

I am currently a student here at SUI in the DMS program, graduating in March…read more It has truly been a blessing to learn about my dream career here at SUI. The program is accredited, which is great. Dr. Suhad is an amazing professor. She is down to earth and just brilliant. I couldn't imagine learning about sonography from anyone else. Melissa, my clinical coordinator, is very encouraging and I appreciate all of her help during my clinicals. I want to be 100% transparent about my time here at SUI so I will also speak about some things that can be improved on. I believe that better communication and full transparency will take this program to the next level. I think that the amazing staff, like Dr. Suhad and Melissa, are taking on a lot of responsibility and if their burden was shared with possibly more staff, the program would be so much more amazing. There are a few other kinks not worth mentioning but I know that SUI is already done some steps to make the next cohort's experience better than what mine was so I know they are very well capable of greatness. Nonetheless, my time here at SUI was/is truly remarkable. I would recommend it if you are seriously as passionate about sonography as I am.

As a working single mother, I invested $5,000 in this program hoping to build a better future for…read moremy family. Unfortunately, my experience left me feeling unsupported and unfairly treated. I struggled with Physics and repeatedly sought help from my instructor, Tamara. After expressing that I felt behind, I was told that other students needed assistance and that she would try to get to me when she could. Rather than receiving the guidance I needed, I often felt dismissed. Toward the end of the program, I became seriously ill. During finals week, when attendance was not mandatory and students had been allowed to leave early, I stayed behind specifically to ask questions because I was committed to learning. On one occasion, I attended a meeting while traveling to a doctor's appointment and later received medical documentation supporting my condition. Despite this, I was written up for attending the meeting from my car and later for not wearing scrubs during an after-class meeting, even though I could not find a policy in the student handbook requiring uniforms for meetings outside scheduled class time. I was also required to write a one-page letter regarding the incident. What was particularly concerning was the apparent inconsistency in how disciplinary actions were applied. I observed other students arriving late to class without receiving the same level of disciplinary action, including formal write-ups or being required to write a one-page letter. This left me feeling that I was being held to a different standard. I also felt that my work was not evaluated fairly. Despite following assignment instructions, using the required ultrasound images, and incorporating the requested examples, I received only the minimum passing grade. Throughout the program, students are frequently reminded that instructors and program staff have significant influence over clinical placements and future opportunities within the profession. Because of this, I felt uncomfortable raising concerns or filing complaints while enrolled, out of fear that doing so could negatively impact my clinical experience or future success in the program. As a result, I remained silent about many of the issues I experienced. Throughout the program, I worked hard to balance full-time employment, motherhood, health challenges, and my education. Instead of receiving support, I felt that personal opinions may have influenced how I was treated. I later failed my final to which I blame not getting the support that I needed with half a point and I knew she had personal issues with me because she did not contact me with any support when I know she reached out to another student that had dropped out and gave her support so she had personal issues with me when little does she know that I was a struggling mother of two working full-time and trying to get through this program not fully understanding it and wanting help and never getting it . My experience left me disappointed and feeling that student success depended more on instructor preference than on effort and dedication. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this program. Definitely be careful. I have never been treated so horribly by a teacher in my life and I have been to a community college as well as a 4 year college, and when voicing my concerns the only reply I received was thank you for your concerns. Beware. So I hope Tamara feels proud of herself for ruining someone's future for personal unknown reasons. mind you I had done every assignment I could, every extra credit that was assigned, attended every study group I could to try and pass this class. beware if they decide they do not like you. They will make sure that they take your money and that you do not pass and proceed.

