We had major life events that occurred over the last 3-4 years and Sara went out of her way to support us and find help to our answers. I wasn't entirely sure if it was worth it, but I also thought it couldn't hurt. I'll say this: using The College Planning Center was one of the best decisions I could have possible made for my daughter's future! Preparing for college now is so much different than when I went to high school. I feel like there is so much more pressure on my kids than what I experienced. The College Planning Center does a fantastic job of helping organize high school class schedules and coordinating extracurricular activities if your kids are not already involved. They had consistent meetings with my daughter throughout her entire high school years. This was so important because there are times when my daughter was either too busy to focus on the global plan or was simply procrastinating, but having the consistent meetings never let my daughter get too far behind the schedule and goals that she set with her counselor at the Center. The College Planning Center also brings so much collegiate knowledge that we never would have thought about, whether it's enrolling in online college courses during the summer or attending various UC programs over the summer that helped boost our daughter's college applications. Rather than thinking about and preparing for college applications in my daughter's junior year, they helped us prepare throughout her high school experience. I can't tell you how much pressure this relieves when the application process actually beings. My daughter was far less stressed than most of her friends because she had been preparing consistently for a longer time. When you follow The College Planning Center's scheduling and goals, the whole process is so much more organized and less stressful! I could keep going, but we also have 4 kids that take a lot of attention and time away from focusing on one kid during application season. The College Planning Center was so helpful and made the entire college preparation and application process so great for my daughter and our family. Last, she was accepted to her #1 choice!! Passed my law and C20 exam first try. A few questions into the trade exam I knew I was going to…read morepass. The practice exams questions were very similar to the actual trade, I felt the exam questions for law were not as similar as the practice tests but I had enough confidence and knowledge from the videos provided that I was able to answer the questions. I would highly recommend this company. Submitting my application to CSLB was easy, they reviewed my application for errors and sent them back to me for corrections before submitting. For an additional fee, which was very reasonable (I shopped around), they submitted all the paperwork to register my s-corporation. All the videos and practice guides made me feel like my test was easy. As long as you study, you will pass.

I recently…read moretook my child there for an assessment hoping to retain services from them for assistance with reading and comprehension. I was told the assessment would be 4 hours which seemed a bit lengthy but when I arrived to pick up my child the tests were still not finished and I was told that my child was actually finishing early! I later met with Bill Newman to review the assessments. The tests did not tell me anything I didn't already know my child had struggles with and we spent an hour and a half rehashing the same concerns. My child divides their time between my home and their father's home and Bill kept saying that he needed to meet with the rest of the family. I explained that he could contact them and set up time or talk with them on the phone. I also explained that if his concern was not being on the same page, we were all wiling to follow whatever plan was put in place. Prior to this assessment we had all agreed to doing whatever would be best for our kid. I explained to Bill that it might be difficult for them to meet with him in person as they have a business and small children with another on the way. He said he would call Stepmom to discuss. Bill then said he did not want to set my child up for failure and I asked him how that would be the case. He said that if different things were happening in each home my child would fail. WHAT?!! I reiterated that we would follow the plan and then said, so you're telling me that some tutoring wouldn't help? He said no, of course not. Well, please explain, I said. Bill then stated that Huntington has a 95% success rate and his numbers could be impacted. I was flabbergasted!! Bill then said he would not go forward with creating a plan for my child until he could speak with the rest of the family. At this point, Stepmom has called Bill numerous times and he has refused to speak with her on the phone. How incredibly unprofessional and antiquated!! Needless to say we will be attempting to find other resources for my child. We feel discriminated against based upon our family situation. Apparently if you aren't married, in the same household with 2.5 children, Huntington will not work with you!! I have come to believe that their numbers for their success rate are falsely inflated due to being unwilling to help anyone who needs the help. A true statistic would be based upon results from helping anyone who could afford the service and needs the help!! I made the incorrect assumption that Huntington Learning Center is there to help children, not that the children are there to help Huntington!

He is now a sophomore and performing very well in high school, getting all A's and B's. He began HLC as a kid who thought he was dumb, and left filled with confidence which has stayed with him throughout high school.