What an awful experience. After paying them I received my course packet and was very disappointed…read morein what I received. They only provided study information on the legal half of the test. I called wanting a refund and spoke with them and was told refunds were not an option but if I wanted to proceed we could still do that. Which I figured what the hell they already have my money. After a lengthy phone conversation I found I still had some ducks to get in line before submitting application. So after getting everything lined up I called the school back to proceed, and was then informed that I had only a four month time limit and that my enrollment had expired. I was not made aware of any time limit and was told it was in the fine print of my packet. This company is an absolute scam that provides from what I can tell a half rate service, and even worse customer relations. I asked why wasn't a phone call made to me to let me know my hard earned money was about to go up in smoke and the response was "we don't call students, sorry for your loss". Please if you read this use literally any of the other schools, I can almost guarantee a better experience. Also keep in mind this guy says they have zero complaints on their bbb account, yet others have filed complaints as have I. So just because the BBB isn't listing them doesn't mean they don't exists. Edit: I absolutely became engaged and cursed at staff. Is that better sir? You don't receive your packet until after you pay, so I really didn't agree to anything prior to paying you. Secondly I called back immediately after receiving my packet and requested a refund, due to my not being happy with the product I received (which others in this thread having complained about the exact same issue). I was told refunds are not an option. After speaking with the gentleman at that time, we agreed that I needed to do a few things before submitting my application. These items required paperwork to be done with the government, and thousands of dollars being spent (not your problem), but it would've been nice to be told then that I had a very small window to complete these tasks in. Your company and product is a joke. When I asked where the construction knowledge study materials were, I was told "you are then one with the experience, you're supposed to know this stuff" which is an awful way to speak to a paying student (again others in the thread have been told the exact same thing). So yeah when I'm being told you guys are pocketing $750 of mine, with nothing more than a shitty binder with some home printed pages in it, I became very upset and lost my temper. I'm not going to apologize for that. Your company is awful!!

I was suspended and ultimately fired and upon requesting my employee personnel records and files, I received NO disciplinary actions against my record whatsoever nor any contest to the 10 page written testimony I sent the district in a cert. letter. I have a passion for advocating for students and had to defend myself in this situation when there should not have been a situation. Effie Crush, former head of HR (she's abruptly "retiring") and representative who spoke on Superintendent David Gordon's behalf, stated the abuse and neglect I witnessed with my own two eyes raised concerns for the district (it should have). While mocking my status as a sub, it was stated that I made "judgements" against the other employees and that as a "sub" because I hadn't worked in the class where the abuse and neglect occurred, I didn't know the students IEP's and staff enough to have written what I did. I questioned whether or not an IEP or "judgement" would -ever- tell employees to NOT feed students, force their head to a table, etc. The response I received from the district was that they 'cared' about student safety and well-being...really? If that were true, those comments would not have been made and I wouldn't be till this day unable to work for them. This is my review and truth for all to see and stay mindful of where you send your children.

"EXEMPLARY PROFESSIONAL TRAINING PROVIDED THROUGH SAC-STATE"…read more SIT REP In one of my roles for my employer - the California Department of Social Services (CDSS) - my training-section provides a training opportunity for our licensing enforcement officers & investigators who work in the Community Care Licensing Division (CCLD). These officers must go out to state-licensed Community Care Facilities where they investigate complaints about facility-deficiencies, neglect or outright abuse on the client-populations residing in these facilities. For those officers entrusted to the specific investigations of Residential Care Facilities for the Elderly (RCFEs), and for the Chronically Ill (RCFCIs), California State University - Sacramento (CSUS) provides important subject-matter information that allows our officers to investigate these cases with a far better understanding of the demands placed on the licensed facility, on the staff, and what minimum standards for acceptable care should be maintained for the elderly client population residing at these facilities. In addition, there is a training requirement mandated by the State Legislature that our officers go through so many hours of training on these specialized subject-matter areas. THE SET-UP & CURRICULUM For the last five (5) years, I've enjoyed the experience of working with Dr. Osborn of CSU-Sacramento's School of Gerontology. She and her instructor staff have provided our CCLD officers with great curriculum and in-class training that has helped them get the knowledge base and hands-on skills they need to better interact with the facility staff and the elderly client populations. The various modules in this 40 HR training provide a lot of specific information that deals with the health needs of the elderly, better understandings of mental handicaps and deficiencies, minimum standards for residential living, and better communication tools for interpersonal action with elderly populations. Other specialized modules also discuss dealing with family members of the elderly and being sensitive to their frames of mind, as well as other related issues dealing with end-of-life scenarios. THE LOWDOWN The CSUS School of Gerontology can provide excellent program knowledge on the elderly populations of our society so that greater understanding of their unique needs can be provided.

Unfortunately, I needed to take the class on that date and could not reschedule. I had to scramble to find another CPR class (and the money to pay for it) in order to be hired on time for my job. I called in order to get a refund only to be told that it would take 6-8 weeks to receive my refund and they seemed perplexed as to why I could not reschedule. I found another class that was shorter, cheaper, and I didn't have to pre pay in advance. After spending 5 years at Sac State, struggling to find work after graduation I was extremely disappointed that they would take so long to refund my money when there was little to no notice that the class was cancelled. I DO NOT recommend taking CPR classes here as instructors are unreliable and their refund policy is unacceptable. Go to NorCal EMT in Roseville for cheaper, reliable classes.
